Last Night In NYC: Akon, Peter Rosenberg & NY’s Elite Celebrate ZenoLive


On Thursday, February 18th, Marquee hosted the launch event for ZenoLive, a free interactive broadcasting platform that enables anyone to create and distribute audio content in seconds. Guests of the star-studded soiree enjoyed floating appetizers, drinks, and a live performance, along with music from Hot 97‘s DJ Juanyto.

The system was created to provide a unique audio experience that will allow users and content creators to have an intimate conversation.

“We’re here tonight to celebrate the introduction of a great new system, created so audio broadcasters and producers can share their voice and connect worldwide with ease,” said Morris Berger, CEO.

“Everyday technology is making world smaller,” said multi-platinum selling artist AKON during his keynote presentation. “Conversations that used to be seen as just local issues are taking place globally. ZenoLive is helping people take part and frame those conversations. It’s an amazing time and I am happy to be here for the launch.”

Peter Rosenberg, of Hot 97 and ESPN, was the master of ceremonies and held a Q & A session with the executives and producers of ZenoLive. Veteran music executive Jay Berman provided an introduction to AKON. Notable guests included Laura Stylez, Joell Ortiz, Lisa Evers, Chrissy Monroe, Peter Gunz, Jo Paul, Angelica Vila, Rebstar, Par-city, Johnny Donovan, and Monifah.

Samsung at All-Star 2016: A$AP Ferg, Angela Simmons, Kevin Durant, Pau Gasol, James Harden and More



Last night at The Samsung Experience, A$AP Ferg who is in the process of mixing his latest album Always Strive and Prosper set to debut in the Spring surprised Samsung owners at a special show rewarding Galaxy Owners during NBA All-Star 2016.


The unforgettable performance by Ferg was kicked off by DJ SNS with guest hosts Angela Simmons and Terrence J.

A$AP Ferg got the party started with “Work” and closed out with “New Level” – his latest collaboration with Future.

Additionally, throughout the weekend, NBA Stars Kevin Durant, Pau Gasol, Andrew Wiggins, James Harden and more stopped by Samsung spaces to surprise fans and check out the latest devices.

#GrammyWeekend: 10th Annual Roots Jam Session & Serato Pyro Launch with John Legend, Leon Bridges, Nelly, Tori Kelly & Many More

The 10th Annual Roots Jam Session and launch party for new iOS music player app Serato Pyro kicked off last night with a four hour jam session from The Roots and surprise performances from some of this year’s Grammy nominated artists and all-time favorites.

The Roots were first joined by 2016 Grammy nominee Kehlani for a couple of songs. John Legend then took over the stage with a piano to continue to bring down the house with The Roots. Best New Artist nominee and the most recent star to join The Voice as Adam Levine’s advisor, Tori Kelly then took the stage and performed 3 songs with her guitar. Indie artist Bilal jammed out before Jeremih jumped up to sing several of his famed hip hop songs, including “Don’t Tell Em.”

Finally, Nelly surprised the crowd and performed 3 of his classics, “E.I.,” “Ride Wit Me,” and Hot in Herre.”  Leon Bridges and Natasha Bedingfield were also in attendance.

Questlove, John Legend, Tori Kelly and more artists and industry guests took to the new iOS music player app and first consumer product from Serato, Serato Pyro, to curate a special playlist from the evening that is available now exclusively on Serato Pyro, for free download in the App Store. You can also find other exclusive playlists from DJ Jazzy Jeff, A-Trak, Diplo, Aoki, The Roots and more.

Last Night In NYC: JBL Host Private Screening of Damian Lillard Music Video “Bigger Than Us”


Recently, music fans and basketball enthusiasts gathered for the JBL In Studio private screening of NBA All-Star Damian Lillard’s at new music video “Bigger Than Us” at the Harman Store (JBL’s parent company) in New York City.


Hosted by iconic radio personality and hip-hop journalist Miss Info, the invite-only event provided attendees with an exclusive opportunity to watch the video prior to its world premiere.


