Today artist Andy Mineo debuts his highly anticipated sophomore album, Uncomfortable (Reach Records). The new full-length album, is currently #2 on iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap Charts and ranks #3 on iTunes overall charts. The first leg of the nationwide ‘Uncomfortable Tour’ will begin October 1 and Mineo will be joined by rapper Propaganda. Dates for Andy Mineo’s nationwide Uncomfortable Tour are listed below.
Uncomfortable, produced by !llmind (J.Cole, Drake, 50 Cent) is a 13-track album which includes the first single and title track, “Uncomfortable.” Hot New Hip Hop described the song as “consistently shape-shifting, moving from MBDTF-esque (My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy) melodies backed by strings, to a straight-up rap number.” The second single off the album, “Hear My Heart,” which was released in August, first premiered on Sirius XM’s Sway In The Morning and then online with the popular music and entertainment site VIBE. “Hear My Heart” is a tribute to Andy Mineo’s deaf sister. Mineo announced the heartfelt song with a sign-language video, which left curious fans wondering what the rapper was cooking up.
Mineo documents the process behind the making of Uncomfortable on his weekly YouTube web series, Saturday Morning Car-Tunez, directed by Francis De La Torre. The web series which gained a rabid following is now in its third and final season. Tomorrow, Mineo will reveal the final episode of Season 3, to the dismay of many devoted fans. Still, Mineo, who prides himself in having a close relationship with his followers, continues sharing inside tidbits to his life and album making process. Mineo created the Extended Experience via Instagram, where fans can explore an immersive website via Instagram’s tagging feature to see behind-the-scenes content for the thirteen tracks on the album.
“You Can’t Stop Me,” the hugely successful single off Mineo’s previous project entitled Never Land, which sold over 90K units and has been seen more than 1M times on YouTube, recently won “MLB’s top walk up song” for ESPN’s inaugural Whammy Awards, beating out Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” and Big Sean’s “Blessings.”

Broadcast Music, Inc.®, (BMI®), the global leader in music rights management, presented the BMI Icon Award to GRAMMY-winning songwriter, composer, producer, arranger and guitarist, Nile Rodgers, at the 2015 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards, held at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills on August 28th. The star-studded event celebrates the songwriters, producers and publishers of the most-performed R&B/hip-hop songs of the previous year.
Rodgers was honored for his unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers and his ability to connect people through song and defy musical expectations. As the 2015 BMI Icon Award recipient, Rodgers joins an elite list of previous honorees that includes The Jacksons, Snoop Dogg, George Clinton, James Brown, Isaac Hayes, Little Richard and Al Green, to name a few.
The evening featured a slew of performances: B.o.B opened with a medley of hits, followed by IloveMakonnen who kept the energy going with “Tuesday.” Backed by music director Rickey Minor, as well as band and Donald Lawrence’s vocals, the high-powered Icon tribute was kicked off by R&B chanteuses Kelly Price covering “Upside Down,” Deborah Cox’s delivery of “I’m Coming Out,” Kathy Sledge and the Company offering a rousing rendition of “We Are Family,” and Empire’s V. Bozeman’s vibrant version of “I Want Your Love.” The celebration continued with CeeLo Green’s dynamic performance of “Let’s Dance.” The night concluded with the top honoree taking the stage to perform fan favorites “Good Times” and “Rappers Delight,” with hip-hop legend Chuck D joining Rodgers.
Additional top honors presented at the awards ceremony: John Legend “All of Me” earned the Song of the Year prize; DJ Mustard was crowned the Songwriter of the Year for penning hits “2 On,” “Don’t Tell ‘Em,” “I Don’t F**ck With You,” “Main Chick,” “My Hitta,” “Na Na,” “No Mediocre,” “Paranoid,” “Show Me,” and “Who Do You Love?” DJ Mustard also won the coveted Producer of the Year award for the second year in a row, while Universal Music Publishing Group accepted the prestigious Publisher of the Year crystal for having 18 of the most-performed songs from the previous year. BMI also recognized top producers Kanye West, J Cole, Jim Jonsin, Michael “Finatik” Mulé and Isaac De Boni.
SoMo won the BMI Social Star Award. Selected by fans voting via Twitter and Instagram, the award salutes the BMI R&B/hip-hop songwriter who has best demonstrated the power of social media to showcase their songwriting talents.
BMI President and CEO Mike O’Neill and Vice President, Writer/Publisher Relations, Atlanta, Catherine Brewton shared the evening’s hosting duties with R&B artist and actor Ray J.
Guests celebrated and mingled while enjoying Red Bull cocktails during the evening’s festivities. BMI partnered with HD Radio, TW Steel, Provider Inc. and KIND Snacks to present the 2015 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards.

Claudia Cividino, CEO of Bally Americas, along with music artist J. Cole hosted a cocktail party this evening to celebrate the J. Cole for Bally collaboration. The event was followed by the premiere screening of Off the Grid, presented by Bally, featuring J. Cole. The event took place at Norwood Club in New York City on Wednesday, August 5th, 2015.
Other attendees included: Rachel Roy, Georgina Chapman, Keren Craig, and Joy Bryant.
Bally has joined forces with Cole, launching an exclusive pair of hiking boots and backpack, inspired by the notion of “urban explorer”. The boots and backpack will be offered in a range of colors and materials from calf leather to exotic python. Bally is known for their expertise in crafting hiking boots starting in 1950s, when they created the “Reindeer Himalaya boots”, worn by Sherpa Tenzing Norgay when he climbed Mount Everest. Now, the new version of these hiking boots are still a hallmark for exceptional design and comfort, but reincarnated to traverse various terrains from cityscapes to Jamaica’s Blue Mountains. In the short film, Off the Grid, J. Cole escapes to Jamaica to disconnect from technology and connect with his surroundings.
Congrats J. Cole!

It’s safe to say that Drake is definitely having the best week ever.
With all the beef mayhem between Drizzy and Meek Mill, social media has already taken the Canadian rapper’s side, and have been crushing Meek’s dreams with a plethora of memes and harsh critiques. Not to mention, Mill may be getting sued by WWE for his first and probably last sampled diss track towards the OVO leader.
With Caribana (#TOCarnival) and the OVO Fest going on right now in Toronto, Canada, Drake said: why not debut my new shoe collaboration with Jordan Brand; the OVO Air Jordan 10. Yes, he has a new sneaker on the way.
The deal was announced back in 2010 and is now making it’s official purchase appearance in stores on Sept. 12th for $255.
The 6th Annual, 3-day OVO Fest kicks off tonight with Kevin Hart and continues tomorrow with J. Cole, Big Sean, and YG. It ends on Monday, as Drake plans on bringing out more surprise guests.
We guess Meek’s timing was not good after all.
Some of y’all may have missed the FLY moments of the week, but no worries because we’ve got you covered! We are going to fill you in on all the juicy entertainment news and drama that you didn’t catch. Go ahead, get in there…
With a little puppy chow and love in tow, J. Cole delivers his new visual to the hit track “Wet Dreamz” from his current album 2014 Forest Hills Drive, directed by Ryan Staake.
In the visual, Cole displays the concept of a different species (dogs) meeting for the first time and falling in love yet still ending the story with a small twist.
