Let’s just start this post off by saying this right here is the reason WE LOVE THE INTERNET! We know you need a break from the shenanigans going on during this years Presidential Election and here it is. By now you probably binge-watched Luke Cage’s entire first season on Netflix and if you haven’t what the hell are you waiting for?
Well anyway if by chance you were ever wondering how Luke Cage would look to the opening theme of Family Matters (chances are you weren’t) someone took the liberty to quell that notion. YouTube user Zach Ace who is already famous for mashing up The Avengers with Full House is at it again. We don’t know how exactly he got this to perfectly mesh together so well but we are not complaining cause we love it!
Do yourself a favor and watch it above, over and over and over again cause it’s that good. We won’t judge you at all for doing so.
weet Christmas! A lot of folks will be saying Luke’s famous catchphrase  come September 30th when Luke Cage officially premieres on NETFLIX.
Luke Cage takes place several months following the events of Jessica Jones. Luke relocates from Hell’s Kitchen to Harlem for a fresh start. He looks to keep a relatively low profile by working in the local barbershop owned by Pops (Frankie Faison) who is loved in the neighborhood. Night’s Luke works at a nightclub washing dishes that just happens to be owned by Harlem crime lord Cornell “Cottenmouth” Stokes (Mahershala Ali).
Marvel’s Luke Cage
His peaceful life quickly changes when a bunch of local youngsters get involved in some shady business that turns deadly. Those events lead to Cage making the decision of having to come out of hiding and put to use his amazing abilities to keep the streets of Harlem safe.
We got a chance to screen the upcoming Netflix series and broke down five FLY reasons you will be binge watching Luke Cage. Yup Netflix and chill season is really upon us hit the links below for the breakdown.
emember when you used to have the schoolyard debate about if your favorite superhero fought each other who would win? It was a debate for the ages ,cases were made and lines were drawn as to why that hero was a shoo-in for victory. The Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe deliver in an epic way that debate and perfectly translate it onto the big screen in Captain America: Civil War based off the Mark Millar comic.
Essentially what could be billed as Avengers 2.5, Civil War is the movie Age of Ultron failed to be. Civil War tells the story of a team split on ideologies after the U.N. decides The Avengers need to be held in check after a series of unfortunate blunders while trying to prevent catastrophic events. Tony Stark (Robert Downy Jr.) is immediately on board with the U.N.’s idea and is quickly followed by the Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson), the always logical sentient robot Vision (Paul Bettany), loyal friend War Machine (Don Cheadle), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) who’s only there for his own personal reasons  and M.C.U. newcomer Spider-Man (Tom Holland) who sees this is as the audition of a lifetime. Captain America (Chris Evans) want’s nothing to do with the U.N.’s plan as he senses something foul is going on and sees it as a form of control and limitation decides to go rogue, he’s not alone though Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olson), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Bucky aka The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) and Falcon (Anthony Mackie) follow his lead.
There is a villain in this film of course and that is Baron Zemo (Daniel Brühl) who is fixed on knowing what happened in Bucky’s past in the year 1991 while he was still an assassin for Hydra.
Where the Russo brothers flourish is with the help of an amazing script thanks to Christoper Markus and Stephen McFeeley. The two and half hour movie never drags along and effectively builds the characters while at the same time keeping you on the edge of your seat with new revelations and plot twists. The action scenes all deliver especially the huge showdown between both teams which is comic book fan’s dream. All participants in the battle get their time to shine and show off their amazing skills.
Civil War also tells a great story of two friendships one on the mend Bucky and Cap and one deteriorating before our eyes Tony and Steve.
The dialogue between two has always been great on-screen but it’s exceptional in this film and will make you invest in their dynamic even more.
As for the newcomers, (Beanz speaking) I was very nervous as to how the Black Panther and Spider-Man would be introduced into the M.C.U (Marvel Cinematic Universe). I left the theater very happy and fans of both characters will enjoy them both as they both shined tremendously in their debuts. Holland nails it as the very young Spider-Man and will help you easily forget about previous versions of the character played on film.
Boseman stepped up to the plate and knocks it out the park as the young ruler of Wakanda. Civil War is just as much as his coming out party as he plays a very integral role in the film. Fans of the Black Panther comics will be very pleased to see how well he translates from the comics to film and will walk out the theater excited for his cinematic future.
VERDICT:
Captain America: Civil War somehow manages to outdo Winter Soldier which in its own right was damn near perfect. It’s hard trying to find anything wrong with this film period, if you do, you definitely was searching hard. Civil War is The Avengers film fans of the M.C.U. have been waiting and hoping for since Age of Ultron was such a “let down” to some. It’s the perfect kick off for Marvel’s Phase 3 movie block and if this is a sign of things to come then we are in for a treat. Captain America: Civil War definitely  starts off the summer movie season with a bang and you can guarantee lives up to it’s blockbuster status!
5 out 5

