Tyler, the Creator is making his return to the silver screen.
The Odd Future MC has joined forces with VICELAND for a late-night program that draws inspiration from his Golf Media app.
This will be Tyler’s second foray in television. His bizarre sketch comedy show Loiter Squad debuted on Adult Swim in 2012 and lasted for three seasons. At the moment details regarding the new series are scarce, but we do know it is set to air during Viceland’s next programming block.
Tyler will be joining emcee Action Bronson on the 24-hour cable channel. Bronson currently stars in two shows: Fuck That’s Delicious and Action Bronson & Friends Watch Ancient Aliens, which recently featured the Goblin rapper as a guest. Tyler also recently sat down with Afropunk to discuss the demise of his brash Twitter handle @f*cktyler.
RIP FUCKTYLER, WILL MISS YOU, ITS BEEN GREAT, BUT NOW ITS TIME FOR ME TO……IDK WHAT EXACTLY, BUT ITS TIME, IM OK WITH THAT. LOVE YOU.

t’s no secret, NOBODY likes Holly on the Starz hit original series Power. Now that’s just a nod to Lucy Walters who plays the annoying girlfriend of Tommy on the show and she does it very well. So it was no shock when the world including us celebrated her death on episode 305 titled “Help Me”.
The internet was so happy she passed they even started a trending topic on Twitter with #HollyIsDeadParty hashtag. Peep some of the hilarity below:
Oh it didn’t stop there folks also celebrated on Instagram as well. Hit the gallery below to see the hilarious memes folks came up with to celebrate the strangulation of Holly.
A$AP Mob stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night to perform “Yamborghini High,” the lead single off their upcoming Cozy Tapes Vol. 1 project. The Mob channelled the energy and aesthetics of the trippy video, donning camouflage from head-to-toe as they jumped around in a sea of blue, red, and green lights while paying homage to their fallen founder A$AP Yams.
James Corden‘s Carpool Karaoke segment has become a mainstay in pop culture. The Late Late Show host took his segment on the road this week with a visit to the White House. So who joined Corden for some driving and tunes? First Lady Michelle Obama of course!
After some questioning and strict instructions from security, Corden is allowed through the gates where, since she has some time to spare; FLOTUS opts to give him a tour of the grounds while they drive around. Seeing as Obama never has the time to jam while in the car, she requests Corden put on some tunes so they can rock out for a bit. The First Lady is a huge fan of Stevie Wonder and the duo break out into his classic “Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours.”
The First Lady and James Corden jamming to Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours.”
The pair then go on to discuss whether or not FLOTUS will miss having people at her beck and call 24/7. The First Lady will miss the people she’s come to know and seen everyday over the past 7 1/2 years; but not so much the perk of being able to call down and order a grilled cheese and a milkshake at 3 a.m.. After Michelle reveals her and POTUS’s code names, she helps Corden come up with one of his own before they break out into Queen Bey’s “Single Ladies” and of course the duo couldn’t resist bringing out the dance moves.

After an epic sing off of “Single Ladies” the two go on to discuss Obama’s education initiative Let Girls Learn. She even reveals that she joined Snapchat as a way to keep the public here informed of the struggles girls around the world face as it pertains to getting an education. This is followed by sing-a-long of “This Is For My Girls,” the anthem for Michelle’s initiative which features Kelly Clarkson, Kelly Rowland, Zendaya, Chloe x Halle, Lea Michelle, Janelle Monáe, Jadagrace, and Missy Elliott; who pops out the back seat to deliver her high energy verse.
Missy Elliott joins Michelle Obama, and James Corden as they sing “This Is For My Girls.”
The trio close out their car ride by breaking out into one of Missy’s catalog of hits, “Get Ur Freak On,” which Michelle knows almost word for word. At the end Missy can’t stand to leave Obama and Corden, but she has a 1:55 tour she can’t miss.
You can watch the complete car ride which has already amassed over 2.5 million views in less than 24 hours below. More information on Obama’s education initiative Let Girls Learn is available here.

THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON -- Episode 0503 -- Pictured: (l-r) Actor Idris Elba and host Jimmy Fallon during "Box of Microphones" on July 19, 2016 -- (Photo by: Andrew Lipovsky/NBC)
Idris Elba was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night where he was asked to indulge in a game of Box of Microphones. Guests are asked to choose from a selection of songs and then take their shot and belting out the tune using one of the microphones from the box. This is no ordinary box, the microphones each have a different special vocal effect.
When it was time to play Elba’s first selection was Desiigner’s hit “Panda.” Fallon was up next with Drake’s “One Dance,” and the two finished things off with a duet of Lionel Richie and Diana Ross’s “Endless Love.”
ower is officially back y’all, and we are so damn excited!
Let’s step into the season premiere now shall we? Season 3 opens up with Ghost no no we mean James beginning his new-found life out of the game. James and Angela make their grand entrance into truth, things are much different now that James and Angela no longer have to sneak around. Tasha is out of the picture, James has laid Ghost to rest Angela no longer has a care in the world, well at least she thinks.

