After years of courtship, Kevin Hart and Eniko Parrish finally made it down the aisle earlier this summer. Fresh from their honeymoon, the newlyweds sat down exclusively with BET.com to intimately talk about their unforgettable wedding, how life has changed and more than a few secrets about their bedroom behavior.
A few quotes from the interview:
When did you know your spouse was the one?
Eniko: “There is a vibe that you just get and I knew he was my soulmate.”
Kevin: “There is a real friendship. That’s my friend, my dog, we can hang. Everything isn’t the most spectacular turn up, it doesn’t have to be.”
What is the most surprising thing about your spouse?
Eniko: “Most intimate or surprising?”
Kevin: “You should talk about the hammer?” *Grins*
Eniko: “He is a cuddler…*laughs* he likes to cuddle 24/7…and he gets sensitive when I don’t want to cuddle.”
Kevin: “Cut the camera’s off!”
Kevin: “The most surprising thing is why she became my wife, she is very funny.”
The Wedding:
Kevin: “Our wedding day was perfect. We didn’t do a by the book wedding… we surprised guests with a live carnival, we had games, white castle.. a human claw!”
Eniko: “The best part for me was Alicia Keys performing, my favorite artist, I had no idea”

What Now? is an appropriate title for Kevin Hart’s latest film covering his sold out comedy special of the same name. The film focuses on his show in his hometown of Philadelphia where he literally packed out Lincoln Financial Field.
When it comes to comedy, Kevin Hart is pretty much a rock star and it’s pretty much clear as he gets a stadium of 53,000 people to laugh at his energetic brand of comedy. What Now? follows up Hart’s last stand-up special Let Me Explain and of course Hart being the visionary he is opted to something extraordinarily different with this stand up special/film.
We spoke to Kevin exclusively and asked him about returning to stand-up after being in so many blockbuster films and how did it feel?
For me it was a must. I never go away from standup comedy. Standup comedy is always first. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for standup comedy. It’s just about me doing it right. I think I’ve set quite a bar for myself when it comes to standup comedy, when it comes to be doing my standup comedy specials. From Grown Little Man, to Seriously Funny, to Laugh at My Pain, to Let Me Explain, and to now What Now? The goal is to get better. The goal is to grow and to always reach levels. The time comes in with me just not being content with the material at certain points. It took me about a good year and a half to two years to get the material as solid as it was for me to film What Now. Once I felt that it was seamless, that every joke hit hard then I said it’s time to not only tour but film the special.
Team SFPL got the opportunity to attend a special fan screening of the film at AMC Lincoln Square theater in NYC.To show his appreciation to the fans Kevin Hart surprised the crowded the theater by showing up and sharing a few words with the crowd about the film and thanking them.
Now lets get into the film! Before we get to the actual stand up special we are treated to a short film featuring some big Hollywood names.
Tim Story directs the James Bond inspired mini film where Kevin Hart plays himself as a spy with Halle Berry who also played a Bond Girl as his leading lady. The setting of course is the obligatory high stakes poker game we have grown accustomed to in all spy movies.Kevin goes all in battling the evil Russian villain (David Meunier), and Don Cheadle who plays himself and grows impatient with Kevin’s hilarious antics as he mocks him at the table. Ed Helms of The Hangover fame serves as the wacky bartender in the scene.
Things pick up in the mini film action wise and we get to see Kevin effortlessly pull off some fight choreography. It’s a relief from always seeing Kevin as the awkward funny guy in fight scenes always getting beat up. It all leads up to Kevin making it to the stadium to put on the biggest stand up special ever where Leslie Small takes over on the directorial side.
Backed by a huge big-board that successfully helped Kevin tell his over the top stories about his fiancé at the time now wife, children, his father and hilarious real-life experiences. Small manages to catch the multi-cultural crowd letting the laughs go as Kevin delivers his unique brand of comedy. Small successfully captures the 5’4″ but now larger than life comedian dishing out jokes to more than 50,000 for a unique comedy experience.
That still leaves the question of What Now? What can Kevin honestly do to top this? What continues to motivate him? Well a global tour for one as to what continues to drive the comedian to push the envelope he also added:
I think now just seeing me getting closer to the goal of becoming a mogul. I think that’s where a lot of this motivation comes from. I want to become the mogul that I set out to be. I want to be self-owned. I want Hart Beat Productions to stand on its own. I want Hart Beat Digital to do more. I want my network Laugh Out Loud Network to be successful. I still want to go on and do comedy at the highest level. I still want to go on and star in blockbuster movies. I mean it’s just constantly going and doing as much as I possibly can, but the motivation comes in knowing that I can reach that level.
