Rising R&B artist Jacob Latimore has released “The Real,” the first track from his debut album CONNECTION, which is set for a December 9th release through Jacobs Ink/Empire.
The official single, which features Ishdarr and was produced by Ayo & Keyz and Mantra, is available right now, and you can also pre-order CONNECTION on iTunes.
Featuring production from the likes of Chris Henderson (Jamie Foxx), Mel & Mus (Chris Brown/Justin Bieber/Rihanna/Nicki Minaj), Big Fruit (Lil Wayne/Yo Gotti/K Camp/Plies), SK (Trey Songz) and Ayo The Producer (Chris Brown/Rick Ross/Bryson Tiller), to name but a few, the album sees the Atlanta-based Latimore delivering on the promise shown with previous hits “Remember Me” and “Climb,” which have amassed close to 7 million combined streams (and both of which are featured on the project).

As if his musical talents weren’t impressive enough, Latimore has also emerged as one of the most promising acting talents of his generation. This holiday season, he’ll be seen alongside Will Smith, Michael Pena, Edward Norton, Helen Mirren and Keira Knightley in the Warner Bros. film Collateral Beauty, directed by Oscar-winner David Frankel. Jacob recently completed production on a yet-to be named crime drama with Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow and her Zero Dark Thirty and The Hurt Locker screenwriter Mark Boal. The film chronicles a police raid in Detroit in 1967 which resulted in one of the largest citizen uprisings in the United States’ history. Also coming up is the film Krystal, with Latimore joining William H. Macy, Felicity Huffman, Kathy Bates and Rosario Dawson in a dramatic comedy marking the directorial debut of actor William.
A Milwaukee native, Latimore was featured in two of 2014’s biggest box office hits, co-starring as “Ramon” in Universal Pictures’ Ride Along starring Ice Cube, Kevin Hart and John Leguizamo, and in 20th Century Fox’s sci-fi thriller The Maze Runner. In 2013, he starred as Langston in Fox Searchlight’s Black Nativity, working with alongside Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett, Tyrese Gibson, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige and Nas. He made his feature film debut in a lead role in Magnet Releasing’s 2010 post-apocalyptic thriller Vanishing on 7th Street, starring Hayden Christensen and John Leguizamo.
