Stream Kehlani’s New Debut Album ‘SWEETSEXYSAVAGE’

kehlani

Today is the perfect day for the young budding songstress! Kehlani drops her long awaited debut album SWEETSEXYSAVAGE and it is every bit of the title that it carries, all 18 tracks.

Known for her previous project You Should Be Here and Hot 100 single “Gangsta” from the Suicide Squad soundtrack, and current singles “Distraction” & “CRZY”, Ms. Parrish delivers a new body of work with standout tracks like: “Keep On”, “Personal”, “Advice”, “Do U Dirty”, “Hold Me By The Heart” and “Thank You”.

A personal favorite of ours, “Too Much” finds the singer along the lines of Aaliyah‘s vocal structure even down to the production reminiscent of Timbaland and Missy Elliot, paying homage to what the 90’s trio contributed to music during the 1990’s to early 2000.

Adding another official banger to our collection, “In My Feelings” runs into the chorus scales of New Edition‘s classic hit song “If It Isn’t Love” just off the heels of their 3-part miniseries The New Edition Story. Genius. Hands down, the mashup is lit.

If you fell out of love with R&B, Kehlani will make you fall in love with it all over again. The album is pure perfection.

You can find ‘SWEETSEXYSAVAGE’ on all streaming platforms.

Take a listen to each track below:

Fly News: TIMBALAND TO HOLD ANOTHER BENEFIT EVENT FOR FLINT’S WATER CRISIS

timbaland

Recently, Timbaland announced that he will be holding another event in Detroit, MI on March 4th, which will include a performance for the Flint, MI Water Crisis. Recently, there was speculation about issues that transpired at Timbaland’s previous appearance in the Detroit club, Bleu this past January during his King Stays King Tour.

Despite the rumors that were circulating in the media, Timbaland was still able to help the club raise money for the citizens of Flint, MI who are dealing with a contaminated water crisis. Both Timbaland and the Bleu Nightclub’s spokespersons released statements about the past event and have decided to move forward by joining together again to host another performance in Detroit to raise more money for the citizens of Flint.

Bleu’s owner, Mitchell Jaworski states:

“After speaking with Timbaland, we are pleased that any previous misunderstandings have been talked through and we are able to move forward for the greater good benefiting the people of Flint. We are very proud to be an active partner in this effort and that our venue, Bleu Detroit, is hosting this upcoming event. By working together, we hope that we can help the people of Flint in their time of need.”

Battle Rapper, Quest Mcody and the promoter for this event for Flint said:

“It’s always been our mission to assist in the healing process. Through this misunderstanding, we got to the source, Timbaland and I had a conversation and focused on the solution. The people of Flint need us and they deserve the focus to be on them.”

On March 4th, Timbaland and guests will be performing for Bleu club goers. The tickets sales from Bleu Nightclub will go to Flint, MI to help aid them through this water crisis. Additionally, Timbaland will be making a donation to those who are in immediate need for clean water.

Timbaland says:

“I’m looking forward to returning to Detroit for this benefit performance. It has always been about the people of Flint, Michigan so I am grateful to be able to donate even more to address this crisis.”

In addition to another show in Detroit, Timbaland will also be making up tour dates that were cancelled due to the recent East Coast snow storm in Washington, D.C. on March 3rd and New York City on March 5th. If you cannot make it to Timbaland’s Detroit show, you can also contribute to solving the Flint, MI water crisis by donating to the Water 4 Flint Campaign.

Fly Interviews: Monica On Chris Brown: “I think he’s a tremendous talent”, Singer Talks ‘Code Red’, Remaking ‘The Boy Is Mine’ & more on SFPL TV

monica-sfpl-tv

The Code Red Queen herself, Monica stopped by SFPL TV just a few days before her album dropped to spend some quality time with the Fly Team!

The “Just Right For Me” veteran singer talked about family, why she took some time off, her brand new album, restoring R&B music and it’s origins, Brandy, Aaliyah, Chris Brown, working with Rico Love & more.

Monica spoke on the consistent subject of “Emerging Artists Allegedly Stealing R&B From It’s Origins”:

I don’t feel like anyone can take something that’s mine. That’s just something i’ve always felt. And whomever is successful in R&B music, I wish them the absolute best — because at the end of the day, whatever is meant for us is going to be — and that’s just the way that I feel, that’s a personal choice for me to feel like any place that my feet should be firmly planted, he’ll [GOD] put them there. And I mean, he’s done that for me time and time again. From 1994 all the way to 2015, from 12 years old to 35. So, I don’t feel like anything can be taken from us as far as R&B music is concerned.

