Reebok to launch the Reebok Classic ZOKU RUNNER x Freebandz

Reebok Classic will launch the latest evolution of the ZOKU RUNNER through the launch of the Reebok Classic ZOKU RUNNER x Freebandz, representing the first collaboration for this new sneaker style.

Reebok Classic’s new contemporary silhouette, the ZOKU RUNNER first debuted on March 2 in London with a performance from Future at the famed Village Underground. The sneaker features the brand new ULTRAKNIT technology from Reebok, a method of knitting fused yarn to create a flexible and breathable sock-like upper that retains its shape while reducing material waste. The runner also features DMX Foam technology, a cushioning compound that dramatically reduces weight where it matters.

The Reebok Classic ZOKU RUNNER x Freebandz sneaker was designed with help from Future and the team on his Freebandz label. The sneaker features a two-tone black & white ULTRAKNIT upper with matching laces, reflective heel cage overlays embossed with ‘Reebok’ on the left shoe and ‘Freebandz’ on the right one, and a black & white marbled outsole with a glossy white midsole. Completing the design are Freebandz branding details on the sockliner, heel webbing, and collar.

Speaking to his natural synergies with Reebok Classic’s latest design, Future commented: “The ZOKU RUNNER is about evolution, moving forwards…that’s what I look to do creatively.”

Future’s A/W 2016 Freebandz Clothing Collection

Billboard chart-topping, 2x American Music Award nominee and rap superstar, FUTURE, has announced the official release of his August/Winter 2016 Freebandz Clothing Collection just in time for the holidays. The highly recognizable fashion influencer has collaborated with Freebandz creative director Fred Foster to introduce the new seasons line of limited edition pieces all seen being worn by Future during the highly successful “Summer Sixteen” tour with Drake. The A/W ’16 Freebandz Clothing Collection includes a variety of Future-inspired outerwear including the popular Freebandz winter and varsity jackets, “Kirkwood Atlanta” inspired jackets (camo, olive and burgundy), “Wicked” inspired denim jackets, Freebandz sweatshirts and sweatpants (black, red and mixed grey) – as well as Freebandz embroidered accessories including pins, scented candles and bandanas. For a limited time only, the A/W ’16 Freebandz Clothing Collection will also be offering a customized Future-inspired “Ho, Ho, Ho” holiday Christmas sweater – available in red.

When asked about the inspiration behind the new collection’s designs, Freebandz Creative Director Fred Foster says – “This collection was inspired by the historic Kirkwood neighborhood where Future grew up. We wanted each garment to somehow reflect part of his upbringing (e.g. with the Varsity) and also share a piece of his Kirkwood roots with his audience”.