James isn’t the only one embracing a new role, his former partner/brother Tommy is now the head guy in charge.
Last season we found out that Tommy isn’t willing to let the drug game and annoying ass Holly go so easily.
He struck a deal with Lobos as well in order to maintain his flow of product to keep in him in business. The catch is that Tommy has to cancel Christmas on Ghost or not only will he not get any product, his family will be erased as well.
Holly is still annoying and still very much bored just being cooped up in Tommy’s apartment cause that’s just the Holly we have come to know.
She insists that Tommy gives her something to do to make herself useful but all he wants his very eager and nosy girlfriend to do is lay low and feed the dog. Of course Holly isn’t trying to hear that but has no choice but to listen for now. Tommy and Holly’s little spat is interrupted by a phone call from Julio, looks like Tommy is being thrown into the fire when it comes to being the boss. Tommy and Julio run to a little dispute between rival drug factions, the wolves are now starving because product is low and Ruiz is gone.
Tommy doing his best Michael Jackson impersonation from the “Beat It” video tries to calm down the situation.
Tommy tries to negotiate a truce between them, but unfortunately they were not trying to hear his white ass and the knives came out.
YES we said knives, definitely felt like a scene out of West Side Story. Anyway what the poor guy doesn’t realize is that Tommy isn’t a damn punk. He is the one you should always fear, that one crazy white boy that hangs in the hood. Tommy quickly dispatches homeboy with knife and a brawl ensues. Magically the cops show up in record time to defuse the situation and they all scatter like roaches when the light is cut on. Well Tommy you want to be the boss this is what the boss has to deal with.
Tommy’s former partner Ghost oops we forgot James isn’t walking the straight path alone. With Tommy no longer by his side, the young go-getter Dre has stepped up become Ghost’s protegé.
Dre is very eager to get to work and make some real money, but he’s still not to keen with the fact of making the money slowly and in a legit fashion. James breaks it down to Dre how the club business works as opposed to the drug game. Dre daps it up with his new boss and calls him Ghost, it’s there Dre realizes the James is seriously out the game when James tells him to forget the name Ghost.

After his meeting with Dre, James takes a look at the bloody La Loteria card he was leaving as calling cards that mysteriously wound up in desk. Hmmmm must be still wondering if Lobos is alive or not.
James goes outside for a breath of fresh air, he looks up and notices Tommy across the street staring at him.
The very intense stare down is interrupted by a text from Angela asking James where he is. Once James looks back across the street, Tommy is gone and heads home unable to complete his task of killing Ghost. James links back up with Angela in his office inside Truth. Now you know this wouldn’t be an official episode of Power without a routine Ghost and Angela sex scene.
As fans of the beloved HBO’s series Game of Thrones find themselves licking their wounds upon learning that Season 7 of the hit show will not only be shorter; but won’t be debuting in April or May like past seasons, a ray of light shine’s through in the form of a recap video.
Why would a recap video of the first five seasons illicit such joy? Well because it’s narrated by none other than Samuel L. Jackson. As expected, Jackson’s narration is full of expletives and is delivered in a way only he can.
Watch the hilarious Game of Thrones Beginner’s guide below. Can you believe we only have 2 seasons and 15 hours left. We are definitely not looking forward to the end of this epic series.
he countdown for Starz most watched series Power has officially begun. Season 3 of the hit show executive produced by Courtney Kemp Agboh and 50 Cent looks to build off the tremendous momentum last season ended with.
Season 3 has Ghost attempting to go legit but unfortunately there a lot of people who want to see him dead. The main focus will be Ghost vs his former friend and partner Tommy!
With season 3 of Power set to explode on our televisions on its new day Sunday, we decided to make some bold POWER predictions for each of season 3’s power players. Hit the gallery below to see our bold predictions for season 3 of Power.
Malik Yoba is a man of many talents. An actor, producer, writer, author, philanthropist, and marketing guru; he’s dedicated his life to using his successes in life to promote change and do good. In our interview with the multifaceted star he delves into his current projects, views on the responsibility of artists, thoughts on Jesse William’s Humanitarian Award acceptance speech, and who he’ll be supporting in the upcoming Presidential election in November.
Audiences haven’t seen you on their TV screens since your character Vernon Davis was killed during the Season 1 finale of Empire, tell us what have you been up to?
I’ve been running the world. [Laughs] I have been very busy with the company I co-founded Iconic 32. It’s a branding and marketing company that works at the intersection of pop culture and social good. At this point in my career it’s more about being the boss. I’m working on several projects. There’s Little Brother a series of short documentaries being shot in different cities that focuses on black boys and love. From an executive producer and writer perspective just busy creating and working content. Iconic 32 is working with TV One. Our relationship with TV One is growing, and we did movie the Bad Dad Rehab. The movie follows four fathers who have a lot of growing up to do as fathers and men. On their journey of maturity, the men find themselves enrolled in a focus group that supports men striving to become better fathers and men. This subject matter makes what we’re doing together really important. They’re this small scrappy network and I’m really proud of their new direction. It’s been a great couple of months getting to not only do the film, but being a part of the strategy. We knew we had something special at the American Black Film Festival. We’ve had screenings and you see the impact. In Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Florida, New York we hear from community groups and churches. I spoke with DJ Kut in St. Louis from 95.5 he goes “Why’d you do that to us” and then he tells me everyone was in tears. There’s power in that, it’s resonated with so many people.