Well said Kevin!
Final Verdict
If you were like me and didn’t get a chance to attend Hart’s stand up special live then this film will definitely show you what you missed. It will have you in the theater laughing out loud and repeating with the crowd in the movie as Kevin says “oh really” as he mimics the sarcasticness of black woman who are reluctant to believe outrageous stories that Kevin jokingly tells. Looking for a good laugh on date night or movie night with the homies then by all means checkout this film.

Kevin Hart rakes in millions touring the world doing stand-up and dominates the box office with his films. The secret to his success is … well, it’s no secret. “I love my people. I have never not stood by my people and by my race. I love representing my race all over the world at the highest level where people have to look and go, ‘Hey man, that strong Black man right there is a smart individual. He’s got it together; he’s trying to do some positive things.”
Speaking of positivity, the 2016 Men’s Issue is specifically devoted to uplifting Black men.
“This is one of my favorite editions of the year because we shine a much-needed spotlight on the upcoming November election as well as the issues affecting a group of human beings I truly love: Black men,” explains EBONY Editor-in-Chief and Senior Vice President, Head of Digital Editorial Kyra Kyles. “We are so tired of reading negative stories about our brothers, fathers, husbands, sons, cousins and friends, so this issue highlights awe-inspiring gentlemen making a positive change in their communities and offers self-care tips specific to the fellas.”

He might be the hardest working guy in Hollywood. Host-comedian-network exec Nick Cannon sits down with Larry King on the multi-Emmy nominated series Larry King Now, where he gets candid about his and Kevin Hart’s success, fatherhood and his split from Mariah Carey. Plus, the multi-hyphenate explains why he isn’t impressed with either presidential candidate, and offers Larry his perspective on life after death.
The comedian confesses that he had no idea his close friend Kevin Hart would become one of the world’s biggest comedians. He says, “I didn’t know myself or him would reach the levels that we’ve reached,” and fondly recalls a time when they were young comics “just telling jokes for dinner.”
Nick Cannon opens up about his split from Mariah Carey, and how he and his ex-wife manage co-parenting their twins, Moroccan and Monroe. He admits, “We all love Mariah, and she’s outstanding, and you know how some of these things, they don’t work out in the way you thought they were gonna work out.” But, Nick Cannon reveals that they are all on good terms, saying “it was probably best for our family to remain a family, first and foremost.”
Nick Cannon, who is tired of seeing slave films, tells Larry he plans to make a $200 million “African epic” that celebrates black history. He says, “I feel like that’s something that’s constantly perpetuated and pushed forward and it’s like ok, we get it. You know, to me personally, I like to receive my history from books, I don’t really want to see actors acting it out and studios profiting off, you know, the bloodshed of slavery.”
Plus, Nick Cannon sounds off on both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, revealing “I don’t trust them.” He also offers a conspiracy theory about Clinton and admits that this presidential race “says so much about who we are as a country.”
The Black community is still reeling from the tragic murders of Philando Castille and Alton Sterling at the hands of police. Many have taken to the streets and social media to protest, voice their opinions, and demand a change.
Mic along with a plethora of actors and musicians that include Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Bono, Chance The Rapper, Chris Rock, Common, Pink, Janelle Monáe, Kevin Hart, Rihanna, Taraji P. Henson, Queen Latifah, Rosario Dawson, Swizz Beatz, Talib Kweli, Lenny Kravitz, Zoe Kravitz, A$AP Rocky, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Jennifer Hudson, Adam Levine, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Maxwell have teamed up for PSA titled “23 Ways.” The PSA aims to shed light on the non-stop brutality and countless murders of POC at the hands of the police; simply for doing things most wouldn’t think twice about like walking home with a friend, trying to get help, and making eye contact.
Each harrowing account of the the men, women, and children of color who have been murdered by police, serves as a painful reminder of the deep rooted and systematic racism still prevalent in society today. Watch the PSA in it’s entirety below.
ailure is not an option when it comes to these two juggernauts in the entertainment industry. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Kevin Hart are two of Hollywood’s busiest actors and it’s clearly translating in their bank accounts.
Hart and Johnson both landed on Forbes annual Celebrity 100 list once again with each topping their last year ranking by miles on the list.
Kevin Hart landed at #6 pulling in a whopping $87.5 million, a huge leap from #95 in 2015 making him the highest paid comedian on the list. Hart’s comedy tour filled over 100 stadiums and arenas and grossed an average of over $1M at each show.
