James Corden Takes Carpool Karaoke On The Road, Heads To The White House

James Corden‘s Carpool Karaoke segment has become a mainstay in pop culture. The Late Late Show host took his segment on the road this week with a visit to the White House. So who joined Corden for some driving and tunes? First Lady Michelle Obama of course!

After some questioning and strict instructions from security, Corden is allowed through the gates where, since she has some time to spare; FLOTUS opts to give him a tour of the grounds while they drive around. Seeing as Obama never has the time to jam while in the car, she requests Corden put on some tunes so they can rock out for a bit. The First Lady is a huge fan of Stevie Wonder and the duo break out into his classic “Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours.”

The pair then go on to discuss whether or not FLOTUS will miss having people at her beck and call 24/7. The First Lady will miss the people she’s come to know and seen everyday over the past 7 1/2 years; but not so much the perk of being able to call down and order a grilled cheese and a milkshake at 3 a.m.. After Michelle reveals her and POTUS’s code names, she helps Corden come up with one of his own before they break out into Queen Bey’s “Single Ladies” and of course the duo couldn’t resist bringing out the dance moves.

After an epic sing off of “Single Ladies” the two go on to discuss Obama’s education initiative Let Girls Learn. She even reveals that she joined Snapchat as a way to keep the public here informed of the struggles girls around the world face as it pertains to getting an education. This is followed by sing-a-long of “This Is For My Girls,” the anthem for Michelle’s initiative which features Kelly Clarkson, Kelly Rowland, Zendaya, Chloe x Halle, Lea Michelle, Janelle Monáe, Jadagrace, and Missy Elliott; who pops out the back seat to deliver her high energy verse.

The trio close out their car ride by breaking out into one of Missy’s catalog of hits, “Get Ur Freak On,” which Michelle knows almost word for word. At the end Missy can’t stand to leave Obama and Corden, but she has a 1:55 tour she can’t miss.

Watch: Anne Hatha-Slay Owns James Corden In Rap Battle

Image via YouTube

Anne Hathaway was a guest on The Late Late Show with James Corden and while there the Alice Through The Looking Glass star joined Corden for his Drop the Mic segment, where the two battled it out holding nothing back.

Corden kicked things off by using Hathaway’s resume against her and attacking her rap skills.

“…Im’ma try my best and air it out like tank tops and like her movie Get Smart her rhymes are gonna flop. Did I touch on something a bit ill-willed? Am I the Drake of this battle and Anne is Meek Mill? Now it’s her turn to try and act a little scary cause the only Catwoman I acknowledge is Halle Berry.”

Whoa there. Corden set the tone and Hathaway followed suit insulting Corden’s celebrity dropping bar after bar. The new mother even kicked off her shoes letting us know she was getting ready to go in.

“I can’t make fun of you, James, ’cause no one’s heard of you. Now that I finally have a chance to speak I’ll say your rhymes are like your ratings, they’re incredibly weak. They say don’t quit your day job, but you really should. I looked you up on IMDB it said nothing good. Google ‘James Corden is’ it says ‘hopefully dead.’ I’m like your wife, I watch Seth Meyers instead.”

Even Corden couldn’t deny that the Oscar-winning actress just spit some serious bars. It was now his turn to rebuttal, and what better way than by insulting her acting chops and dredging up one of her career low points.

“This isn’t just for me it’s for the whole U.K.. Mad at your awful British accent in the movie One Day. Trust me I won’t lose this to an imposter. It’s more likely they’ll ask you again to host the Oscars.”

Corden went for the jugular, but Hathaway didn’t let that faze her. Undeterred she spat back determined to ether the talk show host.

“You look like a KFC bucket with a lot of extra breasts. You’re the worst British export since Smallpox and you’re more full of sh*t than a kitty litter-box. I saw the One Direction game you did with the tattoo. The one direction that makes sense is away from you.”

Ouch! Even Corden had to admit things were getting pretty heated saying, “That was actually a bit mean.” Corden composed himself and retaliated by coming at Hathaway guns blazing.

“Your verse went on and on like your Oscar acceptance speech. It’s hard to be mean when I thought of you so highly. I got to take you out and erase The Princess Diaries. Miss goodie two shoes snatch the tiara off your head. De Niro was the intern, tonight it’s you instead. Congrats on your new movie [Alice] Through The Looking Glass. I’m sorry about this battle, you can kiss my f*cking a**.”

What a knockout verse from Corden. Hathaway however, still had a bit of fight left in her and ended the battle with a one-two punch ultimately being declared the winner.

“A** kisses and disses weak lines full of misses. I’ll be real with you now so you just can’t dismiss this. You can try to knock me down round after round, but I promise you Anne Hathaway she won’t stay on the ground. I was hated and shaded, but now I’ve been liberated. There’s nothing you can say to leave me incapacitated. I’ve heard everything yo man none of it broke me. I love you, I love your show the Carpool Karaoke. I battle with love and joy so I am always unafraid, but son now you know what it’s like to get Hatha-slayed.”

