Combat Jack Talks Growing Up in Brooklyn, His Love for NYC, and More on EP 3 of ‘Clever In The City’

[ione_embed src=https://www.youtube.com/embed/57kqIoNDQ7I service=youtube width=560 height=315 type=iframe]

“Is New York City in love me?” These days Combat Jack finds himself pondering this very question.

As the former Editor in Chief of The Source and now as the host of The Combat Jack Show and Founding partner of the Loudspeakers Podcast Network, Jack has become an industry honcho through the pursuit of his creative endeavors.

In “The Art of Combat,” episode 3 of the Dinner Land Network’s budding series Clever In The City; he sits down with Cleverly Chloé to discuss his upbringing, whether he believes you can find a balance between love and creativity, which Sex and the City character he relates to most, his love for the Big Apple, and more.

On Creativity vs Love:

“I think both because if you’re creating then there is love. If you’re fortunate enough to be in that pocket in New York City [because] New York City doesn’t stimulate creativity and love as much as it did before. It stimulates capitalism.”

On which Sex and the City character he would date:

“Carrie because Carrie was I think out of all of them in the cast she was the most down to earth out of all of the characters on Sex and the City. I think all of the other characters were like caricatures, but I felt when I watched that show like Carrie spoke to me the most. It doesn’t help that she was the star of the show, but she spoke to me the most. I understood her world more than I did the others.”

Azealia Banks Struts Around The City In “The Big Big Beat”

Azealia Banks has taken a break, though brief from sparking controversy on social media to release the video for her dance hit “Big Big Beat.” Off of her Slay-Z mixtape released back in March, Banks takes things to the NYC streets as she struts and sashays down a project hallway, dances on top of a cop car, and in front of a court house. The 212 sports her signature long black locks while rocking three fierce and distinct outfits. Banks bubbly and silly personality can be seen throughout. If only she would let that shine through on social media.

Watch Azealia Banks dope visual for “The Big Big Beat” below. We’re sure this track is guaranteed to be one of this Summer’s anthems.

DMX Arrested AGAIN…In New York City Right Before His Performance

Mychal Watts/WireImage

UPDATE:

More information has been reported on DMX‘s recent arrest, as to why he did not make it to the Master of Ceremony show at Radio City Hall, where he was scheduled to perform.

Long story short, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office told PIX 11 that DMX was actually taken into custody for “several issues outstanding.” Sheesh.

Reasons for Arrest:

1) Earl Simmons was issued an arrest warrant by the Erie County Family Court for $400,000 worth of unpaid child support, the spokesman said.

2) Another arrest warrant was issued to Simmons, this time by the city of White Plains for bail jumping. The city of Yonkers is accusing the veteran rapper of being an aggravated unlicensed motor vehicle operator; and a criminal complaint out of Newark, N.J., names DMX as a suspect in an April 5th robbery at a gas station in that city, the sheriff’s office said.

He was arrested at 10:30 p.m. in Manhattan by sheriff’s office deputies.

Things aren’t looking good for DMX at this point. Not sure how he will work his way out of this one.

More information to come as story develops.

Earl Simmons aka DMX just can’t seem to stay out of trouble. It looks like the veteran rapper has been arrested again, right in New York City.

Pix 11 reported, that the 44-year-old rapper and Yonkers native has been arrested in NYC [today] Friday night, according to the New York County Sheriff’s Office.

What prompted the arrest is in question as the details are limited at the moment.

DMX was slated to perform at 8 p.m. at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan for the Masters of Ceremony concert featuring Shabba Ranks, The LOX, Rakim, Ma$e, Pete Rock, & CL Smooth, Brand Nubian and Das EFX.

Unfortunately, DMX didn’t hit the stage.

More details to follow.
