Jay Z continues to build his empire, further proving he’s a business, man.
HOV has inked a two-year deal with The Weinstein Company for exclusive first-look options on any film or TV projects he takes on.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the partnership already has some projects in development with details to be released within the next few weeks.
This won’t be Jay’s first foray into Hollywood as he has been involved in several projects including The Great Gatsby, Annie, and Chris Rock’s Top Five. Hov also recently narrated The War on Drugs Is An Epic Fail, a short film.
When speaking on the partnership Carter had this to say,
“I’m excited to tell stories from real-life prophets, whom through their struggles have changed the world for the better, and others whose stories are filled with fantasy and delight. Harvey and David are visionaries both of whom have done this time and time again. I’m already passionate about what we currently have in the pipeline and I’m looking forward to discovering others.”

TWC Co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein reiterated those sentiments.

He approaches every aspect of his career with both determination and effortlessness, making him one of the leading power players in entertainment history. We already have some exceptional projects in the works and are excited to see what more is to come.”
Tyler, the Creator is making his return to the silver screen.
The Odd Future MC has joined forces with VICELAND for a late-night program that draws inspiration from his Golf Media app.
This will be Tyler’s second foray in television. His bizarre sketch comedy show Loiter Squad debuted on Adult Swim in 2012 and lasted for three seasons. At the moment details regarding the new series are scarce, but we do know it is set to air during Viceland’s next programming block.
Tyler will be joining emcee Action Bronson on the 24-hour cable channel. Bronson currently stars in two shows: Fuck That’s Delicious and Action Bronson & Friends Watch Ancient Aliens, which recently featured the Goblin rapper as a guest. Tyler also recently sat down with Afropunk to discuss the demise of his brash Twitter handle @f*cktyler.
