Inspired by the act of marbling, the literal mixing together to form a new matter, legendary designer Jeff Staple, and breakout, design talent Alexander-John, as a part of the first-ever Craft Syndicate by Dutch Masters incubator, have launched their highly anticipated collab: “Metamorphism” by Alexander-John and Jeff Staple.
The Craft Syndicate collaboration brings together the creator of the iconic ‘pigeon’ and the self-taught artist, who handcrafted, the Brooklyn Zoo custom Nike Dunk for music mogul Jay Z. Revealed during an exclusive event at New York City’s Extra Butter, the 10-piece, limited edition capsule collection is available only at the Extra Butter pop-up shop through Thursday, Nov. 17, and features hand painted Adidas NMDs, t-shirts, hoodies and more, ranging from $20-$450.
Personifying artistry and hustle, Staple was tapped by Craft Syndicate to search out, select and mentor an aspiring master in a design incubator. With more than 1,000 designers competing for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work face-to-face with Staple, Alexander-John was selected by Staple and a panel of industry of judges: musician and entertainer Fonzworth Bentley, LTD Magazine founder and Chef for Higher, “Hawaii” Mike Salman, Urban Culture Expert Sean Malcolm, and Stylist and Image Consultant Jocelynn Jacobs.
