[Last Night In NYC] Hot 97 Christmas Extravaganza Hosted By Nicki Minaj

Last night December 25th at Webster Hall in NYC, Hot 97 had a little extravaganza and the YMCMB first lady Nicki Minaj was the host of the night. In the spirit of the holiday season Nicki and Hot 97 put aside their differences for the night, the rapper/ pop star and the station have been at odds since the whole Summer Jam fiasco this past summer. The barbz filed in Webster Hall to see the head Barb in charge, Nicki was a tad bit late for the party and folks definitely began to notice. Luckily Hot 97 Djay’s Spynfo, Funk Flex, Young Chow and Magic kept the crowd amped and ready for when pink princess finally arrived.

Nicki finally arrived but spent most of her time in the VIP area of Webster Hall occasionally revealing herself to her anxious fans. Booing could eventually be heard as fans some whom paid $25 and in some cases $50 at the door to see Nicki Minaj were not pleased that she wasn’t on the stage. Nicki got on the mic and let the crowd know that she wasn’t there to perform that night, Mr Cee cleared things up as he told Nicki the fans just want her to come to the stage.

Legendary DJ Funk Flex did what he does best on the wheels of steel playing all the hits and keeping the crowds energy level up.

MMG’s own Meek Mill was in attendance as well as Jim Jones and Irv Gotti.

Once on stage Nicki greeted fans in the front of the stage, she then started an impromptu twerk contest asking for  5 “ratchet” females to come to the stage. The twerk contest was a fail for the most part but Nicki still rewarded the young ladies by throwing a handful of $100 bills in the air.

Overall there was large sense of confusion and disappointment amongst the people in the building as they were leaving. To Nicki’s defense it clearly said she was hosting on the flyer for the party BUT she could have performed at least ONE song, Well check out the rest of the photos from the situation last night.

In part 2 of Power 105.1‘s Cherry Martinez’s exclusive interview with Charli Baltimore, the Philadelphia native dishes on what she thinks went wrong with Murder Inc. and its CEO, Irv Gotti, how she parted ways with the label, Ja Rule and the alleged beef with her former label-mate, Vita. Check out some of the highlights below:
“He had the ball, he just couldn’t get it in the hoop. I think a lot of it was personal issues, I don’t even think it was his business savvy. I think he just let certain things get in the way of what was important.”
“…I left Murder Inc., I wasn’t kicked off, I wasn’t dropped, I left. It was a little gangster actually. We don’t got to get into the ifs, ands, and buts of what I did and how I did what I did, but it was a little gangster. Me and Irv didn’t speak for 4 years.”
