Fly Artist Round-Up: Khary x Lege Kale, Jorja Smith & Sabrina Claudio

Khary and Lege Kale (Kyle featuring Lil Yachty “I Spy”) continue their hot streak with the release of “Too Fast,” the latest single from their upcoming project Tidal Graves. Khary weaves together the age-old fable of “The Tortoise & The Hare” into an anthem for the young, ambitious and sometimes reckless. “Just a young nigga trying to get/on a mission/trying to Uma Thruman/Kill Bill it!” he raps, cleverly over an ambient flute sample, layered with filtered vocal samples, arpeggiated synths and bouncy trap-inspired percussion from Lege. The duo recently premiered the first single “Stronger,” via FADER , receiving praise from Hot New Hip Hop, 2 Dope Boyz, RESPECT and much more.

Stream Khary x Lege Kale’s new single “Too Fast,” available on Spotify, Apple Music and Soundcloud now.

Singer/Songwriter Cherri V is back with her new single ‘Without You’ which is produced by Grammy award winning producer Harmony (Jennifer Hudson, Maroon 5 and Ariana Grande). Cherri is a storyteller and in this song she takes us through comedic life moments that most people can relate to, for sure.

The past 18 months have been very busy, Cherri V was featured on Lethal B’s top 20 hit “The Drop,” toured the world with several artists, and recently joined Teedra Moses on her European Paris date, and is currently putting the finishing touches on her long awaited debut album Brown Eyed Soul. This album is her most personal and autobiographical project to date, which is why she wants to present the whole story as a complete album rather than an EP.

The beat is a beautiful soulful number that embraces the voice of Cherri, who releases her full repertoire of vocals on the official single to deliver a mind blowing performance.

SFPL’s Artist Spotlight: Eli Wesse – “Small Talk” [New Music]

[ione_embed src=https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https%3A//api.soundcloud.com/tracks/317114310&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&visual=true service=soundcloud.com width=100 height=450 type=iframe]

When you’re dedicated to pursuing your dreams, sacrifice is necessary. Eli Wesse, a young producer/vocalist from Ann Arbor, Michigan, understands this all too well. With two immigrant parents from the Congo, Eli took the road less-traveled by his family and peers and left home as a young teen to live on his own on the East Coast to pursue music. He eventually moved back home to Michigan to regroup and hone his craft, sacrificing a love interest at the time. Eli captures the resulting sentiments over a slowed, emotive trap beat on his brand new single “Small Talk,” self and co-produced by Arjun Singh (producer for The Voice runner-up Michelle Chamuel’s The Drift EP, which reached #2 on the iTunes Electronic Music chart).

“There was a girl from New York City I dated. I left her and Manhattan to come back to Michigan to get my music off the ground. I never got as deep with her as I wanted. And I guess a lot of things tend to get lost in translation when you live far away. A lot of people (not just her) didn’t really believe how serious I was about music. And a lot of this record is just me clearing the air on a lot of doubt I sensed around me. I wanted people to realize all the sacrifices I made and I wanted her to look up and see… ‘look we’re really doing this.'” – Eli Wesse
