Dora Martin Shows Many Facets of Love In “Another Life” [New Video]

Three years after releasing their seminal debut EP Coalition, which was championed by BBC 1Xtra, MTV, BET and Spotify among others, and birthed breakthrough singles such as ‘Skyline’ and ‘Soldier’, London-bred alternative R&B duo Dora Martin are back, and are proud to announce their long-awaited and highly anticipated sophomore EP Him, Her, Them, to be released on October 10, 2016.

The first offering from the forthcoming EP is lead single “Another Life” and its accompanying music video. Written by Dora Martin, and produced by SOS (Sons of Sonix), who have previously worked with the likes of Wretch 32, Stormzy and Tinie Tempah, ‘Another Life’ is exactly what we love about Dora Martin – relatable stories, impeccable vocals, lush harmonies and songwriting excellence.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Another Life’, DM confess:

“The concept was inspired by our friendship of over 15 years, and we believe this subject matter is relatable from both a male and female perspective. People who form close friendships are often initially attracted to each other, but it’s often a taboo subject that isn’t really talked about, in fear of spoiling a healthy relationship”.

Made up of two already thriving solo musicians Cherri Voncelle and Jermain Riley, Dora Martin is not your typical R&B duo. Having both experienced the roller coaster of the music industry – from major record deals to independent releases and everything in between – Voncelle and Riley have put their creative minds together, to birth something special, and free from any boundaries or limitations.

Their new EP shows the duo collaborating once again with Truth, who produced their debut single “Skyline”, as well as producers PRGRSHN (Angel,WSTRN, Rukhsana Merrise), and SOS (Wretch 32, Ariana Grande, Stormzy) who produced “Another Life”, with the duo promising a return to their signature innovative sound in the face of today’s music climate.

Fly Visual: London’s Own Cherri V Puts A Twist On Lil Kim’s Classic Song with “Insta Crush”

London’s seasoned songbird from the super duo Dora Martin, Cherri V debuts a new viral video entitled “Insta Crush.” The song is reminiscent to the sounds of Lil Kim‘s classic hip-hop track “Crush On You,” as Cherri adds her personal flavor to the massive cut.

In the video, Cherri struts through the streets donned in a long black suede coat, webbed bra top, accented with a gold-buckled belt with her signature red hair flowing in the wind as she sings about her Instagram crush.

“…the followers will know, an I’m tryna keep a low profile way down in your profile, I don’t wanna seem too keen I might, double tap 👆🏾👆🏾 one, two, maybe three, on a late night hope you notice me…. “

FLY EP: Dora Martin’s Cherri V Debuts ‘Athazagoraphobia’

London singer-songwriter Cherri V debuts her brand new 3rd studio EP titled Athazagoraphobia!

By definition, ‘Athazagoraphobia’ is the “fear of being forgotten or ignored”.

According to Cherri:

“its the fear of many creatives and a phobia which ironically motivates us”.

Althazagoraphobia or not though, Cherri V is one of the most striking and unforgettable artists in today’s British music landscape.

With unique Pop, Soul and R&B sensibilities, Cherri V has most recently lent her sweet and enticing vocals to Lethal Bizzle’s UK Top 20 single “The Drop.” She has also worked with Jessie J, Wiley and Dawn Richard among other, and is one half of critically acclaimed duo Dora Martin with Jermaine Riley. The Telegraph describes Cherri as one of the UK’s brightest R&B stars, with Yahoo! Music praising her for a distinguishable sound which sets her apart from everyone else.

For ‘Athazagoraphobia’, her third solo EP, Cherri V bares her soul to her listener in rather glorious and compelling fashion. From opening track “I Can’t Help It,” which sees Cherri battling with the prospects of quitting music for good, to “Roller Coaster,” that shares the bitter truth of the rise and fall in life and career, to the EP’s lead single “Girl In The Mirror” with its poignant message of beauty perception and self acceptance.

Combined with fan favorite and single ladies anthem “2016,” the Davinche-produced “Deadline” and the music business indicting “Formula,” Cherri has crafted a remarkable body of work that is impossible to be forgotten or ignored even in the least bit.

Cherri says:

“I want this EP to be a reminder to people, of who I am and what I do at whatever capacity, also for new listeners to experience an emotive body of work matched with credible songs and strong vocals”.

Instead of picking 3 or 4 singles, talented singer-songwriter-producer Jermaine Riley (of Dora Martin) decided to do something different and shoot a visual for the entire project! Friend of the Fly Guys, Riley has been consistently on the go, serving up new music and videos for all to enjoy.

The visual was co-directed by his brother Shaun Riley (see Dora Martin’s “Skyline”) and assisted by OmniKreations (see Dora Martin’s “Soldier”).
