Janelle Monae and the Wondaland Arts Society takes a stand on #BlackLivesMatter.

Using their music capabilities as an ultra force, the Wonda-Team takes their thoughts to the streets of Philly and New York against police brutality with the sounds of “Hell You Talmbout.”

On Instagram, Janelle says about the song:

This song is a vessel. It carries the unbearable anguish of millions. We recorded it to channel the pain, fear, and trauma caused by the ongoing slaughter of our brothers and sisters. We recorded it to challenge the indifference, disregard, and negligence of all who remain quiet about this issue. Silence is our enemy. Sound is our weapon. They say a question lives forever until it gets the answer it deserves… Won’t you say their names?

Listen: Singer Sammie Sings About The Unrest In Our Country With “Dear:America” [Fly Music]

Singer/Songwriter Sammie puts his pen to the test, as he speaks up about racial discrimination through song. The country has been in such a tragic unrest mode, paired with the recent happenings in Baltimore. The question remains: ‘Is it safe anymore?’

What’s so wrong with my skin, that i’m in, that i’m in…

Nothing’s wrong with my skin, that i’m in, that i’m in…

Dear, America…

Sammie says:

“I couldn’t sleep last night. I tossed and turned because my brothers and sisters were not at peace. I found myself questioning America: ‘What’s wrong with the skin I’m in?’ I hope this melody will be a voice for the voiceless. Prayers to Baltimore and to the unrest in our country.”
