clifton-ross-sunday-best

A Singer in his own right, a Howard University Grad, a Teacher of Music at Bryant Alternative School in Alexandria, Virginia, Clifton Ross III has been able to hold down the fork as one of the best talents to ever hit the main stage of BET‘s trending gospel show, Sunday Best.

Recently, competing on the 8th season hit reality competition show; All Stars Edition, the Detroit native made it through five of the elimination rounds and wowed the audience every single time. Although, he didn’t win but yet made it to the bitter end — it was still another milestone that the incomparable singer could check off his bucket list. Ross’ already has quite an extensive resume within the gospel industry, praised by veteran performers all across the gospel/christian genre. Being on show, not only elevated his brand but extended his catalogue of experience even more.

Clifton Ross now continues his music journey with his new single “I Believe God” and is currently working on a new album due out very soon.

Take a look below, as Ross stopped by SFPL TV to give us a full glimpse of the “powerhouse” that he is, up close and personal, while expressing his proclamation through song to the one above:

danielle-nicolet

Just wrapping up Season 1 of TV One‘s Born Again Virgin, actress Danielle Nicolet stops by to catch us up on the new hit comedic series, if her character relates to her in any kind of way [being a Virgin?], and her music obsessions with Kendrick Lamar and James Blake.

[Note: We tried to get her to do the “Nae Nae” dance…but she refused. HA!]

Danielle also says that if she were dating Meek Mill — she would take her thumb and make it his ID Thumb Print on his phone, so he could no longer interact on social media. She’s hilarious!

Fly Interview: ‘Straight Outta Compton’ Cast Talks Movie Roles, Drake Vs. Meek Mill Beef & more

straight outta compton cast

O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Ice Cube), Jason Mitchell (Eazy-E) and Corey Hawkins (Dr. Dre) have all encompassed their roles to the point where it’s quite scary how well they play each of their characters in the upcoming movie biopic, which hit theaters on Friday, August 14th.

During the interview, the fellas spoke on the pressures behind playing someone that they’ve idolized for so long.

[O’Shea] on playing the role of his very own Father, Ice Cube:

It had to audition for two years before I got the role. And then, after that I had a chemistry test with [these two: Jason & Corey] and like two other [Cube’s] and like three [Dre’s], and Universal Studios still had to pick the right man for the job. It’s a crazy amount of pressure because it’s my family’s legacy.

O’Shea admits that he may follow in his Father’s footsteps and pursue more music (says he gave Big Sean a nudge recently on the subject, as he laughs). But, for now acting is his main priority, he says.

[Corey] on why he thinks they were casted:

They wanted it to be authentic. They wanted it to be right, and they weren’t looking for impersonations. They could’ve found guys that looked and sound exactly like them, but they wanted people who they knew could do the work and just capture the legacy of N.W.A.

[Jason] says:

They took the fear away from us by letting us know…”you guys are right for the job. we pitched you guys for a reason. All the impersonations and all of the problems that you think you guys are going to have physically, we’re going to give you the tools to feel comfortable, but in the meantime, just to be here to support you guys.”

On the Drake vs Meek Mill:

It looks like there’s about six rounds left in the fight, so let’s not count it out completely. But we all know what the judges cards are looking like at this point. It’s been a knockdown in the fight! He got up but lets just see where it goes.

The established music vet also speaks on the state of R&B, which she feels like is no dead:

R&B never left. I think that what happened was the R&B singers got caught up in wanting to do what Hip Hop artists do, beacause Hip Hop is “f**kin cool,” it’s a lifestyle.

Kalenna went on to say, that most R&B artists need to just go back to the drawing board, dig through the archives of; Jodeci, R. Kelly, and more. Praises: Tinashe, Sevyn Streeter, Ne-Yo, The-Dream and Rico Love for sticking to real R&B music, and writing great songs.

In Part 2 of the interview, She also reveals a new collaboration with her past Dirty Money cohort, Diddy on her new album project ‘Black Orchid.’

Wanting to be apart of the recent BET Awards 2015 “Bad Boy Reunion” performance, Kalenna also talked about the good ole’ DDM days and killed rumors about Diddy leaving her and Dawn Richard broke with no money, after the group split.
