But he’s dead serious when it comes to his empire, and he’s become the first comedian to unseat Jerry Seinfeld at the top of Forbes’ highest-paid celebrities list.
EBONY goes one-on-one with the mogul to learn more about the challenges he faced during his climb to the top; the importance he places on marriage and being a family man; and his upcoming stand-up comedy film, KEVIN HART: WHAT NOW? Hart also opens up on hot topics including why he isn’t more outwardly “political” during a time when many celebrities are taking sides in the #allivesmatter and #blacklivesmatter debate.
“I love my people. I have never not stood by my people and by my race. I love representing my race all over the world at the highest level where people have to look and go, ‘Hey man, that strong Black man right there is a smart individual. He’s got it together; he’s trying to do some positive things.”
Speaking of positivity, the 2016 Men’s Issue is specifically devoted to uplifting Black men.

Idris Elba was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night where he was asked to indulge in a game of Box of Microphones. Guests are asked to choose from a selection of songs and then take their shot and belting out the tune using one of the microphones from the box. This is no ordinary box, the microphones each have a different special vocal effect.
When it was time to play Elba’s first selection was Desiigner’s hit “Panda.” Fallon was up next with Drake’s “One Dance,” and the two finished things off with a duet of Lionel Richie and Diana Ross’s “Endless Love.”
Time magazine released their annual 100 Most Influential People list this morning. Those named to the list encompass a multitude of disciplines and when describing this year’s list Time had this to say,
“There are world leaders and local activists, artists and athletes, scientists, moguls and a number of people who are running for President of the United States. One way or another they each embody a breakthrough: they broke the rules, broke the record, broke the silence, broke the boundaries to reveal what we’re capable of. They are seekers, with a fearless willingness to be surprised by what they find.”
One of these seekers is Nicki Minaj who earned one of the coveted cover spots along with other key players Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan, Leonardo DiCaprio, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Priyanka Chopra, and Christine Lagarde.
This year’s list was broken down into five categories: Pioneers, Titans, Artists, Leaders, and Icons. Pioneers who made the cut include comedian Aziz Ansari, Caitlin Jenner, and actress Gina Rodriguez. Titan honorees feature Dwayne Johnson, Stephen Curry, and Pope Francis. Kendrick Lamar, Ariana Grande, and Oscar Issacs are recognized as artists. Time chose Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Bernie Sanders as some of this year’s honorees under leaders. Lastly Adele, Usain Bolt, and Ronda Rousey are a few of the figures being recognized as Icons.
Time’s honorees aren’t just limited to favorable figures. This year’s honorees included some of the world’s most polarizing individuals like Republic Presidential nominee hopeful Donald Trump, North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un, and Vladamir Putin because they too have clout and can evoke reflection.
“The people on the list, each in their own way, have lessons to teach. We can debate those lessons; we don’t have to endorse them or agree with them. But the influence of this year’s TIME 100, to my mind, is that down to the last person, they have the power to make us think. And they are using it.”
There is no denying that everyone on this list holds some kind of influence in today’s world be it good or bad. You can check out the full list of honorees for Time’s 100 Most Influential People below.

Chris Hemsworth reprises his role asThor the God of Thunder and Lightning in Thor: The Dark World. The movie directly takes place after the events of The Avengers, Loki is locked up in Asgard and all hell seems to be breaking loose in Thor’s world. It must be really bad if Thor has to ask Loki for help. The movie is apart of Marvel’s “phase 2” plan with their film franchise as all the films tie into each other. Marvel clearly has its foot on the gas and doesn’t seem to be letting up at all. Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston and yes ladies Idris Elba return for the sequel.
