Sneakers as a Kid:

“Man I remember tryna get school shoes as a kid. It was a set amount of money for me to get shoes with. You know clothes, you gon…you gon get what you get, but shoes you had this much money. So if you wanna add and add to this to get something better than what you know you can get with this, then you do so. *pointing to sneakers* My first pair of Jordan’s ever. These are my first pair of Jordan’s ever: The Olympic Jordans. I had a choice to get these or the Air Raid’s as a kid, and I ended up getting the Jordan’s. That’s crazy! A lot of things I couldn’t get when I was a kid. I buy what I love now. You know? Why why why wouldn’t um a young man that can do. I don’t go crazy, but I have my fun sometimes. You gotta reward yourself.”

Check out the clip above.

Street life in Chicago:

“Some of my friends are you know still in the street life in Chicago and other places I just keep ‘em in my prayers. Having friends that did whatever they did in the streets and me going to church and understanding what that life is like too. I feel like the knowledge of both is what keeps me alive to this day. To understand something doesn’t mean you have to do it. A lot of ‘em um when I was a kid, and I tried to do whatever I wanted to do They were like ‘B man you rock with us, but you know this ain’t for you man.’ You know what I mean? They were very honest…and I appreciate that because peer pressure can be a lot or just pressure that don’t they don’t even know they giving you as a kid you know it, it could be a lot on your decisions um those decisions can alter your life. I could definitely not be here. Easy…easy…easy.”

Reebok Classic launching new iteration of Allen Iverson’s Question Mid sneaker “Only The Strong Survive”

Reebok’s “Year of the Question,” celebrating the 20th anniversary of Allen Iverson’s landmark signature model, is showing no signs of slowing down yet, as another strong colorway hits the market in early July.

Dubbed the Question Mid “Only The Strong Survive” in reference to Iverson’s lifelong mentality, the vibrant orange colorway of the Question Mid is inspired by his toughness and attention-grabbing style on and off the court.

The Question was designed with Kevlar fibers in the atomic red woven upper with reflective toe caps and tongues referencing his flashy play and ball handling skills. In place of the usual #3 embroidered on the midsole’s heel are two pieces of Iverson’s body art: a bulldog and diamond.

The Question Mid “Only The Strong Survive” will drop for $139.99 on Friday, July 1st at, Jimmy Jazz and Finish Line.

Reebok x Kendrick Lamar Classic Leather Launching July 1st

Reebok Classic continues its collaboration with multi-platinum selling Top Dawg Entertainment artist Kendrick Lamar, launching his third capsule collection, which celebrates one of the brand’s most iconic sneakers, the Classic Leather.

For his third capsule collection, Kendrick Lamar teamed up with designer Ian Paley (of Garbstore fame) to put their spin on the Classic Leather.

The deconstructed aesthetic is highlighted by a longitudinal seam that runs down the shoe separating blue and red. While the split seam continues to tell the unity and neutrality themes that Kendrick has explored with the past two Reebok Capsule collections, the design dives further into Kendrick’s life, representing the significant crossroads that he has faced.

The seam is a metaphor for the major decisions he has been forced to make – from championing gang neutrality throughout his upbringing to using his artistry to make a difference in his own community and the world over.

The Reebok x Kendrick Lamar “Classic Leather” will be available Friday, July 1st, in Adult sizes ($109.99), Grade School ($64.99), Pre-School ($59.99) and Toddler ($41.99). Retailers will include, Shoe Palace and Sneaker Villa.

Honoring Kendrick’s past while celebrating his future, Reebok Classic give students from Compton the opportunity of a lifetime, to be part of his incredible awards experience. Central to what Kendrick stands for is his connection to his fans and his message of inspiration, a message that is shared by Reebok Classic.

Students were invited to spend time with Kendrick, allowing them to share in a personal and highly significant day, ahead of attending the ceremony to watch their idol perform and accept multiple awards. During their time with Kendrick they were given the opportunity to have a Q&A session, during which they learned that he is just as inspired by them as they are by him.

The students captured their journey from Compton to the ceremony, including their candid moments with Kendrick, through a series of imagery and video content.

Kendrick Lamar was nominated for an amazing 11 Awards at last night’s ceremony. An accomplishment that most artists haven’t even come close to touching, Kendrick is a true inspiration with a story to tell. His passion, integrity and authenticity have brought him to where he is today.

Kendrick, stunned audiences worldwide with a legendary performance of “The Blacker Berry” and “Alright,” during which Lamar hit the stage with his crew in white Reebok Classics.

To celebrate Kendrick’s ground breaking achievement and pay tribute to his Compton roots, Reebok Classic treated students from his former high school, Centennial High School, to a once in a lifetime experience which honors Kendrick’s past while celebrating his future. We Like: Reebok Question Mid 20th Anniversary – Question Mid “Unworn”

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of one of the most iconic sneakers of all-time, the Question, Reebok is releasing 20 different colorways throughout the year to commemorate the shoe and the man that introduced it to the world, Allen Iverson.

This Question Mid “Unworn” is modeled after a colorway from 2000 that was originally set to be worn by Allen Iverson in February 2000 during the annual exhibition basketball game that took place in Oakland, CA.

It was set for a global release with major hype in the basketball world as it, along with Iverson, graced the cover of the most popular sneaker magazine. The colorway was ahead of its time, as no one was yet wearing crazy colored sneakers in the game.

After some back and forth with Iverson about wearing the shoes leading up to the game, he ultimately opted not to wear them and this “Unworn” colorway never saw the light of day, making this the Iverson shoe that never was.

Although these sneakers never left Iverson’s duffle bag that day, he went on to be the leading scorer in that game with 26 points, creating a unique story for this pair that was inspired by the 2000 host team in Oakland.

This Question features navy blue nubuck toe and heel hits with a yellow leather upper and a translucent blue outsole with the Reebok Question logo and Iverson’s iconic jersey number 3 on the heel.

The Reebok Question “Unworn ” will release for $140 on Saturday, February 20th in the US at and Finish Line.

As a reminder, the Question Mid OG will launch tomorrowFridayFebruary 12th, for $140 at retailers including, Finish Line and Sneaker Villa.
