Pepsi wrapped up a week-long activation around Super Bowl LI by sponsoring the Pepsi Zero Sugar Super Bowl Halftime Show, featuring international superstar Lady Gaga. Gaga thrilled the crowd at NRG Stadium in Houston, TX with some of her top hits including ‘Bad Romance,’ ‘Poker Face,’ ‘Born This Way’ and new hit ‘Million Reasons,’ delivering a memorable performance to millions watching around the world.
In other Fly News, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott won the 2016 Pepsi Rookie of the Year award, winning the fan vote that took place on NFL.com over fellow finalists Ezekiel Elliott, Joey Bosa, Deion Jones and Carson Wentz.
Last night, Lady Gaga took on the gigantic task of performing during halftime of what turned out to be probably one of the greatest Super Bowls (if you’re a Patriot fan) ever witnessed! Now it’s up for debate whether or not she delivered (I think she did) but it would seem a lot of folks are insanely hard to impress lately.
Now this wasn’t your typical halftime show, it started with Gaga literally on the top of NRG stadium singing “God Bless America” before transitioning into “This Land is Your Land” flanked by a sea of drones powered by Intel. Not to mention Gaga had to get clearance from the Federal Aviation Administration to even have those drones up in the air. Before she took a gigantic leap of faith into the stadium literally, Gaga ended her patriotic opening by quoting the “Pledge of Allegiance” and making sure she put emphasis on the “for all” part.
Once Gaga touched down onto the stage she jumped into a medley of her greatest hits that her Little Monsters love such as “Just Dance”, “Poker Face”, “Telephone” and “Bad Romance”.
Gaga promised she wouldn’t used the halftime show to make a HUGE political statement but she definitely made sure she preached inclusiveness! Gaga ended the show with her very pro LGBTQ 2011 hit “Born This Way” putting emphasis on the lyrics at the end of the song: “No matter gay, straight, or bi, Lesbian, transgendered life/I’m on the right track baby/I was born to survive.”

Our current lame Vice President was in the building and we are sure he was sitting there watching like:
Gaga ended the performance with an emphatic mic drop and then jumping off the stage while catching a football in typical Gaga fashion.
Well anyway it was a visual spectacle as the crowd on the field all held lights in their hands that were also a part of the show. Now of course there was commentary for the show and it was quite hilarious:
We are so happy Twitter is FREE! The social commentary is always on point during and following these events. We here at Stuff Fly People Like are equal opportunist when it comes to these jokes and Gaga is going to get them. Just last week Lady Gaga returned with “Perfect Illusion.” A bona-fide pop and in your face record about love gone wrong, Mother Monster takes us to the desert for a rager of epic proportions in the accompanying visual.
In the clip Gaga dons a pair of denim short shorts while channeling the energy of the track as she jumps around on stage and joins the crowd as they rage long into the night.
The Golden Globe-winning actress is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming album Joanne in October which will include single “Perfect Illusion.”
Watch Lady Gaga’s video for “Perfect Illusion” below.
Lady Gaga follows up the newly released “Perfect Illusion,” her first record since the 2013 album Art Pop; by revealing the title of her upcoming LP, Joanne.
The title of the album is Gaga’s, real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta; way of honoring her aunt and father’s sister Joanne. In 1974, at the age of 19 she passed away following a battle with lupus.
Mother Monster called into Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show earlier today and discussed the status of the album, dropping on October 21.
“Actually it’s going to be done in the next 48 hours. We’re just mixing, and mastering. I kind of sometimes get some last-minute hook or harmony, little production ideas. Mark too, so we’ve just you know, been spending the last 48 hours meditating with it.”
Mark Ronson, who was also on the call; Father John Misty, and Hillary Lindsey are just some of the artists featured on collaborations appearing on the album. Gaga’s latest effort also marks a new phase in the Golden Globe winning actress’ career.
“This was a new step for me as an artist. I think mostly because I felt so embraced by contemporary boys in the business who are real, kind of music nerds.”
Joanne will include 11 songs with three additional bonus cuts on the deluxe version. A video for the album’s lead single “Perfect Illusion” is on its way and physical copies of the LP will also feature artifacts of Joanne.
While on the phone with Lowe, the pop powerhouse also revealed more details regarding the upcoming release.
“It’s so personal. Every single song…is extremely autobiographical.”
We are so looking forward to the visual for “Perfect Illusion.” In the meantime, check out Lady Gaga’s full chat with Zane Lowe below.
Mother Monster is back with a brand new single titled “Perfect Illusion”, Lady Gaga‘s first in nearly three years.
In true Gaga fashion, she delivers a pop-rock and bona-fide dance track about a relationship where things aren’t as they seem. The “Judas” singer produced the record alongside Mark Ronson, Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, and BloodPop.
“It wasn’t love, it wasn’t love / It was a perfect illusion (Perfect illusion) / Mistaken for love, it wasn’t love / It was a perfect illusion (Perfect illusion) / You were a perfect illusion” she belts.
While at the iHeartRadio Music Summit The Born This Way artist spoke on the tracks inspiration,
“The song is about modern ecstasy. We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it… I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I hear it.”
Gaga is currently working on the follow-up to 2013’s ARTPOP, and starring alongside Bradley Cooper in the Warner Bros.’ remake of A Star Is Born.
Like us, I know you’re itching to see the accompanying visuals; but until then take a listen to “Perfect Illusion” below.
Now if you’re a fan of the Panthers you were absolutely disgusted and immediately shifted your attention to the NBA and who can blame you. After having a dabtastic season Cam Newton and his Carolina Panthers were easily dismissed by the Sheriff, Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos and the no.1 defense led by Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware.
Panthers fans this video of the Panthers cornerback Josh Norman pretty much sums up how you felt once the game clock hit 0.
To make matters worse for Panther fans, not one Panther had a reason to dab on anybody during the game. The Panthers offense was completely shut down! Now one person who totally had to turn off his phone and is probably not watching any television after last night is Cam Newton.
Boy did he get dragged last night, him and MJ’s crying mug got really acquainted with each other last night.
His press conference following the game didn’t help matters either as he is being slammed for walking out during his press conference.
We definitely feel for Cam but that comes with the territory, you gotta be able to take the bad just as much the good. Now that will be his lasting memory after a pretty amazing season.
WELP, with all that said the creative comedic geniuses on the internet still found a way to turn Super Bowl 50 into a laugh fest. We love some hilarious memes here at the SFPL and boy did they started flowing when the halftime show ended and when the Panther’s lost the game. Hit the gallery below to see the best ones.
