Ne-Yo’s soulful protégé, Candice Boyd teams up with her label mate French Montana to deliver the official visual for the hit single “Damn Good Time.” The feel-good track was produced by Rodney Jerkins and written by Ne-Yo and Candice herself.

Candice tells Rap-Up:

“The track is supposed to remind you of the weekend, a day off, and releasing the stress by hanging out with friends and family, going to the club, having a couple cocktails. The treatment of the video is slightly different, but the song is supposed to give you that good feeling.”

Candice describe the song perfectly as the song does give a great example of the perfect R&B track that will set you in the perfect mood.

Check out the video above.

Watch: History In The Making – “Walk Away” [Fly Visual]

The era of the R&B Boy Bands may just be on a comeback!

Enter into History In The Making, the musical trio that is the brainchild of music mogul, Mark Pitts and Grammy Award winning producer, Rodney Jerkins, who have collectively been influential to the careers of Usher, Chris Brown, Miguel and Brandy among others.

You may remember H.I.T.M. from our SFPL’s Artist Spotlight back in November of 2014:

SFPL’s Artist Spotlight: History In The Making – “T.G.I.F.”

As stated, the group is comprised of Jawan, a 18 year-old vocalist who counts Chris Brown as a mentor, Dylan, a 16 year-old singer/dancer who has sang back-up for Justin Bieber and Pryce, a 16 year-old rapper.

History In The Making debuted their new video/single entitled “Walk Away” on GlobalGrind, which is an ode to the 1985 cult classic movie, The Breakfast Club. Take one listen to “Walk Away’ and you will immediately be brought back to the days when B2K was your secret guilty pleasure and you knew all the choreography to the “In My Bed (So So Def Remix)” video by Dru Hill.

ATL Live!

Soul Train Awards week in Atlanta kicked off right last night at Shanti Das and Marlon Nichols’ ATL LIVE ON THE PARK showcase hosted by Kenny Burns. Surprise performances, sexy ambiance and a room of the music industry’s who’s who made the evening one of the best shows ever!

Attendees included Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, Soul Train Holdings CEO Kenard Gibbs, Doug E. Fresh, Frank Ski, Rodney Jerkins, Dallas Austin, Sister 2 Sister publisher Jamie Foster Brown, New Edition’s Ron Devoe, Chaka Zulu, Catherine Brewton, Kawan Prather and many more!

The show’s featured acts were R&B vet Donell Jones, newcomer Rhonda Nicole and Universal Motown/Darkchild Records girl group Purple Reign. However, guests were treated to impromptu performances by Brownstone’s Nicci Gilbert and Ron Devoe (who took everyone back to “Poison”). But the highlight of the night was Doug E. Fresh, who did his own fly version of Cali Swagg District’s “Teach Me How to Dougie” and sent the crowd into a frenzy. Classic!

The next ATL LIVE ON THE PARK is December 14. For more information, visit
