The exclusive, invite-only party featured performances by hip hop icons Busta Rhymes, DJ Enuff and DJ Freedom as well as the next generation of rap superstars, including Tee Grizzley, Smack White and Tre’ Da Kid, winner of the 2016 #freestyle50 challenge.

SFPL’s Artist Spotlight: Conglomerate ENT’s Aaron Cooks Delivers “Yellow/Day Up” [Video]

A new icon is on the rise, a star that will take over the world and reign in hip hop music and his name is Aaron Cooks.

Born, bred and raised in the streets of Syracuse NY, a young lyricist by the name of Aaron Cooks steps out on the music scene summoning the world with a new genre of hip hop he describes as “Esoteric Trap” Music. Aaron uniquely bridges the gap between consciousness and renegade street life, adding uplifting lyrics while still describing the very harsh realities that he’s been through. Cooks also incorporates some melodies and always spits laser sharp lyrics over beats that have boom bap and bounce. His goal is constant elevation as he takes you on his musical journey.

Aaron has been featured on SWAY In The Morning and DJ Kay Slay‘s Sirius XM Radio shows where he came through with monstrous freestyles, annihilating a myriad of beats. He has also performed at the 2015 Source 360 Showcase, shutting it down making non believers into believers. Cooks was also apart of this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards cypher, which airs tonight on BET.

In 2016, Aaron is working on new music and he will soon deliver his debut mixtape. He is managed by Lord Jamar of the legendary hip hop group Brand Nubian and is also apart of hip hop icon Busta Rhymes The Conglomerate Entertainment, record label.

Today, Aaron Cooks world premiers his mini movie “Yellow/Day Up” on BET Jams and World Star Hip Hop.

Check it out above right here as we feature Aaron in our “Artist Spotlight.”
