Lean Brim was born and raised in the streets of Harlem, NY. Surrounded by gangs and quick money, Lean quickly learned the art of the game and rose up in street ranks. After several stints in and out of jail from 14 to 18 and the birth of his son, he began to think about how to take his masterful abilities as a hustler and using it to sell his number one product-himself. It was while hustling on 125th in front of the famed Apollo theatre; he honed his skills as a clever lyricist who wowed the endless crowds with his wit, delivery, and swag. He gathered the attention of Sony Music Group who recognized his talents as a songwriter and employed him to write for 5 different genres, something Lean Brim credits to his ever-changing style and “33 flows”.

From gigs with Fat Joe & the Terror Squad, Chris Brown, Kehlani, Tory Lanez, Mos Def; collabs with The Weekend, Soulja Boy, the Cool Kids and a host of ghostwriting opportunities for top rap, pop, country, rock and, R&B artists—Lean Brim is steadily staking his spot in the music industry as a multi-faceted force to be reckoned with.

New Music: SmokeyGotBeatz ft. MC Eiht – “Big Bad CPT” | #WestCoastWednesday

With Compton back on the world stage, it’s no surprise that a shared alliance to L.A.’s TDE camp between SmokeyGotBeatz and West Coast Legend MC Eiht would result in a new ode to the hub city.
The New Zealand-born, Los Angeles-based producer presents ‘Big Bad CPT’ as a part of the popular #WestCoastWednesday series, combining sinister West Coast funk with hard drums and a ’90s-inspired string section – a hallmark of SmokeyGotBeatz upcoming project ‘Coke, Cigarettes & Chicken: The Beat Tape.’

“After hearing MC Eiht and Kendrick together on “M.A.D.D City” I knew I wanted to make a record for MC Eiht. ‘Big Bad CPT’ is my version of a classic West Coast Banger for my generation” ~ SmokeyGotBeatz
