Bobby Shmurda Accepts Plea Deal, Will Serve 7 Years In Prison

After debating heavily about in court about the stance of Bobby Shmurda‘s murder conspiracy case, it has come to our knowledge that the Brooklyn rapper and his team of lawyers accepted the plea deal where Shmurda will spend seven years in prison and five years probation.

According to TMZ:

Bobby Shmurda just pled guilty in his murder conspiracy case.

Shmurda, has been jailed since December 2014 in a case where more than 15 defendants were charged with various crimes, including murder, attempted murder and drug dealing.

The rapper was originally charged with conspiracy to commit murder and several weapons and drug charges associated with gangs.

According to the deal, Shmurda pled to conspiracy to possess weapons and possession of a weapon. The other charges were dismissed, and he’ll get 7 years in prison and 5 years probation.

A TMZ producer was in court, and heard Shmurda’s lawyer speak with his client and other defendants, imploring them to take the deal because they’d never get a sympathetic jury and they were facing life in prison.

Shmurda’s case became a cause celebre, where other rappers were calling for his release.

Hopefully, Bobby will be on his best behavior during his time in prison with the hopes of being released before his seven year time is up. Much luck to him. We’re praying for him, his close family and friends. This should be a lesson well-learned for the what was a rising rap star.

The Word: Meek Mill Has Been Found Guilty of Violating Parole, Faces Prison Time In 2016

Meek Mill Shouts Out Drake During Concert

Just when the MMG artist was trying to get his life in order, the devil comes right back to terrorize his life, once again. Meek Mill was in court today in philly on behalf of a so-called probation violation. Nicki Minaj was also in tow to show support, as they both attended the hearing for about an hour — where Meek testified.

Pleading his case in an emotional state, Meek says:

“I’m not a gangsta. I’m not a criminal. I have my queen, Nicki.I’m trying to do better and feel like I can be the best rapper out there.”

Unfortunately, Judge Brinkley wasn’t going for it and ruled he was in “technical violation.” Mill even tried to lighten the moment and mention that he was nominated for a Grammy for a song that was placed on the CREED soundtrack, Brinkley replied:

“He’s in consideration! He’s not nominated.”

The entire courtroom wasn’t too happy about the judges comment, as someone yelled out: “HATER!”

Keep you head up Meek!

What else can happen behind the Rikers Island walls and bars? Well, sneaking in a shank might be one prime example.

NY Daily News reports, “Hot Boy” and Brooklyn native rapper Bobby Shmurda [20], whose already in jail facing massive gun and drug trafficking charges has been arrested on-site after his girlfriend, Kimberly Rousseau [18] was seen slipping him a shank during a visit, officials said Saturday.

Kimberly [such a smart cookie], pull out a black latex glove balloon wrapped in black electrical tape out of her bra and handed it to Bobby. The guard opened the balloon and found a “sharpened metal object” according to a criminal complaint. Both were charged with “promoting prison contraband.”

Sigh. Obviously, Bobby’s “ride-or-die” got a glimpse of an old western film, and came up with this bright idea.

Of course, Kimberly plead guilty to promoting prison contraband and criminal possession of a weapon. She is due back in court next month.

Bobby is currently still sitting on a $2 million bail, and has yet to come up with the money.

Stay tuned for more details on this situation.
