Fly Interview: Charlie Hunnam & Djimon Hounsou Talks ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ with SFPL

[ione_embed src= service=youtube width=854 height=480 type=iframe]

SFPL‘s Co-Creator & Editor, Gabriel Williams recently sat down with the stars of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Charlie Hunnam and Djimon Hounsou to talk about the action-packed film hitting theaters on Friday, May 12.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his dynamic style to the epic fantasy action adventure — Charlie and Djimon both tapped into their experience and explained special moments while filming and more. Also, the storyline itself tells a compelling overall story about dealing with life obstacles, facing fears, dealing with the death of loved ones, growing up without a family, hardship, and so much more.

Djimon speaks on the challenges that were displayed in the film:

The relatable fact about this story is that we can all identify with a kid that was raised in a brothel, bunch of women, and didn’t have a father, didn’t have a mother — actually, halfway on the streets, and we now follow his life experience all the way to the throne.

Djimon also gave important gems about staying healthy and fit.

Charlie spoke on the physical process of the film:

I wanted to be very very lean. It was a combination watching a diet and keeping a really clean diet. I also wanted to be fast on my feet. When you lift a lot of weights you get swollen and slow. I think the key is body weight, i.e calisthenics.

Fly Artist Round-Up: Antonio Ramsey, Blacc Zacc & Brian Angel

The “All Night Long” #funktrap single was written by Antonio Ramsey and Kareem James and produced by Brandon “Monstaa” Brown.

“As soon as I heard the guitar riff that plays the record in, it just felt sexy with that classic throwback feel to it,” mentions Antonio. “Then, of course, the Hennessy and cranberry kicked in, giving us the melody “Imma give that girl this d***” and from there the song just fell into place,” he chuckles. “The song is on the premise of how us as men should be upfront with a woman without sugar-coating what we want and how women should do the same.”

“Coming up in south Florida, I had no choice but to grow up a very straight forward type of person. I grew up listening to icons like James brown, Stevie Wonder & Jodeci! Some being able to put pieces of my life together to create #FunkTrap music is a journey that I look forward to,” says Antonio.

Antonio is preparing to hit the road on a promotional tour in support of the single and stops will include; New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Washington DC and Chicago, just to name a few. Antonio’s forthcoming debut EP will be released later this Fall.

You Should Know: Cris Cab Debuts New Song “Rest Of My Life”

As most of you know, I’m always here for good music and talent. Cris Cab is someone that has been on my radar for some time now and my ears are always at attention during the break of any new music from the Fly talent.

Today, Cris drops off a fresh new song for his fans titled “Rest Of My Life”. Over top of live boom bap drums and a signature guitar line, Cris brings out his songwriter side by telling a story of taking advantage of the time that we have.

He says:

“I wrote ‘Rest of My Life’ about not wasting time on THOTs, insta-models and unruly fashion stylists. Since then I’ve truly learned about the meaning of achieving happiness through hard work and determination. Where there is no risk, There is no achievement. Where there is no achievement, There is no real happiness, And wherever there is real happiness there aren’t many THOTs or insta-models. #Amen #BlessUp”