New York Comic Con came and conquered New York City once again this year this past weekend. Not sure if it was in record numbers like last year but as you can see from the photo above there was A LOT people there! Comic book enthusiast flock to the Jacob K Javits center to catch a glimpse of their favorite artist, actors, play new video games but most importantly costumes.Â
Ant-Man is by no stretch of the imagination Marvel’s most popular or exciting character. He’s not Spider-Man, Iron Man or Captain America by a long-shot. Hell when this film was announced movie enthusiast didn’t even understand why Marvel Studios was making this movie.

Comic book enthusiast know the importance of Ant-Man to the Avengers as Hank Pym is one of the founder members of the super team. Director Peyton Reed manages to shine a light on one of Marvel’s goofiest characters and Paul Rudd injects life into the character in only way he knows how with witty humor.
Ant-Man opens up in the year 1989, a much younger Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) walking into a gathering with some familiar faces. At the round table sits Tony Stark’s father Howard Stark (John Slattery), Peggy Carter a.k.a. Agent Carter and Mitchell Carson ( Martin Donovan). Pym is clearly not too happy with his friends at S.H.I.E.L.D. who want to weaponize his shrinking substance named Pym Particles. The meeting doesn’t end well with Pym vowing that he will never let his suit or Pym Particle get in their hands. Pay attention folks as this will come up later in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We zap to the present and  we are introduced to Pym’s former protege, now head of Pym Industries Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) . He is on the verge of replicating Pym’s formula which is not a good thing at all. Pym’s daughter Hope (Evangeline Lilly) is secretly keeping an eye on Cross for her dad. Eventually Cross cracks the code and figures out how to make his own shrinking formula much to the dismay of Pym.
Stoll decides to sell his formula and the Yellowjacket suit to the notorious bad guys in the Marvel universe Hydra.

That’s where Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) comes into the picture. Lang is a reformed burglar, who doesn’t like to be called a robber because he hates violence. He is determined to walk the straight path and stray away from his criminal ways. Lang wants to be able to see his daughter again, but his mean ex-wife who is ironically married to a hard-nosed cop  Paxton (Bobby Cannavale) won’t allow him until he has better living arrangements.  Scott gets a job at Baskin Robbins apparently the go to place for felons to work but he is ultimately fired cause of criminal past. As they all joke in the movie Baskin Robbin’s finds out everything. With no options left Lang turns back to his old ways, he takes a job proposed to him by his hilarious criminal buddies Luis (Michael Pena),Dave (T.I.) and Kurt (David Dastmalchian)  to break into the house of old millionaire scientist Pym and crack his safe.

Lang has no idea Pym set the whole thing up, he’s actually being tested by Pym so he can be a part of an even greater heist with some large implications in the balance.

Pym is now too old to don the Ant-Man suit, he offers Lang the opportunity of a lifetime and in the process see his daughter again.
Hope hates the idea and insists that she should be the one to pull off the daring heist by wearing the suit by her dad wants no parts of that idea and for good reason too. Reluctant at first, Lang realizes he has nothing to lose and decides to take the job and the training sequence begins.

Ant-Man isn’t your typical superhero film and that’s a good thing, it’s more of a heist movie with a superhero twist.  Reed manages to keep the feel of a Marvel film in the M.C.U (Marvel Cinematic Universe) but also separates his film from the rest. Ant-Man’s transitions from full-size to shrinking work flawlessly and if you see the film in IMAX it almost feels as if you’re shrinking with Lang. His insect compatriots, as creepy as they are when he is small, will ultimately grow on you and you will  come to love them in the film as the movie goes on. The action in the film though not in abundance is enough, again we point out this is a heist movie. The final climatic battle though is definitely one for the ages with some hilarious twists as both Ant-Man and Yellowjacket battle out on toy train set in Lang’s daughter’s room.

Ant-Man also does manage to squeeze in a lot of Marvel easter eggs and there is a great cameo from a particular Avenger so keep your eyes open for them. Ant-Man is definitely in a class by itself and stands out more than Avengers: Age of Ultron. We highly recommend you check out this film its the perfect blend of comedy, action and just all things Marvel. If you can dish out the extra bucks to see it in IMAX, it’s totally worth it.
Pssssssss stick around around after the credits for an awesome goodie!
