Rick Ross Launches ‘Rich Hair Care’ Line

Music mogul and expanding entrepreneur Rick Ross has announced another new and exciting business partnership. His most recent business venture and perhaps the most unforeseen one is a close partnership with luxury hair care line RICH Hair Care. Rick Ross, also known as “The Boss,” has coined the “Rich” term as the title of one of his most successful mixtapes Rich Forever, his Instagram handle (@richforever) and will now use the word association to help further develop the RICH Hair Care brand. The news comes shortly after Ross announced his debut studio album under Epic Records, titled Rather You Than Me and his investment in the burger industry with Checkers/Rally’s restaurants. Recently, Ross held an intimate event titled “Beauty & Belaire” in Atlanta, Georgia to officially make the special announcement. The event was presented by Maybach Music Group and took place at Ross’ massive 235-acre home. The night was hosted by Tahira Joyco-founder of The Cut Life with cocktails courtesy of none other than Ross’ signature champagne, Belaire Rosé.  The room was filled with Atlanta’s top beauty influencers, press, and bloggers.
“We are extremely excited to partner up with such an icon as Rick Ross. He’s a master of blurring the lines between commercial and entertainment worlds, not to mention his ability to generate a brand halo,” said, Indrek Lohmus, CEO of RICH Hair Care

“This is an amazing new venture for me, and one that I am most excited about. Beauty and Hair care are both huge markets,” says Rick Ross. “I appreciate and understand quality products, especially when those products are used to enhance your overall personal health and appearance. Being a supporter of men’s grooming and healthy facial hair in specific, I was more than pleasantly surprised with RICH Hair Care products and had personally used them before this partnership. I’ve always been asked about my beard, hair care and what I use to take care of myself. It was something that I always overlooked until I sat down and really thought about the benefits and the message that could be created by partnering with the great guys at RICH Hair Care. I am excited to build a global network around this new RICH Hair Care venture, continue the entrepreneurial conversations and offer additional exposure to an incredible brand.”
Ross has previously invested in Belaire champagne, Wingstop, Checkers/Rally’s, and now RICH Hair Care.  Please see more photos of the intimate cocktail event “Beauty & Belaire” below:

Candice tells Rap-Up:

“The track is supposed to remind you of the weekend, a day off, and releasing the stress by hanging out with friends and family, going to the club, having a couple cocktails. The treatment of the video is slightly different, but the song is supposed to give you that good feeling.”

Candice describe the song perfectly as the song does give a great example of the perfect R&B track that will set you in the perfect mood.

Worldwide platinum-selling hip-hop icon and Coke Boys music founder French Montana, one of the most prolific and instantly recognizable players in the game today – with nearly 300 lead and feature appearances on singles, album and mixtape tracks and videos – has officially signed to the roster of the new Bad Boy Entertainment/Epic Records partnership, it was jointly announced by Bad Boy founder Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and Epic Chairman and CEO LA Reid.

Montana makes his Bad Boy/Epic debut today in grand style with the release of a new song and video, “Figure It Out” featuring Kanye West and Nas.

“Figure It Out” was first introduced in February on Wave Gods, Montana’s newest Coke Boys mixtape, but today’s Bad Boy/Epic release marks the first time it will be made available for purchase and for streaming.

Quotes from LA, Diddy & Harve Pierre & French:

“Anyone who has paid attention to the course of hip-hop over the past decade has found French Montana consistently at the eye of the storm,” said Mr. Reid. “He has funneled his North African roots and Bronx upbringing into a unique presence on hundreds of tracks by artists across the musical spectrum. French has now become one of hip-hop’s core artists himself, and I’m happy to welcome him to the Epic family.”

“French Montana is a proven Hit Maker,” said Sean “Diddy” Combs. “When I first heard him, I knew he had that special Bad Boy sound and I believed in his potential. He was on the fast track then, and now, to see how far he’s come, he’s a major force in Hip-Hop and a key member of the Bad Boy Family. Bad Boy is known for creating the biggest acts in hip-hop – and French is not only a part of our legacy but now also a part of our new chapter at Epic Records.”