On Chris Brown:

You know, i’ve always loved Chris Brown. I think he is a tremendous talent. Whatever else he experiences comes with the territory because this is a lot. And you know, I always say: To whom much is given, much is required. But when you young it takes time to settle into exactly what’s required of you, and I think he will do a lot of that with time. Because there’s not another artist that’s able to sing so many different types of music, dance in so many different styles and ways, and everything is not choreographed with him. Like, i’ve seen him when he’s not just on stage; when music drops it’s just like it’s in his soul, it’s in his bones, it’s something that he was born to do. So, I love Chris.

Monica talked about Jazmine Sullivan and Fantasia as her favorites artists, along the lines of Chris.

On “Which Two Artists Should Remake ‘The Boy Is Mine”:

That record, it really changed both of our lives. And I say, “No One” from my perspective because this record was put together by Rodney Jerkins and Brandy, and if it’s somebody that the two of them believe in — that they feel like really could do the record — then I would cosign that idea immediately. Because they know it’s origin and they know everything they were thinking when they called me and said: “hey, we think this would be a great idea.” That was Brandy and my first time really even being in the same room, and meeting and you know at 16 & 17, it just was a special moment. The only record that both of us have Grammy’s for — like we really did a lot when it came to that record, and I wouldn’t feel comfortable even trying to pick a person to do that song without the two of them, Rodney & Brandy.

SFPL’s Artist Spotlight: Meet JOZZY, The Mastermind Behind Artists Monica, Chris Brown, Beyonce & more

sfpl-artist-spotlight-jozzy

MEET THE NEW KID ON THE BLOCK!

Responsible for penning Monica‘s new single “Just Right For Me” and “Discover” on Chris Brown‘s Royalty album, Polow Da Don‘s new protege & Memphis, TN. native (singer/songwriter) JOZZY is being heralded as one of the songwriters that could help save R&B.

At such a young age, Jozzy has covered a lot of ground in the music business in a very short time. Moving to Memphis to Miami to partner with a production protege of Timbaland, she began writing for veteran hit-maker, as well as artists on Kanye West‘s G.O.O.D. Music label.

It was around this time that Jozzy experienced her first, unsolicited time in the spotlight. She was recruited to write for none other than the Queen Bey, Beyonce. So grateful and excited to be in the room, Jozzy posted a phone pic to twitter with the caption: “THIS IS WHO I’M LOOKING AT RIGHT NOW! JAY Z AND BEYONCE #BLESSED TO BE HERE”. Needless to say, tons of Beyonce fans, the #BeeHive swarmed the account and Jozzy was asked to remove the photo; but not before it had a chance to go viral.

The experience was not all bad, as it led to a very pivotal moment in her career when Missy Elliot personally reached out in admiration of Jozzy’s silky 90’s style & her tone.

“MISSY was the real reason for me wanting to pursue my career as an artist” – Jozzy recalls.

Now under the tutelage music powerhouse Polow Da Don, Jozzy is prepping her launch as a solo artist and enhancing her career as a songwriter by writing for not only Chris Brown and Monica, but Usher, Pitbull, Ciara & Fergie, to name a few. Be on the look out for this phenom because she truly does have next!!

TIMBALAND ANNOUNCES “KING STAYS KING” MIXTAPE FT. AALIYAH, YOUNG THUG, RICH HOMIE QUAN, MILA J & MORE

timbaland-kings-stays-king

Today, Grammy-winning producer, Timbaland is set to release his new mixtape, KING STAYS KING on Christmas Day through MyMixtapez.com. The multi-talented musician teamed up with music’s newest acts, Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, Mila JBlaze and more to create the ultimate holiday gift from music lovers! This is his first major project since his success as the executive music producer for FOX’s television series, EMPIRE.

‘King Stays King’ is a 16 track mixtape that captures the classic “Timbaland” sound with the assistance of new acts who have developed their own signature musical style in 2015. The profound hit-maker takes the lead on the entire project’s production. One of the mixtape’s stand out tracks, “Get No Betta” features R&B’s breakout star and Motown signee, Mila J. Mila and Tim’s chemistry on the track is undeniable and both artists’ styles beautifully blend together. The more unexpected collaborations on the mixtape come from hip-hop’s most interesting and genre bending artists, Young Thug, Blaze, and Rich Homie Quan. The record, “Didn’t Do It” with Young Thug features his trademark hip-hop crooning over brilliant beats from Timbaland. The song, “Servin” featuring Blaze, also a single to KING STAYS KING, is one of the hottest tracks on the project, sure to be a fan favorite. To some fans, the most exciting news about mixtape is that it will feature an unheard track from the late singer, Aaliyah. Through out the entire mixtape, each unforeseen collaboration makes for an extremely cohesive project.

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to give the world some new music. I’ve spent a lot of time working on this project and I am just looking forward to giving my fans some dope sounds to close out the year,” says Timbaland.

