#GrammyWeekend: Celebrities Attend Essence’s Black Women In Music Gala Presented by Lincoln Motor Company

The Lincoln Motor Company returned this year as an exclusive automotive sponsor for ESSENCE’s eighth annual Black Women in Music event held last night in Los Angeles. 2017 marks the eighth consecutive year Lincoln has been an elite patron for the event.

This year’s event celebrated nominees from the biggest night in music, along with singer/songwriter Erykah Badu on the 20th anniversary of her groundbreaking debut album Baduizm.

Award-winning singer/songwriter Estelle joined Lincoln on stage as part of the festivities to premiere her feature in Lincoln’s ongoing First Listen series. The latest feature, available for viewing on Lincoln Now, previews Estelle’s latest track, “Be in Luv,” from behind the wheel of the all-new Lincoln Continental.

Nigerian singer-songwriter, actress, and Roc Nation‘s very own Tiwa Savage also performed live as an opening act just before Erykah hit the stage.

Anthony Hamilton Premieres New Video “Ever Seen Heaven”, Receives Nomination for Soul Train Award

Anthony Hamilton debuts his music video for the track “Ever Seen Heaven,” which was filmed near the ocean to depict the purest form of love between Hamilton and his female companion. The single is from his fifth studio album, What I’m Feelin’, which was released earlier this spring via RCA Records.
In addition to premiering his new music video, Anthony also received a nomination for “Best R&B/Soul Male Artist” for the 2016 Soul Train Music Awards. For this category, Hamilton is nominated alongside Bryson Tiller, Maxwell, The Weeknd, and Usher. The filming for the awards will take place on November 6th before it airs on Centric and BET at 8 p.m. ETon November 27.
Along with new music videos and award nominations, Anthony has remained busy this fall with recent television appearances on Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon. Hamilton also embarked on his second tour of the year with Eric Benet and Lalah Hathaway, at the beginning of October. Anthony’s latest album, What I’m Feelin’ is available for purchase.

Chance The Rapper Delivers “Blessings” with D.R.A.M., Anthony Hamilton, Ty Dolla Sign & Raury on Jimmy Fallon

Still committed on changing the pace of hip-hop music in a more positive direction, Chance The Rapper stuns the audience and many onlookers at home with a profound performance of his song “Blessings (Reprise)” from the current album Coloring Book.

Tagging along with Chance were the likes of Raury, Ty Dolla Sign, Anthony Hamilton and D.R.A.M. who each added their own vocal flavor to the Fred Hammond inspired song, paired with choir all decked out in white robes throughout the aisles; spreading the gospel cheer.

This is definitely one performance you will not forget.

Chris Brown feat. Tank, R. Kelly and Anthony Hamilton – “Back To Sleep” (Remix 3)

It’s time for Round 3! Chris Brown serves up his remix installment of “Back To Sleep” as it features Tank, R. Kelly and Anthony Hamilton.

On the song, Tank starts things off with his smooth crooning effects, Kelly comes in with his signature sound, and then Hamilton ends things off with his soulful sound as he closes the mix.

In case you missed it, Part 1’s remix included Usher and Zayn Malik. Part 2 featured Miguel, August Alsina and Trey Songz.

Fly Visual: Just In Time for #InternationalWomensDay Singer Anthony Hamilton Tributes That Special Loved One With “Amen”


After his soulful performance on The Real, Anthony Hamilton returns with a romantic, heartfelt visual for “Amen”.

The black and white visual was exclusively premiered on and demonstrates Hamilton’s passionate emotions and appreciation towards women. The single was produced by Salaam Remi & James Poyser and showcases Hamilton’s powerful vocals.

Along with the visual, Hamilton released a new track titled “Save Me”, which was produced by longtime collaborator, Mark Batson and will be featured on his forthcoming studio album, What I’m Feelin’ that will be released on March 25th via RCA Records.

In addition to his new music, Hamilton will be joining fellow Grammy Award winner, Fantasia for a co-headlining tour that starts April 21st.

Fly Music: Anthony Hamilton Debuts “Amen”, Gears Up For Fifth Studio Album


Anthony Hamilton premieres his new first single “Amen” from his forthcoming fifth studio album via RCA Records.

The soulful track was produced by Salaam Remi (Nas, Amy Winehouse, Miguel) & James Poyser (Mariah Carey, Erykah Badu, John Legend).

On Hamilton’s upcoming project, the singer will be reuniting with longtime collaborator Mark Batson, who has produced some of Hamilton’s biggest hits including “Charlene” and “Comin’ From Where I’m From”. Anthony’s upcoming LP is also set to include additional songwriting and production from Chuck Harmony (Mary J. Blige, Fantasia, Ne-Yo), Claude Kelly (Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson) and Harold Lilly (Beyonce, Alicia Keys).

Anthony says:

“I made this album to be refreshing, uplifting and healing for everyone out there dealing with life’s day-to-day struggles. ‘Amen’ is a show of appreciation for all the good women who make life beautiful and full of love for us men. Now let the folk say Amen and Amen!”

[Fly-LIGHTs] Performances From Black Girls Rock 2012….

Last Night,  marked the return of BET’s annual tribute to women of color ‘Black Girls Rock’.


The annual ceremony that celebrates women of color who have made impacts on their respective professional fields, now in it’s third year being televised on BET was an amazing show. Hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross & Regina King (for the second year) and taped  at New York City’s Loews Paradise Theatre, this year’s show honored actress Kerry Washington and songstresses Alicia Keys and Dionne Warwick among others, and featured performances from the likes of Ciara, Brandy, Keyshia Cole, India Arie and more. Alicia Keys performed ‘New Day’ and ‘Girl On Fire’.  Shout Out to former SFPL intern Shernita who can be seen performing/dancing right next to AK! She’s the brown skin beauty with the shaved head!

Brandy performed her newest single “Wildest Dreams” of her AMAZING album, Two Eleven. In, Stores. Now. 

Keyshia Cole gave us some great vocals on her new single, “Trust & Believe”.

Ciara danced her ass of during her performance featuring the Queen, Missy Elliott: She performed “One Woman Army,” “Sorry,” “One, Two, Step;” and brought out Missy for “9th Inning”.

India.Arie performed her single “6th Avenue”.

The fellas did an AMAZING job, with this the first appearance of gentlemen on BGR! Step into Eric Benet, Anthony Hamilton & Luke James’ performance of “Wild Flower”.

And R&B Divas,  SWV ended the celebration with their hits “Right Here”, “Sp Into You” and “Weak”.

Actually India ended with her single, “I am not my hair”, but we’re good 🙂
