New Music: LION BABE’S Astro Raw Shares ‘RAWMIX VOL 1’ MIXTAPE

Astro Raw – aka Lucas Goodman and one-half of New York-based duo LION BABE, alongside singer/songwriter and performance artist Jillian Hervey – has released his brand new mixtape rawmix vol 1, which he teased earlier this week withThe 405 premiered track ‘U R My High’.

The 14-track project showcases Astro Raw’s stellar, one of a kind production credentials and his infectious, genre defying sounds which seamlessly mix R&B, hip-hop, soul, funk and dance to sultry effect. Featuring exclusive mixes – including reworked versions of tracks from the likes of Wiz Khalifa, Busta Rhymes and Alicia Keys – and rounded off with brand new remixes of the popular LION BABE tracks ‘Treat Me Like Fire’ and ‘Jungle Lady’, ‘rawmix vol 1’ is set to be the soundtrack to your summer.

Performing across the world as a part of LION BABE, Astro Raw has also delivered show-stopping DJ sets at prestigious events such as ELLE Style Awards, Whitney Museum’s Art Party, Bestival’s Party on the Moon and PAPER magazine x Ketel One Vodka, whilst as an in-demand DJ across the New York night scene he regularly performs popular sets at the cool, hot-spot Miss Lily’s.

Earlier this year, LION BABE released their latest single ‘Rockets’ featuring Moe Moks. Receiving first looks on Noisey and Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show the song is set to appear on their forthcoming new EP which will be their first commercial release since their critically celebrated debut studio album ‘Begin’, which was released last year and featured collaborations with the likes of Pharrell Williams and Childish Gambino and career-defining tracks such as ‘Treat Me Like Fire’ and ‘Jump Hi’. SFPL’s Artist Spotlight: Laurieann Gibson’s New Artist Vali Debuts New Visual “Friend Of Mine”

Vali is a New York native, Los Angeles-based pop songstress signed to Rostrum Records. The up and coming talent caught the eye of creative director Laurieann Gibson (Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj,) and Gibson signed on to become Vali’s manager.

The hit single “Dimes” featuring Wiz Khalifa reached over one million streams. Vali has been featured on numerous media platforms gaining much traction.

Her EP is slated to be released in early spring.

Wiz Khalifa Stars in Rag & Bone’s Men’s Project Campaign

Wiz Khalifa continues to show off his fashion prowess.

Following the launch of his BASH clothing line on Oct. 15, Khalifa’s been unveiled as the face of Rag & Bone’s new Men’s Project campaign.

Wiz is featured alongside Mark Hamill, John Turturro, and Mikhail Baryshnikov. When speaking to Billboard co-CEO Marcus Wainwright shared this regarding the “Black and Yellow” artist’s selection.

 

“We were trying to find people who had forged their own path, and had a very strong sense of their own personal style and that’s certainly true of him. It was also a natural extension of the relationship we had with him, after doing some clothes for his tour and dressing him for the Met Ball. He was all over the press for that; he was wearing a white tuxedo we made, and he owned it. It really highlighted how good something classic and well-made can make anyone look.”

Wiz also appears in a 30-second clip for the label’s Men’s Project; shot in a bowling alley on black and white Super 8 film, which you can check out below along with all campaign videos.

SFPL’s Artist Spotlight: Signing with Rostrum Records, Juliann Alexander Celebrates Record Deal by Debuting “Show Me Luv” [New Video]

Juliann Alexander, the newest young star signed to Rostrum Records, has amassed a large fanbase with his consistent output of party records that have become a constant in the Los Angeles club scene.

With 17,000 subscribers on Youtube and over 200,00 followers on social media, Juliann knew it was time to partner with a label that can take him to the next level.

With Rostrum Records’ success launching the careers of Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa, he was excited to put his name on the dotted line.

To celebrate, Alexander debuts the visuals to his newest record “Show Me Love”:

“I’ve been a fan of Reazy Renegade for a while and after he did the ‘Super Freaky’ record with Tory Lanez & Rick Ross, I reached out. “Show Me Luv” was in the batch of beats Reazy sent me, I played it and instantly knew it was the one I wanted. “Show Me Love” is about where I came from, how people doubted me early on but now they see me doing big things and wanna jump on the bandwagon.”

JoJo Does What She Wants, “F*ck Apologies” ft. Wiz Khalifa [New Video]

JoJo returns today with a new video for “F*ck Apologies” featuring Wiz Khalifa. The new single off her first studio album in a decade Mad Love., is about being fed up with having to apologize when you’ve done nothing wrong.

The hazy and dark visual was shot in L.A. and directed by Emmy-nominated film maker Francesco Carrozzini. We find JoJo embracing her flaws as she sings,

“I’m not perfect, I got pride / That’s not what it is this time / So fuck apologies, I would say I’m sorry if I really meant it.”

Wiz Khalifa then comes in delivering an unapologetic verse rapping,

“I ain’t apologizing for shit, I do what I want”

Watch the video for “F*ck Apologies” below. JoJo’s third album, Mad Love., arrives Oct. 14 via Atlantic Records and is set to include contributions from Oscar Holter, Whiskey Water, and Justin Tranter. You can also catch JoJo on Fifth Harmony’s 7/27 Tour through Sept. 17.

Last weeks theme was beef, this weeks theme is one of peace! In what we like to call the selfie seen around the world, both Amber Rose and Kim Kardashian decided to break the internet by both posting the incredible selfie on their respected Instagram accounts.

Amber also followed Kim on Instagram, plus Kourtney and Kylie both liked Kim’s selfie with Amber and The Shaderoom caught the action.

Now how did this all come to fruition? Well according to TMZ, Kim Kardashian reached out to Amber and set up the meeting. They reportedly met up at Kris Jenner’s home and “hashed” things out between them. Now the move comes after Amber pretty much dropped ether in the form of two tweets at her ex-beau now Kim’s husband  Kanye West after West said some nasty things about her and her son.

Kim wasn’t the only person Amber kiss and made up with, it seems she is also on good terms again with her bestie Blac Chyna as well.

The two were spotted together at a party Chyna was hosting at Ace of Diamonds in West Hollywood.

The forgiveness train just didn’t end with Kim, Amber and Chyna. Looks like Kanye and Wiz also got in on the act as well. Now it’s quite understandable why Wiz was very upset with Kanye after Yeezus spoke negatively about both the mother of his child and his son. Wiz was well justified to issue Kanye a fade on site if they ever met up with each other. Well it looks like Kanye won’t have to be watching his back anymore after ending the beef with this tweet.
