It has been announced today, that The View co-host Raven-Symone will be departing the daytime show to venture back to her old stomping grounds of That’s So Raven, a reprise at The Disney Channel.

Raven’s departure has been very low-key until now, as Symone only visited the show’s panel about once a week, if that, as she was slowly phasing out.

Via Variety:

Symoné will relocate from New York City to Los Angeles for the spinoff, in which she’s set to star and serve as an executive producer. She will reprise her role as the psychic Raven Baxter, who was last seen as a teenager on the show that ran on Disney Channel from 2003 to 2007.

As for “The View,” Symoné’s departure is not a surprise. She was already being phased out this season, only appearing about once a week. But with the show having endured a revolving door of host changes in the past few years, ABC sought to find a low-key exit for the actress. It’s understood that Symone’s departure will be addressed at the start of today’s edition of “The View.”

At this moment, it is unclear if Raven will be replaced.

Adam Bonnett, Exec VP of Original Programming for Disney Channels Worldwide said:

“Raven’s brilliant style of fearless comedy was a driving force for Disney Channel’s success around the world. Her performance in ‘That’s So Raven’ is timeless. We now have our eyes on the future with her, and we’re looking forward to telling more stories for a new generation with an adult Raven Baxter raising her young family.”

In the spinoff, “Raven” will play a divorced mother of two pre-teen kids, one of whom has inherited her ability to catch glimpses of the future.

The show is being developed by writing and producing partners Scott Thomas and Jed Elinoff, who are the creators Disney Channel’s Best Friends Whenever.

Entertainment The Daily Word

The Word: Raven Symone Calls Out Her Online Bullies…

“I’m not an African-American, I’m an American.”

These are the words that have been haunting actress, Raven Symone after she uttered them in an interview with Oprah for her “Oprah Where Are They Now?” show.

Ok, Gurl.

As one would expect, Raven has received a lot of backlash from fans (and non-fans) since making the controversial comments. She’s now claiming that she’s a victim of online bullying and has penned an open letter on her Facebook account, addressing the hurtful things people have posted about her online.

She wrote:

I don’t take offense to those that are mad at my personal opinion of myself. Like before, I’m glad there are conversations happening. Our generation tends to stay comfortable ,at times, with issues and topics that need to be addressed.

QUESTION: If we are taught not to repeat history by learning it. Why do we continue to repeat? We must not be learning it correctly.

What does irritate me is the bulling tone towards myself and other opinions in the blog. Keep your disrespectful, mean, hurtful, words in a diary for yourself. Personal attacking is not needed, and no matter what race, nationality, culture, or womb you came out of; strive for respect. Strive to be virtuous, so the conversation can lead to great things, other things.

Our ancestors of all races had the courage to stand up for what they believed in no matter what the fight. Back then I hope the motto wasn’t…”the more haters the better”

We have reached a standstill in our progression as Humans. Let’s have a floor of RESPECT, KINDNESS, OPENMINDED-nESS. Showing your disagreement with my personal comments by using language you were not allowed to use as a child is just.

My momma reads this, and so do others. #bully

Now Raven, we here at SFPL do NOT condone bullying of any sort. But remember…

Weekend FLY Lights: “Songstress Edition…”

Yes, Raven-Symone was once a songstress… A rapper too, if i’m not mistaken!!

Spotted at the Glitz and Glam Gala Presented By Grey Goose Vodka, in Kentucky this weekend, Raven definitely showed off her new, svelte figure!! She could’ve turned down that eye shadow a bit, but she still looks great…

Also seen on the scene, Kelly Rowland dined, and had a mini personal photo shoot, in Eva Longoria’s restaurant,  Beso Steakhouse At Crystals CityCenter in Las Vegas on Saturday.

You know, we really like Kelly, and her song Motivation ft Lil Wayne is dope, but she always looks a mess!

And absolutely never, but for once, has had on a good shoe. Her shoes always makes me think she’s going to bust out in dance at any moment!! SMH!

Christina Milian is always a stunner when she steps out. A fresh faced beauty, she celebrated Mother’s Day with her equally gorgeous mom at The 3rd Annual On the Go Beauty Mother’s Day Celebration in Hollywood.

Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian (Kim is the songstress), attended the City of Hope 2011 Spirit of Life Awards in Hollywood this weekend…

What a f*ckin family picture!” *Lil Wayne voice*

Someone needs to tell Kris Jenner to trade those sneakers for her age, because she looks crazy. She looks like Usher...
