New Music & Videos: Daley, Jill Scott, Iggy Azalea, Desiigner, Zayn & PartyNextDoor

[ione_embed src=https://www.youtube.com/embed/wpjFSZG7Rfw service=youtube width=854 height=480 type=iframe]

R&B hit-maker Daley is set to release his upcoming studio album The Spectrum via BMG. For his second full-length album, Daley draws on professional and personal experiences from the last two years, including the loss of close friend and manager Richard Antwi. With this release, Daley has unlocked the next chapter of his musical journey with renewed inspiration… and eagerly-awaited new music.

For the first single “Until The Pain Is Gone,” Daley teamed up with none other than the R&B queen Jill Scott to create a love song that reflects the bittersweet push-pull of being vulnerable in love.

“Having Jill involved is an honor,” Daley explains. “She’s royalty in my eyes- someone I’ve looked up to musically from a very malleable stage in my songwriting career. When I was just starting to understand how to put my feelings into song, Jill was one of a handful of influential artists who’s music helped me figure out how to channel that.”

Working with one of his greatest inspirations came about after Daley opened one of Jill Scott’s shows in London.

“She was really kind and encouraging and we stayed in touch,” he says. “In the studio writing this song I just had a feeling… kept hearing Jill’s voice as the song developed, like it was asking for her energy. I’ve learned to trust those gut feelings when they occur, so after a little hesitation I sent it to her for her thoughts… and was thrilled to receive a reply that she loved it! She took it and interpreted it in her own amazingly soulful way, and it was done.”

Take a listen above.

KEEP UP WITH DALEY!

Jill Scott Puts Her Poetic Skills To Good Use [Unlike Some] As She Partners with Hallmark’s Mahogany

As some are releasing random poetic explanations of supporting “anything Trump”, hence Inauguration Performances, Jill Scott takes her skills into a partnership lane with Hallmark, putting her gift to great use.

Hallmark’s Mahogany brand today announced the Jill Scott Collection, a new offering of greeting cards featuring design, editorial, and sound inspired by and created with Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Jill Scott.

“The Mahogany brand is genuine, progressive and optimistic – values that are important to me and reflected in my music and poetry, and now, through my card collection,” said Jill Scott. “I was inspired by highlights within my own life – love, marriage, motherhood – in the writing behind these cards, and I am excited to be involved in a project that will give others another way to express their love to the people that matter most to them.”

Scott collaborated with the creative team at Hallmark to develop design themes that reflected her personality, often including layers of vivid colors, natural textures and soothing metallics. Scott also helped set the editorial ‘voice’ and wrote many of the cards— opting for affirming optimistic and genuine messages.

“Ms. Scott is more than a singer, songwriter and actress – among other things, she is a busy mom and wife, like many Hallmark shoppers who cherish and celebrate the important relationships in their lives, and this card collection is a reflection of that,” said Philip Polk, Vice President – Multicultural Strategy, Hallmark Cards. “Through this partnership, we were able to combine Mahogany cards’ messages rooted in inspiration, positivity and cultural connection with Jill Scott’s unique, bold and soulful editorial and design vision to create a one-of-a-kind collection.”

The Jill Scott Collection includes 20 cards for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduation, friendship, love, and support. Ranging from $3.99 – $5.59, the cards feature unique combinations of patterns, colors, lettering and illustrations created specifically for this collaboration.

The Valentine’s Day and Everyday collections are available at select Hallmark Gold Crown stores and mass retailers starting this month. In addition, seasonal collections for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day will be available throughout the year. Visit www.greetings.hallmark.com/mahogany/store-locator/ to find the nearest store. In 2018, the Jill Scott collection will expand to gifts including notebooks, mugs, trinket trays and pouches, which will be available at select Hallmark Gold Crown stores.
