After making a name for himself on the underground circuit for the past several years, Philadelphia-based MC AR-AB is looking to thrust himself into the mainstream. This comes after the was famously name-dropped on Drake’s “Back To Back” and yielding a major cosign from Birdman CEO of Cash Money Records. Now, with the lead single from his forthcoming major label debut on the horizon, AR-AB serves an appetizer for new listeners and his day one fans in the form of “Protocol Vol.1.” The 11-track project is filled with all original music and showcases the Philly rhyme-spitter’s musical growth.
Philadelphia’s top gunner Ar-Ab has not stopped flooding the streets with material since he was famously name checked on Drake’s “Back To Back” in the summer of 2015.
Taking full advantage of his newfound notoriety, the up and coming artist released a bevy of freestyles, adding his aggressive street take on popular hits, while also infusing that with some brand new original material.
His efforts surely paid off as he inked a deal with Birdman’s Cash Money Records/Rich Gang earlier this year. Taking things further back, Ar-Ab gave The Rapfest the green-light to premiere his brand new freestyle over The Luniz’s Hip Hop classic “I Got 5 On It”.
