On this past Saturday, after a 10 year hiatus the five time Grammy-nominated duo, Floetry reunited on stage at Atlanta’ s Get Funk Fest! The two friends took the stage before headliners, Erykah Badu and Doug E. Fresh performing their hit records, “Say Yes” and “Floetic.”
Before their split in 2005, the English-soul group sold over 1.5 million albums and were considered to be the most promising neo-soul team at the time. While still maintaining a friendship, both creatives released multiple solo projects. Natalie “The Floacist” Stewart released 3 studio recorded albums showcasing her dedication to Floetry’s spoken word roots. Marsha “The Songstress” Ambrosius went on to release two mixtapes and two studio albums, which resulted in three Grammy nominations for her solo work, and displayed her experimentation with rap music and jazz. Both neo-soul artists achieved success with each of their projects landing on the Billboard US R&B Charts. Now the pair are extremely excited for their U.S. tour this summer and giving special performances at the Essence Music Festival and the Spirit Festival.
