James Corden‘sย Carpool Karaokeย segment has become a mainstay in pop culture. The Late Late Show host took his segment on the road this week with a visit to the White House. So who joined Corden for some driving and tunes? First Lady Michelle Obama of course!
After some questioning and strict instructions from security, Corden is allowed through theย gates where,ย since she hasย some time to spare; FLOTUS opts to give him a tour of the grounds while they drive around. Seeing as Obama never has the time to jam while in the car, she requests Corden put on some tunes so they can rock out for a bit. The First Lady is a huge fanย of Stevie Wonder and the duo break out into his classic “Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours.”

The pair then go on to discuss whether or not FLOTUS will miss having people at her beck and call 24/7. The First Lady will miss the people she’s come to know and seen everyday over the past 7 1/2 years; but not so much the perk of being able to call down and order a grilled cheese and a milkshake at 3 a.m.. After Michelle reveals her and POTUS’s code names, she helps Corden come up with one of his own before they break out into Queen Bey’s “Single Ladies” and of course the duo couldn’t resist bringing out the dance moves.

After an epic sing off of “Single Ladies” the two go on to discuss Obama’s education initiative Let Girls Learn. She even reveals that she joined Snapchat as a way to keep the public here informed of the struggles girls around the world face as it pertains to getting an education. This is followed by sing-a-long of “This Is For My Girls,” the anthem for Michelle’s initiative which features Kelly Clarkson, Kelly Rowland, Zendaya, Chloe x Halle, Lea Michelle, Janelle Monรกe, Jadagrace, and Missy Elliott; who pops out the back seat to deliver her high energy verse.

The trio close out their car ride by breaking out into one of Missy’s catalog of hits, “Get Ur Freak On,” which Michelle knows almost word for word. At the end Missy can’t stand to leave Obama and Corden, but she has a 1:55 tour she can’t miss.
You can watch the complete car ride which has already amassed over 2.5 million views in less than 24 hours below. More information on Obama’s education initiativeย Let Girls Learn is available here.
