As premiered on Tidal, Jim Jones releases the visual to “Bando” featuring Axel Leon through Empire Distribution.

The single, produced by Michel “Navi” Sotolongo, is off the upcoming VL4 album. Jim Jones said, “It’s a dope track record. Radio and clubs will get a great response.” Jim Jones is officially back to play ball!

“Axel Leon is kid that grew up in the Bronx,” said Jim Jones, “He’s one of the most talented kids that I’ve heard since Juelz when it comes to writing music. If he sticks to his craft he’ll have a promising career.” Leon is under Live High Management and VL Records.

Jones is one of the most notable music personalities whose contributions left a significant and innovative imprint in various aspects of entertainment and fashion. His current focus is to continue to dedicate time and capital to various humanitarian efforts that give back to the inner-city youth community.

Tidal & DJ Mustard Release Documentary, Held An Intimate Screening In Los Angeles Hosted by Karen Civil

Today, DJ Mustard exclusively premiered his For Every 12 Hours documentary on TIDAL. The 30-minute documentary takes fans into the studio with 26-year old DJ Mustard as he works on his Cold Summer album and talks about his role as a DJ, producer and label executive. The video also features interviews with Big Sean, Ty Dolla $ign and Roc Nation executives discussing Mustard’s rise and importance to the hip-hop industry, as well as exclusive performance footage.

This past Wednesday, TIDAL hosted TIDAL X DJ Mustard an intimate screening event in Los Angeles where fans watched the documentary and participated in a Q&A with DJ Mustard hosted by Karen Civil. Attendees included YG, Ty Dolla $ign, Karrueche, RJ, Remy Boy Monty, and Miss Diddy. On Wednesday, TIDAL hosted TIDAL X DJ Mustard- an intimate screening event in Los Angeles where fans watched the documentary and participated in a Q&A with DJ Mustard.

The track was written and produced by Sir himself.

On The Gram: The Internet Erupts After Kanye West Premieres Trolltastic Visual For “Famous”

anye West doesn’t bite his tongue for no one nor is he afraid to push the envelope creatively either. Tonight Kanye proved why he is one of the most influential figures of this generation as he sold out The Forum in Los Angeles to premiere his new visual for “Famous”.

It was a star-studded event of course, notables on hand include his wife Kim Kardashian West, mother-in-law Kris Jenner, Scott Disick, Rick Rubin, The Game, 2 Chainz, Desiigner, French Montana, Travis Scott and the recently reunited couple Tyga and Kylie Jenner.

The video was supposed to premiere at 7pm PT exactly but Ye postponed it 30 minutes so folks could get their “limited” “Famous” merchandise.

No one knew what to expect from Kanye when it came to this visual. The song is already surrounded in controversy thanks to its very suggestive Taylor Swift lyric. As the countdown hit 0 and the video played even if you wasn’t there in the forum, you probably was looking at your Tidal steam like:

The video plays like a sex tape recorded on VHS and it’s participants include Taylor Swift, George Bush, Donald Trump, Ray J, Amber Rose, Bill Cosby, Anna Wintour, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Caitlyn Jenner, Kim Kardashian and Kanye himself. You most definitely have to see it to believe it, Kanye really went there.

Fly News: Kanye West To Debut “Famous” Video At Premiere Event in L.A.

Kanye West will follow-up his Life of Pablo Madison Square Garden presentation with a video world premiere event this Friday in L.A..

Being held at the Forum in Inglewood, California West will be debuting the video for his controversial track “Famous.” Tickets will be sold for $25, and available for sale via Ticketmaster on Thursday beginning at 10 a.m. PT. The premiere will also be live-streamed on Tidal for subscribers and non-subscribers. Lucky attendees will have the chance to purchase exclusive merchandise at the premiere event as well.

Following the premiere event Tidal will host the “Famous” video exclusively for one week. This announcement follows West’s release of dates for his Saint Pablo tour which kicks off in Indianapolis August 25.

#ArtForSocialJustice: Usher Fights for Social Justice In Part 2 of “Chains” [Video]

Usher lends a helping hand in the fight against Social Justice. The veteran R&B crooner recently debuted his new Part 2 visual of “Chains.”

During his visit to NYC, Usher Raymond IV, Marvin Bing, Art For Amnesty, Tidal and Sankofa hosted an event called Art for Social Justice: An Artists Collective held at Donna Karen‘s beautiful venue, Urban Zen. During the profound event with cocktails provided by D’usse, eight visual artists presented over forty pieces of work focusing on criminal justice, social justice and the new civil rights movement. Usher stood his ground as he spoke a few words on what is going on in our communities and what needs to be done to make a change.

