Artist Mali Music Announces Upcoming Album ‘The Transition of Mali…’

GRAMMY Award nominated artist Mali Music announces today the release of his highly-anticipated new album The Transition of Mali on June 2nd via ByStorm Entertainment/RCA Records. The 13-track album shows the evolution of Mali Music as an artist, as he explores different sounds while also maintaining his soulful R&B core. The album’s pre-order will be available on May 12th.

“Gonna Be Alright,” the first track released off of the album, has garnered significant buzz, including coverage from Billboard who stated, “…the R&B savant eloquently captures the various emotions tied to everyday matters of life and love.” The singer is set to perform in Oakland, CA at the New Parish on Thursday, May 11th and Los Angeles on Friday, May 12th at The Mint. Tickets are available for purchase on ticketweb.com.

GRAMMY Award nominated R&B singer Mali first emerged from the underground in 2008 with the release of his debut album The Coming, followed in 2009 by The 2econd Coming. With a refreshing talent and original synthesis of contemporary styles, Mali Music garnered national buzz for his much-discussed performance at the 2011 BET Awards on the Music Matters stage. Since then, Mali Music, who is signed to Mark Pitts’ ByStorm Entertainment imprint, has toured the country, performed on the BET Experience Music Matters Stage and at the Essence Music festival as well as on TV on Late Night with Seth Meyers and American Idol. Mali’s major label debut album Mali Is…, which included his top 10 single “Beautiful,” debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and became a favorite among critics including The New York Times, NPR, VIBE and Complex as well as Stuff Fly People Like among others. This album and single led to two Grammy nominations for “Best Gospel Performance/Song” and “Best Urban Contemporary Album.” Additionally, Mali’s tracks “Contradiction” featuring Jhené Aiko and “Sit Down For This” were featured on the soundtrack to Spike Lee’s much-talked about film CHI-RAQ.

Last Night In NYC: Bryson Tiller Performs at SOB’s for Two ‘Sold Out’ Shows

Last Night In NYC…Invading the local NY entertainment & music hotspot, SOB’s, artist Bryson Tiller brought his entire T R A P S O U L project to the stage, as he performed for not ONE, but TWO of his ‘SOLD OUT’ shows.

Guided us right down Tiller Ave, Bryson delivered hits from his album like: “Rambo”, Ten Nine Fourteen”, “For However Long”, and more along with his major record that broke his stardom streak, “Don’t”.

During Bryson’s set, the talented artist kept his signature mysterious vibe visually in effect, with subtle flashes of colorful undertones and clouds of smoke, not giving off too much for the visible eye — but just enough to draw you into the feel of love, art, passion and pain of his music. Think, the stages of a T R I P P Y  L I F E. A roller-coaster of testimonials.

New Video: DEE-1 – “I’M NOT PERFECT (I’M A CHRISTIAN)”

This week, SONY/RCA Inspiration artist, Dee-1, released a new music video for his single, “I’m Not Perfect (I’m a Christian).” The song is from the artist’s new EP, 3’s UP, which is available now on iTunes.

“I feel passionately about this new video, “I’m Not Perfect (I’m a Christian),” said Dee-1. “I am excited fans are finally getting the chance to view it.”

The video provides fans with a unique glimpse into the artist that is Dee-1. In it, the New Orleans artist explores how his quest for happiness led him down a dark path as personal insecurities and suicidal thoughts took hold. Tempted by the trappings of any young man, the rapper admits to struggling with living a purpose driven life within an industry that often glorifies the opposite. With the promise of fame and fortune, women and quick satisfaction, it is difficult to remain loyal to your vision. Dee-1, however, resists, gaining the courage to turn down top industry executives that would rather have him compromise himself than live within his truth.

“Like I said in my song, ‘I’m not perfect,’” said Dee-1 to Yahoo! Music. “I try to live to one standard, but I am also my own worst contradiction in certain aspects. I am who I am, take it or leave it.”

This new video is only the latest in a string of releases put out by the rapper. Dee-1 has made a name for himself by being one of the few newer artists that are not only skilled lyricists but also socially conscious. Over the years Dee-1 has performed alongside everyone from Lil Wayne to Drake,Macklemore, Killer Mike, and more. He recently signed to Sony’s imprint RCA Inspiration and is ready to use this platform to embolden his fans. He is currently working on his major label debut album.

