Michael Bay has been teasing us with bits and pieces and very vague trailers for Transformers: The Last Knight. Today we get our fist real clear look at what to expect in what Michael Bay claims will be his last Transformers film and it’s very intriguing.
In the films latest trailer we get a pretty good idea as to why our favorite Autobot leader, Optimus Prime has officially lost his mind and why he is fighting his favorite lieutenant Bumblebee. It seems Optimus is ressurected by his “creators” and is on a mission to resurrect his home world of Cybertron. In order to accomplish his goal, Earth and it’s inhabitants must go in the process. We also learn in the new trailer that Transformers have been on the planet for a very long time, in fact we are talking back to the days of when King Arthur and his legendary Knights of the Roundtable were running things. It even seems they fought alongside the fabled and King and his Knights of the Roundtable.
Of course we see the human protagonist in the film in action, a quick glimpse of Megatron, the entire planet being destroyed by another huge planet (possibly Cybertron or Unicron) and of course more of Optimus vs Bumblebee. Peep the exciting new trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight above.
The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).
There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive theirs, or ours.
Directed by: Michael Bay
