Starring in a brand new reality show on Bravo‘s First Family Of Hip Hop, Darnell Roy is looking to solidify his footprint in the Hip Hop realm following his family’s legacy. The grandson to Sugarhill Records founder Sylvia Robinson has released his official visual to “Not So Low Key” where he has also connected with artist-producer Velous (Kanye West, French Montana).

Last year, Tru Life returned home to much fanfare after being sentenced to eight years in prison. Upon his return, he got right back into the swing of things, collaborating with some of Hip Hop’s biggest stars which led to the release of his smash single “Bag For It,” featuring Rick Ross and Velous. Now with 2017 in full swing, Tru Life recruits fellow New York City native and rhyme slinger Axel Leon for “Bang Bang 2k17,” a redux version of Capone-N-Noreaga’s classic.
Today rising rapper, songwriter and producer BELLY premieres his latest video for his song “Trap Phone” featuring Jadakiss.
The video was directed by Spiff TV (Diddy, Drake, French Montana, Rick Ross) in New York City and features the duo driving and performing the song around the city, while playing homage to iconic hip hop videos of the past. The song is taken from Belly’s latest acclaimed mixtape, Inzombia, which was released earlier this fall and also features collaborations with the likes of Future, Young Thug and rising artist Nav.
After coming off a year which saw him make guest appearances on highly popular records alongside the likes of Fabolous, Rick Ross, Tyga, Jeremih and more, Velous has also raised his level of clout by producing hits for various artists including the much talked about Kanye West record “All Day,” which helped Velous snag two Grammy nominations.
Shifting gears into artist mode, the Kingston, NY native released singles “Sex And The City” and “Flex Wit You,” featuring his Coke Boy brethren French Montana, both of which have helped him win over more fans to add to his cult following. As he gears up for the release of his forthcoming debut album The Disco, Velous blesses listeners with a brand new high energy self-produced cut titled “Flipmode.” Hopefully, there’s a full remix to follow if Busta Rhymes tags onto this fly track!
Cokeboy Zack continues to make noise and moves, and delivers his official visual entitled “Reputation” directed by Kid Art. Building his music catalog, the CB founder makes it known that the paper, nice cars, cribs is real; based off of hard work and just simply grinding, while questioning others Reputation. In the video, you will also find singer-songwriter-rapper and producer of Kanye West‘s “All Day,” Velous who helps Zack carry out the dope track.
Zack tells Billboard:
“I have a certain vision for what I’m trying to do. I don’t just want to be viewed as a rapper or artist. I’m just Zack. I’m different and it’s gonna have to show in my work and everything I put out.”

Back in 2009, Tru-Life was snatched away from his family, friends and fans when he was sentenced to 8 years in prison. Having been released in April of this year to much fanfare, he has been eager to not only return to the music scene but also share his story. Maintaining his innocence, Tru-Life has a documentary in the works about his life and has already yielded interest from major networks.
Now with his Mogul Tree imprint established, Tru-Life is ready to kick things into high gear. The New York City mainstay gave The Rapfest the green-light to unveil his brand new single “Bag For It,” which features a standout verse from Maybach Music Group head honcho Rick Ross and an infectious hook from Swanky Music Group/Coke Boys upstart Velous.
On the track, which is produced by Myles William and CuBeatz, Tru shows that has not lost a single step in his years away.

Building up his production steam since the surprise release of Kanye West‘s “All Day” featuring Theophilus London and now holding major credits on West’s newly album release of The Life of Pablo, 24-year old singer-songwriter-producer-lyricist, Velous premieres his new track “Flex Wit You” featuring French Montana.
Velous is currently working on his forthcoming project entitled The Disco, which will feature G.O.O.D Music’s new signee Desiigner, Fabolous, Coke Boy affiliate and late Chinx Drugz, plus more.
Artist/producer Velous has been a busy man within the 18 months. From signing with French Montana’s Coke Boys imprint via Swanky Music Group, appearing on DJ Spinking’s “Adult Swim” alongside Tyga & Jeremih, producing Chinx’s “Dope House,” as well as appearing on Fabolous’ standout record “Gone For The Winter,” the Kingston, NY native has definitely left his footprint on the music scene. Moreover, early this year, the youngster was further thrusted into the spotlight after producing Kanye West’s much talked about single “All Day.”
Since then, Velous has been tucked away in the studio putting the finishing touches on his forthcoming debut project The Disco. With the project produced entirely by Velous, it will also feature his brand new record “Sex And The City.” The track was first played by Boi-1da on Drake’s OVO Sound Radio last weekend, prompting Velous to leak the record himself at the behest of listeners.
