#NYFW: Russell Westbrook Gives 5 Tips On How To Win Over Fashion Week

Russell Westbrook delivered his swag, full-throttle as street style photographers during New York Fashion Week took plenty of photos of the styled basketball star.

The 6-foot-3 NBA frontman is consistently one of the most visible stylish athletes on the front row every #NYFW season. While, not as busy on the courts with his fellow Oklahoma City Thunder teammates, Westbrook is busy taking over his role as guest fashion director of Barneys New York.

In the video, Russell gives his best stylish NYC survival tips on how to navigate the endless schedule of shows and parties. He mentions, multiple clothing changes, being on time for EVERY show, refueling throughout the day and more.

NARS + PAPER MAGAZINE CELEBRATE THE 1000 BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE ISSUE DURING NYFW

Fashion and music influencers partied at the Gilded Lily in Manhattan to celebrate PAPER Magazine’s September issue, 1000 Beautiful People. The golden nightclub was transformed into a ‘70s disco drawing references from NARS new Velvet Lip Glide collection that pays homage to iconic venues and the attitude that emerged from the sexual revolution.

Guests enjoyed a performance by #1 selling Travis Scott and danced under the modern chandelier and lasers to a DJ set by Chase B. — Rick Ross, Mario, Ameriie and Juicy J also hopped on the mic, adding hype to an excited crowd.

#NYFW: Laura Govan Hosts #OnTrendExperience Designers Showcase, Tyson Beckford Attends As ‘Guest Of Honor’

With the #NYFW frenzy in full throttle, VIP guests converged on Jay Z’s 40/40 Club in Manhattan for #OnTrendExperience.

The Showcase & Shopping event was hosted by Fashionista/TV Personality Laura Govan’s #InRealLife Clothing. The beauty ushered in some other sizzling hot #OnTrend designers to share the fashion week spotlight with her including Brazilian Swim Designer A.Z Araujo, Designer Bianca Stewart of Jesse Queen Collection, Shoe Designer Stella Hues, Platinum Image Boutique, KIEU CLERVOIX, Destination 1610 and YEROC eyewear.

The affair began with an intimate #InRealLife Style Experience tutorial facilitated by Laura Govan & Wardrobe-Style Expert Daniel Hawkins known for his impeccable work with clients including La La Anthony, Tamar Braxton, Fantasia and Nene Leakes to name a few.

NYC’s Primrose Couture Events, Event Engineers NYC & Gumball Necklace Divas transformed the entire venue into a beautiful showcase and shopping paradise with sounds by Brazilian powerhouse DJ Erick Faria.

Supermodel Tyson Beckford was the event’s “Guest of Honor” and made his rounds to each Designer’s suite for a private VIP showcase. Guests were treated with gift bags featuring Lancome perfumes and products, #InRealLife Clothing, The Happy Hour with Heather B. products, Vera Moore Cosmetics and Skincare products, Core Water, barkTHINS and Bitsy Bop.

#OnTrendExperience was produced and presented by The Julien Management Group, The 40/40 Club & Platinum Image Boutique.

Newly appointed Barneys Fashion Director, Russell Westbrook continued to make his rounds and attended the SS17 Altuzarra and SS17 Prabal shows alongside the Barneys team. The fashion innovator and NBA Star ended the evening at the “UNRAVEL” launch event and a private dinner in honor of Ben Taverniti, hosted by Barneys New York.

New Music: Margie – “New Sh*t”

The artist and street style maven Margie is releasing her single ‘New Shit’, available on Spotify & Itunes’ now.

After an eventful New York Fashion Week where Margie’s been spotted with the likes of Timbaland, Pharrell, The Weekend and Ilovemakonnen, Margie hosted an NYFW End All Release Party at the REC Room at No. 8.

‘New Shit’ is Margies first single following up her smash debut album Radio Ratchet. The track is produced by the Norwegian platinum producer Harald Austad and released by the indie label Supervillain.
