Fly Streams: La’Porsha Renae, Haddy Racks, Chloe & Halle and Kevin Ross

Today, singer/songwriter La’Porsha Renae shares her highly anticipated debut album Already All Ready via Motown Records. The 13-track album, which features the smash single “Good Woman,” is available for purchase/stream here. Since the release of “Good Woman,” La’Porsha has made appearances on shows such as The Harry Show, Good Day LA, Good Day NY where she also gave heart-pouring performances, increasing the profile of the single which currently sits at #7 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart. The album features production from mega-talented producers Ne-Yo, Harmony “H-Money” Samuels, Edgar “JV” Etienne, and more. ‘Already All Ready’ showcases La’Porsha’s powerhouse and multi-faceted vocals through genre-blending tracks that shows her versatility as an innovative star that is definitely here to stay.

La’Porsha uses the influence of her favorite artists like Tina Turner, Prince, Michael Jackson, and Whitney Houston and fuses her own young and fresh vibe to the songs creating a unique sound that conveys emotion and excitement.

“The album cover represents all of my past insecurities, and everything I advocate for. I represent beautiful, full figured women, single mothers and natural haired women, and black lives,” says La’Porsha in regards to the album art.

When asked about the meaning of the album, La’Porsha said:

“The title Already All Ready was chosen because many of what I just named is not considered to be ideal or socially popular when describing a rising star. I embraced everything that I thought would hold me back from pursuing my dreams, and used my insecurities to give me the courage to inspire and advocate for others who possessed many of the same insecurities I had. I also wanted to honor single mothers and defy the stereotypical dress code of a thick, brown-skinned, single mother and domestic violence survivor. I’m proud of my curves, my daughter, as well as the harsh past that helped shape me into the strong woman I am today.”

La’Porsha Renae was introduced to the world via the stage of the 15th and final season of American Idol. Although American Idol is the medium that introduced Renae to the world, she has been signing since the tender age of six. She vividly recalls singing “Fallin'” by Alicia Keys in her mother’s beauty shop. She grew up singing for her mother’s clients but had no idea that she would one day share her talent with the world and become the runner up on one of the most popular talent discovery shows of all time. Since the finale of the show, La’Porsha has been signed to 19 Recordings/Motown Records. Her single “Battles” was tapped as the theme song for the gold medal-winning U.S. Women’s Gymnastics team at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. From McComb, Mississippi to American Idol, La’Porsha is now ready to reveal everything that she wasn’t able to on the show.

Fetty Wap Releases Official Self-Titled Album Cover & Trailer

fetty wap album cover

Already charting top hits on Billboard like “Trap Queen” & “My Way,” New Jersey native Fetty Wap offers up his new album cover and trailer building up major anticipation for the Sept. 25th release date.

On the official cover, Fetty had no problem revealing the side of his face that displays just the eye contour, which was affected by Glaucoma when he was born, leaving him without an actual eye. Wap also revealed that he lost his eye at just 6 months old, received reconstructive eye surgery at the age of 12, but didn’t want to wear the prothesis anymore soon after.

I just stopped wearing the prothesis because I didn’t want to look like everyone else. See, that’s the truth — I didn’t get shot or hit with a firecracker.

After, Fetty says that he’s “just blessed.”

Check out the trailer below:

Fetty is currently on the Chris Brown curated tour, One Hell of A Night along French Montana and a few others.

FLY Question Of The Week: Are TLC considered scrubs for soliciting money from their fans to fund their last album?

The year was 1999, and we partied like it was 1999 as we spent our last year on earth (according to conspiracy theorist) living life to the fullest. “No Scrubs” by oh so popular girl group TLC off their album FanMail RULED the air waves, as the ladies declared they could do without men who could not provide for themselves or anyone else. That’s what the song was about right? Released in January 1999 as the album’s first single, “No Scrubs” became TLC’s third number-one single and eighth top 10 single on the Billboard Hot 100. It also earned them their second Grammy nomination for Record of the Year.

“No Scrubs” is one of TLC’s signature songs and was the second biggest Hot 100 single of 1999, according to Billboard ’s Year-End Charts.

If you don’t have a car and you’re walking
Oh yes, son, I’m talking to you
If you live at home with your mamma
Oh yes, son, I’m talking to you (baby)
If you have a shorty but you don’t show love
Oh yes, son, I’m talking to you
Wanna get with me with no money
Oh no, I don’t want, no (oh)

Fast Forward to 2015. Unfortunately, at the present time one of the members of TLC, Left Eye, has left us to be with the Lord. R.I.P. Left Eye. TLC have not since recorded, and although T-Boz & Chilli pop up on your occasional award show, open bar or throwback concert, they have fallen back from creating music of their own. Until now that is.

The ladies of TLC are ready to record their last and final album, but a few things are missing, mainly a major record deal and more importantly, money. So the ladies of TLC have decided to start a kick starter to raise funds for their last album with a solicitation price of 150,000. Although we know albums can be pricey, considering producers, production, studio time, etc… we can’t help but ask ourselves this question … Are TLC considered scrubs for soliciting money from their fans to fund their last album?

Screen shot 2015-01-23 at 12.08.47 PM

Our Guy @RealLifeKaz of made a statement on Twitter the other day that made us think about this even more. Why not drop the 150K out of pocket? Isn’t that what a NON-scrub would do? Or, is it ok to switch up and be a scrub when you need to be?

Now, we’d like to know, What are your thoughts?