Shortly after, he then premiered the second installment of his video, “Chains” directed by Film The Future that brings attention to the young Black and Latino men and women who have been killed over the past few years.

#WORK: Tidal Fumbles? Leaks ANTI Tracklist, Rihanna Drops Album On Tidal

Fans have been patiently waiting for Rihanna to drop her album ANTI for some time now, especially since the songstress unveiled the cover art at a gallery in L.A. back in October. Rihanna and her team were doing a great job of building anticipation for the album over the course of several months, with a mysterious Samsung campaign and a recently announced world tour; but things took a turn when Tidal dropped the ball and leaked ANTI’s tracklist.

Only just yesterday we were given a taste of what to expect when she released her Drake collaboration “Work,” exclusively on the music streaming platform. In true Ri Ri fashion, rather than scrambling to do damage control the Bajan singer released the album at midnight via Tidal!

ANTI includes 13 tracks and will be available for download for a week on the music streaming platform, which Ri Ri is part owner of. If the album title wasn’t indication enough ANTI is unlike anything musically we’re accustomed to getting from Rihanna.

Fly News: Taylor Swift’s Open Letter To Apple Proves Why She’s Fly Girl of The Day

 

Could we have upon us the biggest Cyber Bully of our time and generation? Ehh that’s a bit of a stretch! But this open letter written to Apple by Artist Taylor Swift couldn’t keep our minds away from the thoughts of a school kid standing up to the class bully. And in the most honorable way, we approve.

 

Since its debut in 1976, by far we can say, the direct impact that Apple has contributed towards technology and the way we function in society has well surpassed anyone’s original expectations. As a whole, We’re sure many can agree on the satisfaction level consumers gain off their products and services are at great measures. But with us and our moderate happiness as well with their exceeding and continuous successes, you’ve gotta know there would be someone, somewhere along the line getting the shorter end of the stick. And who might that just be? You guessed it! That song your listening to right now, your favorite artist!

For just a moment before things get too deep in, we’re going to scratch surfaces up from past to present. Just to give you the picture of what today’s music world really has turned into.

So while thousands, if not millions of people enjoyed their favorite tunes at no charge, the music industry began to take on a huge hit leaving artist at lost ends and gradually dampening the market.

As this was all in progress, we gradually moved forward from CD Players  to MP3 Players. As the new wave of technology excitingly broke the minds and pockets of low ended consumers, Apple was ready to make its way into the swarm, taking over the market by developing these keen exclusive devices which automatically made you cooler then most.


With devine strategic marketing, we slowly caught on to the concept. Everybody was going to need something apple! And in the midst of our inevitable distractions, Limewire was brought to its knees.

Well, now what?

Artist and all of the music industry rejoiced. Now knowing there’s a savior for their hard work and efforts, the industry is now willingly submissive to the new design of mass music distribution. Developing this partnership restored order back into the likings of the industry creating all things good. So everyone thought!

Now with the  free streaming market being accessible to consumers, potentially (risking knocking out or at least dampening the “download” as a factorible music source) Trillion, & Quadrillion look like achieving numbers for the company within the next decade or so while artist continue to work, move, sing, and….

 

Reflecting upon the reasons why Tidal may possibly be the choice of reason for supporting musicians. As a music lover, what is your standing argument? Wait, Back it up. You probably don’t know a single soul who doesn’t love some sort of music. Doesn’t matter genre, style, everyone has been effected moved or touched in someway from music. Realizing this, the best lane to ever try and capitalize off of would indefinitely be, Music.

 According to Spotify:

An artist’s royalty payments depend on the following variables, among others:

• In which country people are streaming an artist’s music

• Spotify’s # of paid users as a % of total users; higher % paid, higher “per stream” rate

• Relative premium pricing and currency value in different countries

• An artist’s royalty rate

Recently, these variables have led to an average “per stream” payout to rights holders of between $0.006 and $0.0084. This combines activity across our tiers of service. The effective average “per stream” payout generated by our Premium subscribers is considerably higher.

Digital Music News published a real royalty statement from a really reliable source showing TIDAL’s per-stream royalty payouts, which averaged $0.0144 (or, 1.44 cents) per stream for an independent label.

 
We may not be mathematicians but we know when things don’t add up. And as Apple currently stands firm with their plans of business, we can’t help but to wonder what will become of the three mega companies at large.
