He put a ring on it! Singer/Actress Demetria McKinney‘s longtime boyfriend Roger Bobb popped the question to Demetria on New Year’s Day in Detroit, MI where McKinney was opening for R.Kelly. McKinney and Bobb have been dating on and off for 9 years and finally he purposed.
The couple are elated and can’t wait to walk down the isle. Wedding plans are for a September ceremony, which we’re sure will take placed in ATL. Another reality special underway perhaps? We shall see!
Congratulations to the happy couple! What a way to bring in the new year!
R&B songstress Demetria McKinney releases her new single and video featuring singer/songwriter Kandi. The song titled “Unnecessary Trouble” premiered last night on Season 8 of Bravo TV‘s Real Housewives of Atlanta where McKinney made a guest appearance. The video was directed by famed photographer Derek Blanks and features RHOA alumni Claudia Jordan.
Regarding the inspiration of the song and video, Demetria had this to say, “Unnecessary Trouble” came from the drama of season 7 of RHOA regarding not only my relationship with my boyfriend, but also the murmurs about Kandi and Todd‘s relationship. The song is an anthem made to remind people that relationships have to be figured out between the people in the relationship.
McKinney is widely known for her role as “Janine Payne” on the hit TBS sitcom Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, which has taped over 254 episodes and received five NAACP Image Awards for Best Sitcom. After her stint with season 7 Real Housewives of Atlanta the eOne Music recording artist has been keeping busy touring with the Pepsi Funkfest and opening for R. Kelly on his Black Panties Tour.
Demetria’s gut wrenching ballad “Trade It All” is currently on the Urban AC charts and her club and radio hit single titled “100.” skyrocketed to #4 and is currently on the iTunes R & B charts. “100” is a hip hop infused women’s anthem featuring one of the rap genre’s first ladies – Da Brat.
Kandi Burruss is a singer-songwriter, television personality, occasional actress, record producer and a former member of the group Xscape. Now, Burruss currently stars as one of six members in the Bravo reality television series The Real Housewives of Atlanta since its second season premiere on July 30, 2009. Kandi will also serve as executive producer on Demetria McKinney’s upcoming LP Officially Yours.
Atlanta’s finest are back. The Real Housewives of Atlanta is back with a few changes. Porsha finally got her peach back, Kim Fields has gained herself a peach and Sheree Whitfield is back in the mix as well. Sunday’s premiere of season 8 was very entertaining. Check out the 8 things we learned from RHOA season 8, ep. 1 after the jump.
Despite the the ladies reconciling their differences in the last few episodes before the reunion (or so we thought), it went down all over again last night. The seating arrangement was a bit different too as we saw Phaedra beside Nene as friends, but let’s go ahead and just jump right in:
We are not sure if we watched the same episode as the world, but we could have sworn everything between the housewives were good. According to the preview that Bravo TV released, things got pretty heated during the reunion. Claudia came for Nene and her hair by calling Nene’s hair ‘thirsty.’
We could have sworn Phaedra and Kenya hashed things out during the women’s trip to Manilla; but the clip shows Phae Phae calling Kenya a ‘whore.’ Guess they just got along for the trip.
This reunion is going to be interesting. Check out the clip below.
TK N Cash stops by SFPL‘s own Stuff Fly People Like TV to drop a few gems on Reality TV, Fashion, Kanye West‘s new clothing line and the Yeezy Boost, wanting to work with Drake and J. Cole and more.
When asked: “which reality star they would have to leave alone to get their mind right?,” one half of TKNC had an interesting response about #RHOA’s Porsha Williams.
We’re sure you all have seen, or at least heard about the epic battle between Nene Leaks and Claudia Jordan on The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Sunday night. So many reads with several degrees of shade were thrown around in so many different directions, we could barely keep up!
Mama Joyce may be able to put away her boxing gloves, vaseline and pocket of hatred, as her daughter’s (Kandi Burress of RHOA) now newly husband has a new gig!