Forbes didn’t even mention Hart’s high earning movies and his groundbreaking deal with Nike for the launch of his own signature sneaker.
We don’t expect Kevin to take his foot off the gas no time soon either, congrats Kevin on the accomplishment.
Everybody wants to be famous, but nobody wants to do the work. I live by that. You grind hard so you can play hard. At the end of the day, you put all the work in, and eventually it’ll pay off. It could be in a year, it could be in 30 years. Eventually, your hard work will pay off.
Kevin Hart
Dwayne ‘The Rock” Johnson also made a lot of noise again this year. The Rock has basically been on television and movie screens all year-long and it helped him bring in a cool $64.5 million landing placing him #19 on the list. With his most recent film Central Intelligence also starring Kevin Hart pulling in over a $100 million at the box office it’s no mistake he made the leap from #81 on list last year.
With his new ranking, he is now the highest earning actor on the planet!
The Rock is not taking his boot off the throat of Hollywood either! With the R Rated comedy Baywatch on the way, Fast and Furious 8, Jumanji reboot rumored to also feature Hart and San Andreas sequel in the works, we will be smelling what The Rock is cooking for a long time.
I was evicted at 14-years-old and completely broke by 23. Every day I wake up as if that eviction notice is right around the corner waiting for me.
he Secret Life of Pets will be scampering onto the big screen tomorrow, if you need to know if it’s worthy of your coins we already got you covered with our FLY Review. Team SFPL got the chance to attend the press junket for upcoming Illumination Entertainment animated adventure. NYC members of the press were taken to Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey to meet with the cast and crew of film and talk about film. The press conference featured Lake Bell (Chloe), Bobby Moyniham (Mel), Chris Renaud (Director/Norman), writers Cinco Paul, Ken Daurio and Brian Lynch, Eric Stonestreet (Duke) and Kevin Hart (Snowball) and Louis C.K. (Max). The conferences were broken up into five separate segments.
Lake Bell and Bobby Moyniham
Chris Renaud
Eric Stonestreet
L to R: Brian Lynch, Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio
Each actor and actress touched on the difficult but fun process of bringing the lovable characters to life.Other items touched on of course were merchandise, pets, being a part of such a fun project and favorite characters in the film. We also got a chance to talk to the director of the film Chris Renaud who spoke on his inspiration for the film and the inspiration behind each character. We also got a chance to chop it up with writers of the film Cinco Paul, Ken Daurio and Brian Lynch. The trio clearly enjoyed writing the project and piecing the exciting story together.
Louis C.K. and Kevin Hart
Last but certainly not least were the stars of the film Louis C.K. who plays Max and Kevin Hart who voices the cute but maniacal bunny rabbit Snowball. The two spoke on of course their characters in the film, being fathers in the entertainment industry, working on animated features.
Of course Kevin brought his brand of humor when it came to answering questions so it was hard not to laugh during the press conference.
Kevin on becoming Snowball:
I was excited, this is my first animation film. Nothing gets you more excited than seeing your character, see that your character has two sides. They showed me a pictured of the bunny when he was very nice and adorable, then he flipped the page and he was grabbing his ears and his eyes and stuff were angry. They said Kevin we want you basically bring your personality to this bunny. You know give us the cute cuddly side and at the same time make it believable that this guy can start a revolution and have people follow him so I jumped at the opportunity.
Things also got serious when the issue of race was brought up. SFPL’s own Bernard Smalls asked Kevin about an article featured in Vulturethat brought up the “issue” of Hollywood hiding black actors behind make-up, prosthetics and animation on the big screen.
Kevin on the issue:
I think people will look for any excuse to play the race card in Hollywood. This day and age look, it is what it is you know, you want it be more diversified you want to see more diversity. But a lot of people draw attention to it by talking about it.Where as if you just work and progress you eventually put yourself in position to where you can help the problem buy bringing more people into the business. Where you draw negative attention you’re only going to get a negative response, I don’t believe into adding to it. I bust my ass and do what i’m supposed to and I’ve been promoting movies internationally now for the last four years. They said movies don’t transfer with black actors internationally, I don’t feed into that, I do what I do. If other people did the same you would look up you would see more multicultural films being received by so many more people. I would just say instead of looking for a reason to say LOOK AT THAT, look at the people who are in those positions and working and applaud them. Applaud those actors that are in those animated movies regardless of color of skin, they’re working and creating opportunities for others.
Amen Kevin!
The Secret Life of Pets is in theaters Friday, July 8th!
