And Another One, Drake’s ‘Summer Sixteen Tour’ Makes History

Drake continues to add to his already impressive list of 2016 achievements.

The 6 God jumped on Instagram to reveal that his Summer Sixteen Tour is the highest-grossing hip-hop tour in history.

Dethroning Jay Z and Kanye West‘s 2012 Watch the Throne Tour which grossed $75.6 million, Drizzy’s Future-assisted trek grossed $84.3 million, according to Pollstar. An impressive feat considering Summer Sixteen included 56 dates to Watch the Throne‘s 63

Landing the No. 11th spot, the OVO boss nearly nabbed a top 10 spot coming in behind Celine Dion‘s $85.5 million. The Rolling Stones, Garth Brooks, Paul McCartney, Justin Bieber, Adele, Guns N’ Roses, Coldplay, Beyoncé, and Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band finish off the top 10 in order from lowest to highest.

Kanye West (No. 29, $52.8 million), Macklemore and Ryan Lewis (No. 75, $23.9 million), Salt-N-Pepa/Vanilla Ice (No. 79, $21 million), and Puff Daddy and the Family (No. 95, $17.5 million) also made the list.

Drake’s currently gearing up for his Boy Meets World Tour, which kicks off Jan. 21 in Amsterdam with special guest Young Thug.

The Man Behind Kanye West’s “All Day”: VELOUS

The much-anticipated record has hit the music scene in CDQ form and everyone has been going nuts! Trending for the last 24 hours, Kanye West‘s “All Day” has sent social media into a complete frenzy.

Originator of the track, producer-singer-rapper Velous aka Tyler Bryant told MTV:

“I started putting the track together last summer. I made that beat on my boy’s couch while I was watching Saturday Night Live. I worked on that and I had the main part of it, I already had the skeleton of it [and] it was for my big bro French Montana. I guess Kanye was rocking with it, so he gave it to Kanye and they added some more. Kanye went in, French added some stuff to it and I co-produced it with my big bro.”

In case you didn’t know…French signed Velous to his Coke Boys imprint last year, which is now a joint venture with Swanky Music Group. Since then, Velous has appeared on and produced records for rapper Chinx, Fabolous and DJ Spinking.

To have placements on such top-tier projects, the young artist/producer is well on his way to becoming a household name.

Production credits of “All Day” includes:

Kanye West, Paul McCartney, Tyler Bryant (Velous), Kendrick Lamar, Karim Kharbouch, Cydel Young, Victor Mensah, Mike Dean, Che Pope, Noah Goldstein, Allen Ritter, Mario Winans, Charles Njapa, Malik Yusef Jones, Patrick Reynolds, Ernest Brown & Noel Ellis.

Now today, the visual has been premiered and it is indeed #CrashingTheInternet!

In the visual, both Rih and Ye rock all-jean-everything with a bit of a stripped silhouette, while rocking army boots. Kanye, actually came up with the concept, which was inspired by The Beatles.

Paul, is also in the same jean-family, but he’s wears a more clean-crisp traditional black jean set. We love the fact that McCartney plays more of the incognito guitarist and there’s more of a focal point on Rih-Rih and West. The visual is definitely a classic.
