Justine Skye Releases New EP ‘8 Ounces’ Assisted by The-Dream and Tricky Stewart

The Purple Unicorn herself, Justine Skye shows no signs of stopping! The talented Brooklyn native drops her very own EP entitled 8 Ounces. The 9-track project was written and produced by hitmaker The-Dream along with Tricky Stewart. Standout tracks: “Love Song”, “Tonight”, “Jezebel”, “Fun” feat. Wale and “Strangers” and “Agenda.”

On “Jezebel,” Justine touches on a little ex-BFF beef:

Internet thuggin
Avatar muggin
Now you got me black bagging
Got you on thought when I’m dragging, you

Jezebel, you’re the girl the guys know so well
Oh Jezebel, don’t wanna front you out but what the hell

We used to be friends
Now you all in my DM
From AM to PM
I just delete them

About The-Dream via Genius:

“The-Dream was like my diary,” she explained. “I would sit there and talk his ear off about all my guy situations; he would just turn my stories into songs.”

Now, standing tall at the age of 21, Skye was ready to get much more personal with her music giving certain scenarios of what she has been through in the love zone, meeting different people — all while growing up.

About ‘8 Ounces’:

“Eight ounces is the average weight of the female heart. Now that I’m 21, I’m meeting different people from different parts of the world and I’m figuring out myself more and figuring out guys more. This whole EP is my diary of situations that I’ve gone through since my last project.”

Keith Jacobs’ Debut EP, Still Tippin, Peeks at #36 on iTunes R&B Charts

Keith Jacobs’ music has a style and vibe that pierces through our feelings with subtle sonic influences from Houston’s iconic music culture. He sings with sensuality, appreciating every aspect of a woman. He’s loyal to his artistry, and the music holds the key to his soul. He’s intriguing; forcing you to want to know more about the man and the artist. No stranger to love, Keith often finds himself as the muse in which his lyrics flow, embodying the good and bad experiences of his life. He’s transparently honest and true to his music. It doesn’t come as a surprise that by sharing his art with the world, he wants us to not be afraid of being transparent in our relationships.

With the release of his debut EP, Still Tippin, Jacobs shares his emotions and wants us to trust him with ours. The project takes us on an impulsive and melodic ride.

Keith’s ambition and artistry will not allow you to forget who he is, nor will it allow him to fail. You’ll find that passion to succeed evident in his lyrics, as well as what’s most important to him: family, loyalty and constant progression. When Limitations Meets Music, August Rigo Drops ‘1243’ Mini EP

Singer/Songwriter August Rigo released his mini EP 1243 on SoundCloud. After much behind-the-scenes song-writing success with hits such as Justin Bieber’s “U Smile,” One Direction’s “Gotta Be You” and most recently Chris Brown’s “Back To Sleep,” as well as his own 2016 Juno Nominated album The Fall Out, Rigo is back with a collection of songs inspired by his environment.

“I created this 3 song ep with the idea of creativity through limitations. 1 keyboard (korg minilogue), 1 out of tune piano and the natural sounds of the house were my only choices. This is the sound of 1243.”

Artwork design by BANA, additional production by Vincent Nantes and featuring Ginette Claudette.

‘1243’ will be available everywhere on Friday, November 11th, 2016.

PJay Johnson Releases New EP ‘Insignificant Other’ [SFPL Playlist]

R&B Singer/Songwriter PJay Johnson has released his much-anticipated body of work entitled Insignificant Other.

PJay says:

“This EP is just honest, rather than say what I know people would want to hear, I chose to speak on what I really felt about love and relationships. Even if you don’t agree, you can respect my truth. I show the side of me that could care less about a woman’s feelings and the side of me that reflects how vulnerable a man could be.”

The EP was executive produced by TheLX with other featured producers such as DeeTenn, theEgos, The Remedy and others.

The video for the title track of the EP, ‘Insignificant Other’ has also been officially released worldwide.

The video was conceptualized by Adum7 and features PJay’s virtual breakup all through the perspective of activity on his iPhone. Taking on controversial ideals of authenticity, love, emotional support (and lack there of) and split second decisions in today’s virtual world.

Fly EP: Cocoa Sarai – ‘Nostalgia, The Vibey EP’

NOSTALGIA, The Vibey EP, is the newest release from established Brooklyn Singer/Songwriter, Cocoa Sarai. The talented artist is no stranger to SFPL, as we believe she is the most underrated artist of our generation.

The EP features 9-melodic tracks including lead single “Robots”, created by super producer Rick Hertz.

Cocoa says:

I found myself in a barrage of sleepless nights in the last few months. I met 3am with ease on a regular basis. Structure can kill creativity sometimes. Most of this project was created at 3AM when the world was sleep and my heart couldn’t rest. I turned my Mic on and let it flow. The honest of night allowed me to tap into a very airy, spiritual and vi Vibey place. Feelings and melodies that I couldn’t write down if I tried flowed out of me. My heart was speaking and I let it! Honestly, I just turned off all the lights, loaded up a series of ProTools sessions, walked up to the Microphone and let my thoughts do the talking. It has very therapeutic to say the least.

The project also highlights several amazing producers and artists such as the incredible V-Notes, WOLFGVNG, Marq C and many more.

‘NOSTALGIA, The Vibey EP’, will be sure to appease true Cocoa Sarai fans as well as grab her newer audiences. Trust us, she’s THE TRUTH.
