Fresh off her appearance on the 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards cypher, Young M.A. stopped by Music Choice to discuss her inaugural cypher and spit the verses that didn’t air.
Feeling a tad disappointed viewers didn’t get to hear the complete cypher, especially after ensuring she delivered her best; the Brooklyn emcee breaks down her opening verse and what followed the verse that did air.

“Before I start spitting these bars I want ya’ll to know I’m a problem / Please be alarmed / I’m that chick you can’t bring around your sister and moms / I’m might just grab they ass griper than palm / Don’t feel offended this is just me on the norm / I like to speak my mind I don’t mean any harm / No chain on my neck no watch on my arm / None of that designer shit my apparel is calm”
We can definitely understand M.A.’s discontent because she offered up plenty of bars. Watch Young M.A. spit the verses that didn’t make the cut above.

Tory Lanez On Learning How to Sing:
“I started singing when I was like 17 really. I actually was really bad at singing…I actually sucked you know it was just one of those things where I just you know singing is like a muscle. Your vocals are like a muscle, and the more you do sing is the better you get at them. I guess because I didn’t have someone to show me the way to really sing it just made me sing in my own kind of way which gave me a unique voice. Some people say there’s like a softness or like a cotton kind of rasp to my voice sometimes, but I think it’s just cause that’s how I taught myself to sing.”
Tory Lanez On Production at His Shows:
“I came up uh not having anything. Like not having no background singers…no production and lights and all this stuff…like I’m the type of dude who goes venue to venue and meets the sound man and the light man that night now that there is a big production going on I’m just like… wow! The possibilities now because I’ve worked so hard at making my main set so crazy without production that now that the production is here, it’s going to look amazing.”

Sneakers as a Kid:
“Man I remember tryna get school shoes as a kid. It was a set amount of money for me to get shoes with. You know clothes, you gon…you gon get what you get, but shoes you had this much money. So if you wanna add and add to this to get something better than what you know you can get with this, then you do so. *pointing to sneakers* My first pair of Jordan’s ever. These are my first pair of Jordan’s ever: The Olympic Jordans. I had a choice to get these or the Air Raid’s as a kid, and I ended up getting the Jordan’s. That’s crazy! A lot of things I couldn’t get when I was a kid. I buy what I love now. You know? Why why why wouldn’t um a young man that can do. I don’t go crazy, but I have my fun sometimes. You gotta reward yourself.”

Street life in Chicago:
“Some of my friends are you know still in the street life in Chicago and other places I just keep ‘em in my prayers. Having friends that did whatever they did in the streets and me going to church and understanding what that life is like too. I feel like the knowledge of both is what keeps me alive to this day. To understand something doesn’t mean you have to do it. A lot of ‘em um when I was a kid, and I tried to do whatever I wanted to do They were like ‘B man you rock with us, but you know this ain’t for you man.’ You know what I mean? They were very honest…and I appreciate that because peer pressure can be a lot or just pressure that don’t they don’t even know they giving you as a kid you know it, it could be a lot on your decisions um those decisions can alter your life. I could definitely not be here. Easy…easy…easy.”
