Tinashe wants us to ‘Die A Little Bit.’

Listen Ya’ll, we don’t know what it’s gonna take to make Tinashe POP like the star she is, but we are glad she keeps going for it. Our girl has chucked the majors the deuces and decided to go the Indie route this time around, and we ain’t mad. According to;

Tinashe’s split with record label RCA earlier this year was a symbolic transfer of creative power back to an artist who many believe shouldn’t have been limited by label executives in the first place.

Her new single, ‘Die a Little Bit,’ features British rapper, Ms. Banks, and we must admit, it’s a BOP!

Now you know, we LOVE Tinashe on a dance floor, so the minute the beat drops, you know what time it is. And she doesn’t disappoint. We hope this works for her, because lord KNOWS she deserves a break. Step in, and give us your thoughts.

Cheers to hoping it’s only up from here.

FYI, This is the first release off of her new indie imprint, Tinashe Music Inc.

New Music: Tinashe – “Flame”

Platinum selling singer, songwriter, producer and entertainer Tinashe releases her brand new single today, “Flame.” The track, which was produced by Sir Nolan, is available at all digital retail and streaming partners.

The release of “Flame” follows on the heels of Tinashe’s critically acclaimed Nightride, released late last year. The 14-track project, a companion piece to her upcoming studio album, includes stand-out track “Company.” The song recently received an attention-grabbing video clip, a full-on dance assault, all done in one take. ‘Nightride’ is the first of a two-part series, which will include her sophomore studio album, Joyride. With the projects representing two different sides of Tinashe, “Flame” is taken from the latter.

Tinashe told Rolling Stone:

“I see them as two things that are equally the same. I think you can be a combination of things, and that’s what makes people human and complex. They are equally me. I don’t like to be limited to one particular thing so I want to represent that duality and that sense of boundlessness in my art.”

As a go-to collaborator and hit maker, Tinashe has also recently appeared on tracks with the likes of Britney Spears, Davido, Tinie Tempah, Enrique Iglesias, KDA and Lost Kings. Her Spears collaboration, “Slumber Party,” recently reached the #1 position on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart.

Today, Tinashe has been announced as Pepsi’s newest Sound Drop artist. The ‘Sound Drop’ platform, which spotlights today’s hottest, rising stars, will also be integrated into the newest season of Empire, as part of a storyline featuring Tinashe. Alongside Jidenna, Tinashe will play herself in a multi-episode storyline which will involve the creation of a visual album for the character Jamal.

Tinashe Wants Some “Company” In New Visual

Tinashe lets us know that she still has the moves.

Sprawled across a fixated lit dancefloor, Tinashe delivers her new raunchy but semi-casual visual to the song “Company.” The track was birthed from her 2016 project Nightride.

In the video, the talented singer/dancer joins a group of male and female dancers to give us a close and personal demonstration of the lyrics that is being delivered.

As we still await for Tinashe’s Joyride LP, she told Rap-Up in August of last year:

“It was mostly recorded in 2015. The heart of the album still remains the same and then I’m still just adding little tidbits, little touches, anything that inspires me throughout this year.”

Enjoy the full visual above.

SFPL’s Artist Spotlight: Erik Hassle Releases New Single “Missing You”

Swedish soul-pop sensation Erik Hassle has released his first official single “Missing You” since announcing the January 27th, 2017 release of his forthcoming full-length LP INNOCENCE LOST (Record Company TEN/RCA Records).

“Missing You” is out today and was produced by Grammy nominated John Hill (Jay Z, MIA, Charli XCX, Florence and the Machine) in Los Angeles. With its lush production, lithe guitar, and warm embrace, Erik weaves together a poignant and palpable tale of loss that’s as hypnotic as it is heartbreaking.

“It comes from a real story of losing somebody way too early,” he explains. “I sang it one-and- a-half times, because I broke down on the second take. The lyrics speak for themselves.”

In addition to the album version, Erik had his friend songwriter/producer Jerker “Olov” Hansson (Terror JR, Panic! At The Disco, Icona Pop) create a special remix titled the “Olov Remix” that is being released alongside the original album version. Both versions are available now on all digital platforms and the album version is the latest track to be made available as part of an Innocence Lost album pre-order.

The project features special vocal guests Tinashe and Vic Mensa, plus various A-list producers including EshraqueiSHiMughal (Tinie Tempah, Emeli Sandé),TV on The Radio’s Dave Sitek, with additional production from SOHN (Banks, Lana Del Rey), Oskar “Sikow” Engstroem (Giorgio Moroder, Kate Boy), John Hill (AlunaGeorge, Elle King), Billboard (Britney Spears, Robyn), Gorgon City and Al Shux (Alicia Keys, Elliphant).

The result, Hassle delivers honest pure and powerful pop music that instantly connects with the listener.

“I hope people can feel these songs were made in the moment when everything was the most acute and real,” he leaves off. “This is really me. I hope that comes through and it can mean something to someone else.”

Tinashe Is Only Looking For Some “Company” [New Music]

Tinashe unleashes another cut, titled “Company” off her upcoming sophomore effort Joyride.

The songstress doesn’t shy away from establishing she’s not looking for anything more than a hook-up delivering lyrics like,

“Hey, yeah, shout out to my booty. I’m straight up with this one boy, I know it  I call it when I stop feelin’ alone. I want it and sometimes, see, I don’t.”

A sexy, bass infused, and synthy R&B/pop record, Tinashe remains in control throughout the near 4-minute track; commanding exactly what she expects.

“I don’t need no problems with nobody. I know how to get that, unfollow me  I just need a moment, fuck and leave. You could say you had it all, no strings.”

“Company” follows single “Superlove” also on Joyride. The album, due out in October features production from Boi-1da, Joel Compass, Metro Boomin, Ritz ReynoldsThe-Dream, and Tricky Stewart.

Prior to the release the Alexander Wang model and actress teased the album, as well as the single on Twitter.