“French Montana has accomplished more in the past few years than most artists are able to achieve in their entire career,” said Harve Pierre, President of Bad Boy Entertainment. “When first bringing French to the company, I knew that he would become a tremendous asset and bring overall value to the brand. As a member of the Bad Boy family, he has already put his mark on some of the hottest music around, and has shown the world the future of hip-hop.”

“Love the respect and appreciation that LA Reid and his team have for music. I think it’s rare to find that in the industry today,” said French Montana. “Being able to start this chapter at Epic with my Bad Boy family is a blessing. Puff and Harve have been like big brothers to me and there’s nothing better than making music with the people you love.”

The video for “Figure It Out” was directed by the renowned Eif Rivera, who has worked with Montana on numerous projects including clips for some of his biggest tracks (among them “Freaks” featuring Nicki Minaj, and “Bad Bitch” featuring Jeremih), as well as collaborations with Jeremih (“Don’t Tell Em Remix”), Quincy (“Friends First”), the Neighborhood (“#ICantEven”), Joe Budden (“NBA”), and many others.

Congrats to French!

French Montana Takes Us To The Desert For “Figure It Out” feat. Kanye West & Nas

French Montana takes us to the California desert for his video for “Figure It Out,” the standout track off his Wave Gods mixtape released back in February. The visual for the Kanye West and Nas collaboration was shot at the Mojave Air & Space Port back in March.

The striking video follows Montana, West, and Nas as they roam the desert surrounded by planes that have long been forgotten, as riders on dirt bikes fly through the air performing ridiculous tricks.

The release of the video coincides with the announcement that the Bronx rapper inked a deal with the new joint venture between Epic Records and Bad Boy Entertainment. Montana was previously signed to Interscope Records where his sophomore LP Mac & Cheese 4 faced a myriad of delays.

Rick Ross Is “LIT” About Leaving Def Jam For Epic Records

Holding down the Def Jam mainframe for some time now, Rick Ross now makes yet another boss move and makes his way over to his new label home, Epic Records.

News broke recently, which left everyone a little confused but with eyebrows raised wondering if this perhaps was a good move. But looking at Epic’s recent track record, the conglomerate seems to be on the winning streak.

Ricky has been signed to Def Jam for the past ten years. During his stay, the talented MMG rapper dropped eight studio albums.

Ross signed his deal with Epic as a solo artist but we’re sure eventually the rest of his Maybach Music camp will join the flow. He also joins his fellow music cohort Diddy who also made a transition over to the established entertainment home.

Rick posted this pic on Instagram captioned “LIT!”.

On the low, we kinda want that hoodie! Send a few over Ross!

Epic also tweeted the news and welcomed Rozay with open arms.

Congrats to Rick, LA Reid and the entire Epic staff!

Fly Visual: Mack Wilds Pays Homage To Spike Lee’s ‘Do The Right Thing’ In Video For “Love In The 90z”

Mack Wilds Love In The 90z

Mack Wilds ended  his year on an extremely high note appearing alongside Adele in her visual for her mega-hit “Hello” and now he’s making sure his 2016 is just as good. With 2016 is already starting on a high note for the actor/singer with success of the VH1 original movie The Breaks which reeled in 2.6 million viewers, he follows it up with the release of the visual for his latest single “Love In The 90z”.

The song serves as the first single off his upcoming sophomore album to be released under Epic Records. On the infectious tune Mack sings about that old school kind love, the kind you used to feel listening to R&B records from the likes of Jodeci and Keith Sweat. In the Benny Boom directed visual, Mack draws inspiration from Spike Lee’s classic joint Do The Right Thing, filming on the same exact block in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn.

Mack premiered the video through Fader and spoke about the filming visual:

Shooting the ‘Love in the 90z’ video on the same block as the Spike Lee movie was shot was like nostalgia since that’s largely where the concept of the video is inspired from.Working with Benny Boom on this visual, we were able to capture the essence of New York back in the 90z, with a current, fresh feel to it.
