With more and more specialized headphones for everything from gaming to running joining the cluttered headphones race, San Francisco based consumer electronics company, Sol Republic, looks to break away from the pack with the Relay. Announced at CES, the Relay is the first “cross-over” headphone that gives wearers the ability to have one pair of headphones that keeps up with them wherever the day takes them.
The Relay introduces Sol Republic’s FreeFlex technology, which utilizes an adjustable ring around the ear tip that gives a universal fit that stays in place regardless of the intensity of your activity. They are sweat and water resistant, come with a clip-on cable to prevent the cable getting caught, as well as a mic and a control that allows you to answer calls, control volume and skip tracks. They are currently available at Verizon for $79.99 in Black & White, Horizon Blue and Lemon Lime releasing nationwide in February.