Mic drop.

You can watch Corden and Hathaway’s full epic rap battle below. Who knew Anne Hathaway could spit bars! Cleary she is a woman of many talents and if she wanted to try her hand at rhyming she already has a dope emcee name in Hatha-Slay.

Watch: James Corden Connects With Gwen Stefani + Surprise Guests For Carpool Karaoke

James Corden‘s Carpool Karaoke segment has become a mainstay in pop culture. For this Wednesday’s segment Corden penned Gwen Stefani to ride along for his commute to work.

The duo of course sang songs from Stefani’s catalog before hitting a bump in the road courtesy of the HOV lane restrictions. Cordon was quick on his feet and was able to find someone to join them, enter George Clooney. They were still one passenger short so Clooney rang up a pal who jumped at the opportunity after hearing Stefani was there and who was this pal but none other then Julia Roberts.

The gang was now ready to hit the road again and proceeded to breakout into Stefani’s hit “Holla Back Girl” to which Clooney and Roberts knew the words. After a brief discussion about what holla back girl means which Clooney nailed, Stefani reveals someone inspired the track but remained mum on the details and ends with Clooney hitting everyone with “this sh*t is bananas.”

The ride continues as Corden ask the two thespians what their favorite line from their numerous roles is. Roberts goes with a line from the Oceans series where she says to Clooney’s character, “You’re just a liar and a thief” and he responds “I only lied about being a thief.”

Their hilarious car ride continues while the foursome hit us with a rendition of the Queen’s classic “We Are The Champions,” which they totally nail.

Watch: Sia Helps James Corden Find His Way On Latest Edition Of Carpool Karaoke

Sia joins James Corden for Carpool Karaoke on "The Late Late Show with James Corden," airing Monday, February 15th, 2016 on The CBS Television Network. Screen grab. ©2016 CBS Broadcasting, Inc. All Rights Reserved

James Corden Carpool Karaoke segment never disappoints. This week Corden was joined by singer and songwriter Sia.

The clip starts off with Corden trying to find his way as he heads to the studio. Completely unaware of where he is, he stumbles upon Sia who as it turns out is great with directions. Sia however, needs some help herself as she’s wearing her signature wig and can’t see Corden or the car.

Once settled in and on their way, the pair break out in song to Sia’s “Chandelier.” Of course Corden couldn’t resist asking the singer about her trademark look; which she explains she sports to maintain some shred of privacy.

“I was an alcoholic and a drug addict. I sobered up, and I decided I didn’t want to be an artist anymore, because I was starting to get a little bit famous and it was destabilizing in some way. So I thought, ‘What doesn’t exist in pop music at the moment?’ And it was mystery.”

The duo continues to flex their vocal muscles as they take on “Diamonds” and “Elastic Heart” before Corden blurts out “You believe in aliens.” Taken aback, Sia retorts “How did you know that?” to which Corden gives the most fitting response, “I know s— about you.”

Corden proceeds to don a matching wig and reveal that he really does know s— about the singer specifically about her double-jointed hands. Sia exclaims, “You found out the weirdest s— about me.” The car ride wouldn’t be complete without witnessing Sia balance and hold a dozen eggs on the back of her hands.

The pair close out their ride with a rendition of “Titanium” before arriving at their destination.

This edition of carpool karaoke follows Martin and Corden on the road to Super Bowl 50 as they sing a slew of Coldplay songs including “Adventure of a Lifetime,” “Yellow,” “Paradise,” and “When I Ruled the World.” Corden asks Martin to breakdown American Football, Martin shares what he’s currently listening to, they stop for lemonade, and even catch some z’s at a motel before continuing on their journey on a two person bicycle, upon discovering their car has been stolen. Check out the hilarious road trip below.

Adele Knows Every Word To Nicki Minaj’s “Monster” Verse And It’s Amazing

Adele is the latest star to join James Corden on his Carpool Karaoke segment. While visiting his native London over the holidays Corden met up with the songstress for a drive around the city. They of course covered Adele’s hits including her most recent hit “Hello” as well as oldies “Someone Like You,” and “Rolling In The Deep.” The duo also covered The Spice Girls “Wannabe” and Adele slayed Ms. Nicki Minaj’s verse from Kanye West’s “Monster.”

The social-sphere went crazy and Minaj herself chimed in on Adele’s cover of her monster verse. Ms. Minaj called Adele’s rendition “IcoNic” and complimented the English singer on her attitude and finger wagging.

Minaj also sent out a tweet giving Adele props.

Posh Spice also weighed in on Adele’s karaoke skills on Twitter calling it “genius.”

The lifetime viral record is currently held by Justin Bieber’s own carpool clip, but come on it’s only a matter of time until Adele nabs this title as well.
