Daisha Delivers 90’s Inspired Cover of “Good Life” [New Video]

Indie Pop/Alternative recording artist, dancer and actress, Daisha let’s us know what the “Good Life” feels like on her brand new cover and video. The song is a 90’s inspired cover originally done by Inner City, but remade by Swagg R’Celious.

The visual was directed by Shane Adams under the creative direction of Shalimar Davis.

Daisha talks about the concept of the video:

I wanted to share a typical NYC-style type of night, while being out with friends.  Nothing too polished, or scripted or choreographed, just a raw type of feelingI threw a party at a warehouse in Brooklyn, invited my friends and we shot it…This video is about the lifestyle.”

About the song:

It’s a feel good record about loving life. Sometimes you just want to escape and have 3 and a half minutes of bliss,” shares Daisha. “The 90’s feel good vibe will never die. I love to blend timeless beats with today’s sound.”

Last month, DAISHA become one of the new faces of ATHLETA GIRL new empowering campaign, “THE POWER OF SHE”.  “The Power of She” is a bold campaign inviting women and girls to stand together, collaborate and put an end to undermining. Through the launch of this campaign, the brand aims to create a sisterhood of women and girls fueled by the core belief that alone we are strong, but united we thrive.  With the brand’s new Athleta Girl line, the brand will continue to encourage healthy, active lifestyles and instill a strong sense of confidence in the next generation of girls.

SFPL Music: D∆WN (Dawn Richard) Puts A Fly Spin on “Hello” by Adele

dawn-adele-hello

In this incredibly-fly remixed version of Adele’s “Hello” produced by Swagg R’Celious, D∆WN does only what she knows best by making this cover all her own, and it’s amazing!

In a conversation with Pitchfork, Dawn said:

“I’m always skeptical about doing covers.  If I do them, I usually take them and morph them into my own.  For example, when I covered Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse” my producer and I sat down to create a distinct sound for the track.  Recreating “Hello” was no different because I had the urge to cover it in my own way. I just couldn’t resist a record that was so well written.”

Take a listen as she transports you into her world:
