The Word: LeBron James and Cleveland Cavaliers Teammates Won’t Be Resting Their Heads In Trump Hotels

LeBron James the outspoken leader of the 2015-2016 NBA champions Cleveland Cavaliers won’t be gracing any Trump Hotels in the foreseeable future.

Bron and some of his Cavalier teammates will be breaking league protocol by refusing to stay in the Trump SoHo when the Cavs visit New York City to take on the Knicks. The move should come as no surprise, LeBron this past election was a staunch supporter of Hillary Clinton and gave her a ringing endorsement.

NY Mag reported:

“Cavaliers general manager David Griffin said on Monday that the team would find alternative accommodation for any players who don’t want to stay at a Trump property and that plans have been made for any “group that wants to be elsewhere to be together elsewhere.”

The Cavaliers are not the first team who vouched to avoid Trump properties in response to Trump being elected President. The Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks and Milwaukee Bucks also stated they will not be staying at any Trump Hotels.

The Cavaliers also were the last championship team to be honored by President Barack Obama at the White House this year.

The boycott is not only focusing on Trump’s property but athletes are already discussing if they would even visit the White House if invited by Trump. Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert has already stated if the Cavaliers repeat as champions (I hope they do) he will not be visiting the White House to meet with Trump.

Trump’s presidency is definitely filling the air with uncertainty sprinkled with a heavy dose of divisiveness as we don’t know what this man will do once he sets foot in the White House. One thing that is pretty certain folks ain’t here for Trump and the King is leading that parade.

Millions Converge On Downtown Cleveland To Celebrate At Cleveland Cavaliers Championship Parade.

 

Cleveland put on a parade for the ages to celebrate ending their 52-year-old championship drought. It definitely looked like all of Cleveland and them some were on hand to congratulate LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

With approximately 1.3 million fans on hand, some of them even slept overnight on sidewalks to ensure themselves a good spot to see their champions and let them know just how thankful they are. They all converged on downtown Cleveland and at one point even spilled into the streets along the parade route. Unanimous NBA Finals MVP LeBron James and big shot maker Kyrie Irving slowly navigated the parade route in style riding in Bron of course in a Rolls Royce.

J.R. Smith who hasn’t worn a shirt since winning the chip was definitely loving every single minute of the celebration.

He wasn’t alone going shirtless as teammates Mo Williams, Kyrie Irving (pictured earlier) and Iman Shumpert also decided to go shirtless.

This has been season full of a lot of firsts for the Cavaliers during their playoff run. They were the first team to come back from a 3-1 deficit and LeBron James was the first player to lead in all statistical categories during the finals. Now Cleveland has made history for their amazing celebration.

In a heartwarming moment, Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown who was part of the Cleveland Browns championship team handed LeBron James the Larry O’brien trophy. It was truly a changing of the guard for the city of Cleveland.

Cleveland definitely showed out for their champions today, congrats Cleveland you earned this parade and hopefully you will never suffer another insanely long drought ever again.

That shouldn’t be an issue though as LeBron has already confirmed he isn’t going anywhere.

eBron James has finally ended his social media silence or as he calls it “Zero Dark 23” and all of his “haters” were the subject of discussion.

Power Season 2, Episode 8 Recap

Fresh off his impressive NBA Finals performance, LeBron immediately hopped on his Instagram account and first posted a video with him and the Larry O’Brien trophy. In the video Bron express his love for the highly coveted prize in the NBA.

LeBron didn’t stop there though as it was time to call out all of the sports pundits and haters who said the King couldn’t get the job done. LeBron basically points out every single criticism that came his way this season and lets them know they were dead wrong about him. But most importantly LeBron just wants them to #PutsomeRespekOnHisName.

Let them know Bron, and talk yo ish you earned this championship. No one can slander your name ever again.

LeBron James has done it again! In what is shaping into one the greatest sports stories ever he returns home, and leads the Cavaliers back to the finals.

This is  LeBron’s 5th consecutive trip to the NBA Finals, his second as a Cleveland Cavalier and that is no small accomplishment. Him and his Cavalier teammates made light work of the no.1 seed  Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Finals blowing them out in the final game 118 to 88.

Adding insult to injury not only did the Hawk’s get run out of the gym, but they got swept.

 

To make matters even worse , our good friends over at Instagram had to shine light on the fact that former Knicks, Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith made it to the NBA Finals after leaving NYC for greener pastures to go to the Cavaliers. The memes instantly popped up as the time wound down on the Hawks impressive season.

Social media didn’t hold no punches when it came to calling out the Atlanta Hawks. What’s even more hilarious is the fact the Knicks, who were nowhere near the playoffs are feeling the heat tonight as well.