More info on Timbaland:

Prior to gearing up for the release of KING STAYS KING, TIMBALAND has been adding to his entertainment kingdom for many years. TIMBALAND’s last solo album, Shock Value II was released in 2009. The super producer followed his critically acclaimed album by focusing on developing the Mosley Music Group roster. TIMBALAND decided to introduce young Chicago emcee, Tink to the entertainment industry. With his help, the Chicago native made a huge splash on the scene with her single, “Million” and impressive XXL 2015 Freshman Cypher freestyle. At the top of 2015, TIMBALAND ventured off into television, providing the popular soundtrack to the record breaking television series, EMPIRE. Merging his two worlds together, TIMBALAND introduced to Mosley Music Group artist, V. Bozeman to the world with a reoccurring role on EMPIRE and released solo music throughout the year. As EMPIRE went into its successful second season, TIMBALAND continued to provide tunes to the hit show and released his first memoir, The Emperor of Sound. While some may think he remained out of the spotlight, TIMBALAND subtly dominated the entertainment industry with new artists, television, literature, and technology.

Soon after the mixtape’s release, TIMBALAND will continue to gift his fans with music videos for “Get No Betta” featuring Mila J and “Servin” featuring Blaze, which they are currently shooting in Atlanta. In January, the producer will embark on a 20 date club tour, performing his new music and classic hits. KING STAYS KING will be available for download on MyMixtapez.com Friday, December 25th. Be sure to keep a look out for TIMBALAND’s new LP, TEXTBOOK TIMBO coming in early 2016.

Fly Interview: A$AP Ferg On SFPL TV, Says He Once Got Fired From Ben & Jerry’s; Talks Working with Missy Elliot, Madonna & more

asap-ferg-sfpl-tv

Fly Friend of SFPL, Rapper A$AP Ferg graced the SFPL TV studio with his presence to talk about his new forthcoming album Always Strive and Prosper, once working for Ben & Jerry’s, his new Trap Lord x Adi-ease collaboration with Adidas, meeting Missy Elliot through Timbaland for the very first time and now having her apart of his new project, working with Madonna and much more.

About being fired from Ben & Jerry’s:

My boy Benson was the manager at the time. I don’t know if the boss knew at the time, but I didn’t sign no application or nothing. I just walked in one day, put a ice cream shirt on and got to work — start to scooping [he laughs]. I was probably giving people extra scoops and they didn’t even know — I started figuring it out later what to do, but I didn’t take no training or nothing. I got paid and everything, but it wasn’t the place for me because I felt like i’m going to use this as a stepping stone — this is only for right now, but I wasn’t really taking the job serious.

Ferg says being fired made him realize that he will never let anyone be in charge of his destiny, nor allow it in anyone else’s hands again. So, he thanked his boss for firing him at the time and for the irony of it, he did an entire photoshoot right inside of the B&J location where he was once fired.

Ferg’s visit was on the same day as A$AP Yams official birthday. Ferg wished Yams a very happy b-day during his interview in honor of his dear friend:

V. Bozeman on Grace Jones: “She’s Paved The Way For Me; If There Wasn’t A Grace Jones, It Wouldn’t Be A V. Bozeman”, Singer Talks with SFPL TV [Video]

v-bozeman-sfpl-tv

Singer/Songwriter/Producer/Actress/Philanthropist and star of EMPIRE, V. Bozeman paid a visit to the Fly Offices of SFPL TV, during her short-stay in the Big Apple! Born and raised in South Central, California, the established artist talked about her recurring role on the FOX hit series, new single “Smile”, working with Timbaland, tribute performances in honor of the late John Lennon, and living music veteran and actor Harry Belafonte, forthcoming 2016 album Music Is My Boyfriend and more.

NEW VIDEO: V. BOZEMAN FEAT. TIMBALAND – “SMILE”

V talks about EMPIRE:

The experience has been nothing but amazing. So many doors have opened, i’ve developed so many new relationships with people from Terrance, Taraji, Jussie and Yazz. I just think it’s a big family and everybody is so grateful to be there and just be apart of a special series.

About being compared to the legendary Grace Jones, all while still forming her own lane:

She paved the way for me. If there was no Grace Jones, it wouldn’t be a V. Bozeman, and I honor her to the upmost — I give her so much respect. She’s broken so many barriers and that’s kind like what i’m about, I vibe on my own vibration.

In case you didn’t know, V. Bozeman first made her way onto the scene when singer/musician Timothy Bloom premiered his 2011 single/video ‘Til The End of Time’, which featured Bozeman and her powerful vocals, as the visual went viral capturing the duo in a D’ Angelo‘esque type vibe, barring a little skin; all while delivering a soulful love song. Two years later, V debuted her new single/visual “Race Jones”, where she delivered a powerful message about accepting the color of her skin, that she’s in.

Since then, V’s wings continued to spread as she moved on to work the likes of Cee-lo Green, Rihanna and now hit-maker Timbaland under the label Mosley Music Group.