The Oakland-native Lillard ,stage-named “Dame Dolla”, was joined by his NBA teammates (Mason Plumlee, Allan Crabbe, C.J. McCollum and more) in celebrating the release of his debut music video. Also in attendance to view the release of the Lillard’s new video was hip-hop mainstay and gatekeeper Sway Calloway.

Inside the event, guest enjoyed custom cocktails and small bites while enjoying the sounds of DJ Wonder. Guests also enjoyed testing out the latest audio products from JBL, including the Pulse 2, and a meet and greet with Lillard.

Last Night In L.A.: Nas Host #FeatureFridaysLA Inside Playhouse Nightclub


Veteran Rapper Nas made his way over to L.A.’s nightlife hotspot, Playhouse Nightclub for #FeatureFridaysLA party series.



Tagged along with the Queensbridge affiliate was none other than the King of “hosting all things fly,” Kenny Burns spotted with a mic in-hand as he makes sure the crowd was fully entertained.


Just releasing her new mixtape The Waiting Game, artist/singer Mila J was also on deck to support and enjoy the festivities.

Last Night In NYC: HBO’s 3 1/2 Minutes Screening

Recently, HBO hosted an invite-only screening of the documentary 3 1/2 Minutes, Ten Bullets at the historic Schomburg Center in Harlem, New York. The film probes the case of Jordan Davis, a black teenager, and Michael Dunn, a middle-aged white man, whose encounter over loud music outside a convenience store ended in the young man’s death.

(Dr. Jelani Cobb moderated a discussion with Davis’ Parents, Lucy McBath and Ron Davis.)

The screening was accompanied by an impactful Q&A discussion with Davis’ parents Lucy McBath and Ron Davis, moderated by University of Connecticut professor and staff writer for The New Yorker, Dr. Jelanie Cobb. During the conversation, Davis and McBath spoke about their experiences during the trial process and how their unimaginable loss led them to inspire change and hope through activism. In addition to the screening and discussion, Joshua Bennett of the New York-base poetry collective The Strivers Row, performed a special spoken-word poem dedicated to Jordan Davis.

Guests gathered inside the Schomburg Center’s Langston Hughes Auditorium for a cocktail hour and the signing of the interactive “My Life Matters Because” Art Wall – where attendees could share why their life matters.

The private screening precedes the debut of the film on November 23rd, the three-year anniversary of tragic shooting.

Russell Simmons presents All Def Comedy Live by Celsius, powered by The Brand Group in Hollywood , California Home of the Stars was the place to be last evening. The Funniest night in the country was hosted by Tony Rock and featured some of the best comedians in the world.

Last night The Champ Floyd Mayweather decided to be ADCL’s special guest and who knew that he would end up paying some crowd members rent payment.

What all started as a funny joke with Tony Rock and a crowd member, turned into the young lady asking Floyd to pay her rent, The champ said “How Much?”, The lady said “$1400.00”, The Champ took out the money and gave it to her. What a way to end a Wednesday night, No wonder he’s the peoples Champ.

Last Night In NYC: Global Spin Awards with Swizz Beatz, Alicia Keys, Timbaland and More


Entertainment heavy hitters gathered at The Fourth Annual Global Spin Awards last night to celebrate and honor the most dynamic and talented DJ’s around the world, both past and present. Special guests ranged from host Swizz Beatz, Mark Ronson, Alicia Keys, Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr, 2 Chainz, Ty Dolla $ign, T-Pain, Jonathan Cheban, Timbaland and more.

Afrikaa Bambaataa “The God Father” of Hip-Hop and innovative spin master, Mark Ronson, were both honored at this year’s show for The Lifetime Achievement and Breaking Barriers awards, for their accomplishments, passion and all around influence on the art of DJ’ing.

The Global Spin Award show will air on REVOLT TV on November 24, 2015 at 8pm EST/ 5pm PST.

DJ Enuff kept the crowd moving on the 1’s & 2’s.


Hennessy V.S was the official sponsor of the event and featured Laura’s drink of choice “Stylez & Spice,” a recipe that includes Hennessy V.S, ginger beer, lime juice, and simple syrup served on the rocks.