You’re really dedicated to telling the stories of black fathers. This is the focus of Daddy Don’t Go, the documentary you executive produced with Omar Epps, can you tell us more about it?
Daddy Don’t Go is something we worked on for a couple of years. The response has been amazing. That and Bad Dad Rehab were both in ABFF (American Black Film Festival) at the same time. It follows four economically challenged young men over the course of two years who ride for their kids despite all the odds, always doing the best they can for their children. Part of the narrative that we don’t hear a lot of. What you hear all the time is about what men don’t do; but these guys really ride hard for their kids. I think that’s an important message to put out there. It’s funny I mentioned the reception around the country, I was on the phone with a woman from London who came to the screening in Miami. So we’re making arrangements for me and some of the other casts members to go to London. Same thing in South Africa. Someone else saw the film that wants us over there. So it also has a global appeal just like Bad Dad Rehab.

It’s clear that you’re passionate about the work you do in the community. How do you feel about Jesse Williams’s speech at the BET Awards?
I loved it. What I love about that is that the Humanitarian Award speech has gotten more love than any performance and that’s why we do what we do. Jesse, we’ve met over the last few years and he’s been very involved so I’m not surprised. He’s a very articulate and passionate dude. I’m very happy that people are paying attention, that’s a true artist. Make no mistake about it that was written and scripted and he delivered it like a great performer should. There are those of us that are very proud to pass the baton.
I was interviewing John Lewis last weekend in Washington, D.C. at a scholarship gala. In 1989 I was a part of the 25th Anniversary of the Freedom Ride. John Lewis was one of the original 13 Freedom Riders. I used to wear the uniform; blue overalls, a white t-shirt, and old school glasses. I’m 21 years-old, the same age he was when he joined the Civil Rights Movement and we were talking about how do you bring the Civil Rights Movement into today.
Jesse Williams at the 2016 BET Awards during his acceptance of the Humanitarian Award
There were some young men and woman who were receiving scholarships or a part of our youth Phi Beta club for the kids. So in this situation where young people are sitting in the back of the room and this is a room of about 400 people; I moved them to the front and had them sit on the floor in front of the stage literally on the floor. I drew the connection between the fact that this man John Lewis was just leading a sit in a few days earlier in Congress and he hadn’t done that in 53 years. Here are these young people who have no idea who he is, but it was like a fireside chat with grandpa and he was able to pass on the knowledge. I said to him that’s where I was at 21 years-old, now I’m 48 and the youngest kid in that room was 7 years-old. When they shook his hand knowing this was the same hand that shook Martin Luther King’s hand, and then he told the story about what it was like to meet King for the first time; if you could see the look on these kids faces like “Oh my god” it was as if they had died and gone to heaven. That’s what it’s about. It’s about understanding our place in the matrix, using our gifts to make a difference; if we’re artists as Paul Robeson said we’re gatekeepers of truth. So whether it’s Jesse doing his thing or, whomever we’re all here to inspire and to motivate people and to move the needle. We’re not here just to entertain, make money, and to wear fancy clothes. People are suffering, especially now. With the political climate, race relations in America, and hatred in the world; we have to be the counterbalance.
Who will you be voting for in the upcoming election, if it’s you don’t mind me asking?
I think it’s time based on who we have in front of us, it’s time we had a female President.
Bad Dad Rehab premiered Sunday July 3 on TV One. If you missed it you can watch the first 30 minutes below. To catch the remainder of the film lookout for encore showings or screenings and make sure to pick it up when it’s released on DVD.