“This is an exciting time,” said Dee-1. “I am making music I feel is authentic to me and that my fans can be proud of. My goal is to provide my fans with music that will uplift them and give them the power to stand-up for themselves. With the music I have been working on, I think I will be able to do that.”

NEW VIDEO: R. CITY FEAT. ADAM LEVINE – “LOCKED AWAY”

From working on chart-topping hits for artists like: Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Becky G., Fergie, Usher, Jamie Fox, Mila J., Fifth Harmony, Juicy J, Drake and more — R. City steps back into the light with more of their personal music. Today, the duo chimes-in with a new visual to the official hit single “Locked Away” featuring Maroon 5 and The Voice‘s Adam Levine.

The St. Thomas natives will be dropping a new EP later this summer via Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records/RCA Records.

As far as music, expect the complete unexpected. We have been putting in time and dedication for years and shaping our sound to make it one-of-a-kind. We have finally figured it out and our music sounds like nothing else that is not out there right now. If you heard the first single, we want people to know that there are many different styles that make up Rock City, but its nothing confusing. We have a hip-hop fused with caribbean culture sound and that includes everything from the rapping point and the melodic point. The people are going to be really excited about our new collaborations coming up so the fans have to stay tuned!

Last Night In NYC: Bridget Kelly, Mack Wilds, Jordan Bratton & more Perform at SOB’s

LAST NIGHT IN NYC…Singer/Songwriter Bridget Kelly held a premiere music showcase in honor of her independent official EP release entitled Summer of 17.

Honing the title of the night, Bridget Kelly & Friends, BK invited a few of her talented music cohorts to hit the stage along with her. Performing for the evening were the likes of: Mack Wilds, Nick Cannon‘s protege Kreesha Turner [Ncredible Ent.], Jordan Bratton [RCA], Ro James and more.

Bridget performed a plethora of her past EP hits and new songs from the current ‘#SO17’ project. The crowd literally tagged onto every lyric, as the songstress sung her out leaving on-lookers in amazement.

Kelly now journeys on a new path, sans Roc Nation in hopes to conquer more music experiences, while gaining solo success.

The era of the R&B Boy Bands may just be on a comeback!

Enter into History In The Making, the musical trio that is the brainchild of music mogul, Mark Pitts and Grammy Award winning producer, Rodney Jerkins, who have collectively been influential to the careers of Usher, Chris Brown, Miguel and Brandy among others.

As stated, the group is comprised of Jawan, a 18 year-old vocalist who counts Chris Brown as a mentor, Dylan, a 16 year-old singer/dancer who has sang back-up for Justin Bieber and Pryce, a 16 year-old rapper.

History In The Making debuted their new video/single entitled “Walk Away” on GlobalGrind, which is an ode to the 1985 cult classic movie, The Breakfast Club. Take one listen to “Walk Away’ and you will immediately be brought back to the days when B2K was your secret guilty pleasure and you knew all the choreography to the “In My Bed (So So Def Remix)” video by Dru Hill.

Fly News: Leikeli47 To Debut New Project via Hard Cover/ RCA Records

Following a string of buzzing #SXSW performances, the musical wunderkind Leikeli47 (pronounced Leh-Kay-Lee) will release her new eponymous project on April 21st via Hard Cover/RCA Records. Leikeli47 will feature previously released material, brand new tracks and videos.

The project is currently available for pre-order at select digital music providers with instant music and video downloads of “Heard Em Say,” “F**k The Summer Up,” and “Elian’s Theme, Based on a True Story.”  The new version of the “Heard Em Say” video can be viewed here.

Leikeli47 made her musical introduction with her self-produced mixtape, Lk-47 (2012). The 11-track mixtape garnered initial buzz due to her hard-hitting beats and fiery lyrical delivery, highlighted on the attention-grabbing track “Miss America.” Her 2014 follow-up project, Lk-47 pt. II, further propelled the self-proclaimed communicator’s burgeoning career with fan favorite tracks and visuals for “C&C,” “Elian’s Theme, Based on a True Story” and “F**k  The Summer Up” – the latter which caught the attention of EDM heavyweights Skrillex and Diplo who enlisted her to perform the track during their recent New Year’s Eve concert at Madison Square Garden.

Fans can check out Leikeli47’s energetic performance at the Electric Daisy Carnival in New York on May 23rd and Las Vegas June 19-21, and the Osheaga Festival Musique et Arts on July 31 and August 1-2 at Montreal’s Parc Jean-Drapeau.
