Essence Festival: FORD rocks out with Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith& more

Ford Motor Company celebrated the July Fourth weekend in New Orleans as part of the annual ESSENCE Festival®. As an exclusive automotive sponsor for the ninth consecutive year, Ford provided attendees the opportunity to get up close and personal with its latest lineup of vehicles, including the all-new 2018 Ford Expedition and 2018 Ford F-150.

ESSENCE Festival delivered a star-studded lineup this year, with Ford hosting the most exciting and chart-topping talent at the Superdome lounge and at the Ford booth all festival weekend. Legendary singer Chaka Khan debuted the world premiere of her latest single during her live interview with SiriusXM from the Ford booth at Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The cast of Girls Trip including Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, Regina Hall, Larenz Tate and Tiffany Haddish were also spotted onstage at the Ford booth.

R&B singer’s Tank, India Arie and Elle Varner graced the Ford booth stage, as well as Empire, stars Bryshere Y. Gray and Ta’Rhonda Jones. Joseph Sikora also stopped by for an interview.

Festival-goers had the opportunity to register to test drive the newest vehicles in the Ford lineup, including the 2017 Ford Explorer, 2017 Ford Escape, and 2017 Ford Fusion. One lucky registrant was presented keys to a brand-new 2018 Ford Mustang on Sunday by comedienne and daytime talk show host Loni Love and Raj Register, Ford Multicultural Communications Manager.

Essence Fest: ‘Girls Trip’ VIP Screening Brings Out the Stars

During this year’s Essence Festival, Hello Beautiful, in partnership with Nissan and Universal Pictures, hosted a VIP red carpet screening for the new film GIRLS TRIP. Attending from the cast was Jada Pinkett Smith, Queen Latifah, Regina Hall, Tiffany Haddish, Larenz Tate and Kofi Siriboe; director Malcolm Lee and producer Will Packer introduced the film. Hello Beautiful editors Allison McGevna, Shamika Sanders and Keyaira Kelly were also on hand to welcome guests.

Producer Will Packer (Ride Along and Think Like a Man franchises, and Almost Christmas) presents Girls Trip, a new comedy from director/producer Malcolm D. Lee (The Best Man franchise, Barbershop: The Next Cut).

When four lifelong friends—Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Tiffany Haddish—travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival, sisterhoods are rekindled, wild sides are rediscovered, and there’s enough dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing to make the Big Easy blush. James Lopez, head of motion pictures for Will Packer Productions, and Preston Holmes, executive produce.

WATCH: Jada Pinkett-Smith, Queen Latifah, Regina Hall & Tiffany Haddish Head To Essence Fest In The New Movie ‘Girl’s Trip’

Four life-long friends decide to take a trip to New Orleans and tackle Essence’s popular annual festival. Jada Pinkett-Smith, Queen Latifah, Regina Hall and Tiffany Haddish star in the Malcom D.Smith (The Best Man franchise, Barbershop: The Next Cut) comedy presented and produced by Will Packer (Think Like Man, Almost Christmas, Ride Along).

The ladies look to rediscover their friendship all the while drinking, dancing, brawling and of course find love in the big easy. The film also stars Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Kofi Siriboe (Queen Sugar) & Larenz Tate (Love Jones) so there is plenty of eye candy for the ladies in the film as well. Fly Trailer: Key & Peele, Method Man, Nia Long & more star In the film ‘KEANU’

The epic film KEANU stars comedians Key & Peele along with Method Man, Nia Long, Luis Guzman, Tiffany Haddish and Will Forte. The movie opens April 29th. 

In the movie, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, a.k.a. the hugely popular comedy duo ‘Key & Peele’, star as Clarence and Rell, two cousins who live in the city but are far from streetwise. When Rell’s beloved kitten, Keanu, is catnapped, the hopelessly straight-laced pair must impersonate ruthless killers in order to infiltrate a street gang and retrieve the purloined feline. But the incredibly adorable kitten becomes so coveted that the fight over his custody creates a gang war, forcing our two unwitting heroes to take the law into their own hands.

Peter Atencio (“Key & Peele,” “The Last Man on Earth”) directed the film from a script written by Jordan Peele and Alex Rubens (“Key & Peele,” “Community”).

Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Peter Principato, Paul Young, and Joel Zadak are the producers, with Ben Ormand serving as executive producer.

From New Line Cinema, “Keanu” will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
