Mother Monster is back with a brand new single titled “Perfect Illusion”, Lady Gaga‘s first in nearly three years.
In true Gaga fashion, she delivers a pop-rock and bona-fide dance track about a relationship where things aren’t as they seem. The “Judas” singer produced the record alongside Mark Ronson, Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, and BloodPop.
“It wasn’t love, it wasn’t love / It was a perfect illusion (Perfect illusion) / Mistaken for love, it wasn’t love / It was a perfect illusion (Perfect illusion) / You were a perfect illusion” she belts.
While at the iHeartRadio Music Summit The Born This Way artist spoke on the tracks inspiration,
“The song is about modern ecstasy. We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it… I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I hear it.”
Gaga is currently working on the follow-up to 2013’s ARTPOP, and starring alongside Bradley Cooper in the Warner Bros.’ remake of A Star Is Born.
