Last Night In NYC: Bloggers Appreciation Mixer With Blogxilla & Datwon Thomas

Last night in NYC, EIC of Vibe Magazine, Datwon Thomas and Media Personality Blogxilla hosted the 3rd annual Bloggers Appreciation Mixer put together by PR Maven and CEO of Playbook Media Group, Marie Driven at AKOO‘s Showroom in NYC. People came together to mix and mingle while bloggers were appreciated. Artist like Stro and Rell Jerv performed.

Media participants included: Rap Radar’s B.Dot Miller, AllHipHop.com Steve Raze, Global Grind’s Lindsey India, HeyGorjess, and Billboard’s Patricia Meschino; and Maino, Lyve Bounce Ent., Skoob from Das Efx, Justina Valentine, Money & Violence RayDay and Spliff Star made special guest appearances. Media outlets in attendance were The Source, The Shade Room, HipHopSince 1987, Thisis50, Stuff Fly People Like, Strictly Hip-Hop, Industry Co-sign, Mass Appeal, and many more notable media outlets.

Many patrons sipped on Clique Vodka, and others munched on food bites created by Chefbowyyardie. Chef Cubon provided delicious dessert; Primrose Couture Events provided the floral centerpiece, and Monster Energy provided the gift bags.

The “Trouble Man” T.I. was on hand to host the launch of AKOO’s  limited edition coffee table book Book of Kings Vol.1.  The collector’s item is pays homage as well as celebrates innovators and influencers in their respected spaces, whether it be art, music, fashion and lifestyle. Special guests, influencers, taste makers enjoyed cocktails provided Hennessy while tapping their toes to music spun by the lovely DJ Nix.

T.I. on the Book of Kings Vol.1: It is an absolute honor to have these amazing artists featured in the very first Book of Kings presented by AKOO. This WILL be a book people look forward to receiving and collecting for years to come!” 

Celebrities and influencers in the book include T.I., Pharrell, Melody Ehsani, 400z Van, Jonathon Mannion, Iggy Azalea, Lil Duval, Karen Civil, Pusha T, D-Nice, Eva Bleu, Sue Tsai and Amazin Amie. Bonsu Thompson lent his mighty pen to created the profiles for each person featured in the book.

Also on hand to celebrate the occasion Bun B, Yo Gotti, Emily B, Bow Wow, Angela Yee, Sue Tsai, Jonathon Mannion, Amazin Amie, Rico Love, Maino, Sway, Tyson Beckford and more…

Last Night Gabe and I put our fashion talents to work as we stepped out in theses streets for Events by Akoo Clothing and  Pynk Magazine clad in some good items …

 

I had on my favorite Diesel Denim Shirt, 55 DSL Navy Cargo pants, Navy low top Converses, Red/Blue Happy Socks via Styliners Boutique, Kappa Tee underneath, Michael Kors watch and Meatloaf Bracelets.

While Gabe was clad in  a The Real World Brooklyn Tee, Rocawear Denim vest with studded detailing (designed by Gabe), Entree snap back, Zara pants, Alige sneakers, Michael Kors watch and Meatloaf bracelets.

[Last NIGHT in NYC] AKOO x Maino x Summer Collection 2012 …

Last Night, Team SFPL headed to the AKOO NY Showroom for their first Tastemaker event of the season.

 

The private event featured Atlantic Records Recording Artist Maino and served as a preview of the AKOO Summer Collection. Hip Hop Wired’s Senior Editor, Kazeem Famuyide was the evenings host and guest included tastemakers, lifestyle & fashion bloggers, and stylists who all gathered while sipping delicious cocktails provided by CIROC.

The Summer collection was full of gems include clean plaids, printed tees, fresh polos and great shorts.

We got a chance to chuck it up with Maino, look out for our 5 Questions for Maino post coming up!

Maino was pretty candid and SOOOO Brooklyn, lol.

DJ Zeke had the party rocking and Kaz did a great job hosting, for more of the Akoo Summer Collection, Peep The Collection Here.

Season one of TI and Tiny’s: Family Hustle reality show wrapped on a high note showcasing the rapper’s AKOO Clothing Brand fashion show in Atlanta and while the Grammy award winning rapper/actor is gearing up for the next installment of his reality show, his clothing line is working on a premiere of its own. In the coming weeks, AKOO will debut its 2012 Spring/Summer campaign starring Rotimi, budding R&B heart throb and TI’s co-star on the hit cable network series, BOSS. Only we’ve got the behind the scenes images from the shoot. From the looks of it, this year’s collection is all about being effortlessly cool.

[Last NIGHT in NYC] T.I.’s Power & Beauty Private Book Event

Monday Evening, The Fly Guys were invited to a Akoo‘s Private Dinner for Multi-platinum (And Face of their brand) Rapper T.I.. The event was to celebrate the release of TIPs new book entitled, Power & Beauty .

Held at posh eatery Phillipe Chow, Attendees enjoyed their signature appetizers including Chicken & Beef Satay, Loaded Entrees and Complimentary Cocktails sponsored by Ciroc Vodka. The restauraunt was filled with notables and tastemakers including; Swizz Beatz, J.Cole, Jadakiss, Deon Grant,  Mel Testamark, Jeff Belizaire and Tameka “Tiny” Cottle-Harris just to name a few.

Let’s just say, they KNOW how to throw a great Event!
