The Fly Discussion: Beyonce Lip-Synched The National Anthem, SO WHAT!!??

*Enters* King Bey (your singer’s favorite singer) at the 2013 Presidential Inauguration for President Barack Obama‘s Second Term.

Her Purpose? To honor the President (who personally requested her) at his Inauguration ceremony in D.C. by singing the National Anthem.

She stands up before hundreds of thousands of spectators (she’s used to it, thanks) and belt’s out a beautiful version of the National Anthem.

Now before she could get through the song, the streets (Twitter Avenue, between Twitter Road and Twitter Street) were already buzzing that the Queen had received a special message right before her performance ….

Now considering how special this moment was to the Nation & The WORLD, Bey might have just caught a case of bad nerves …

And she did NOT F&*^ IT UP!

In FACT, she went IN! I’m not sure how much was her and how much was the pre-recorded track, but I DO KNOW that it was her VOICE!

*AND …. SCENE!*

So Now, a spokesperson for the US Marine Corps issued a statement confirming that Beyonce chose to sing to a pre-recorded track at the last minute:

“We don’t know why Beyoncé decided to use prerecorded music. All music [for inaugural ceremonies] is prerecorded as a matter of course, and that’s something we’ve done for years and years. The Marine Band did perform live throughout the ceremony but we received last-minute word that Beyoncé wanted to use the recording.”

.

Now, we could go tit for tat all day and come up with several reasons why Beyonce chose to lip synch. Could have been bad nerves, a cold, the flu, walking phenomena, wondering why Olivia Pope was standing behind Jay, drama with the baby sitter (Kelly been acting funny), get over Michelle’s 8 bar’s on Destiny’s Child’s “Nuclear”, Hell, I believe she didn’t want to risk botching up such a historic moment. As a MATTER of fact, it’s standard procedure for singers to pre-record their performances at large events, including the Super Bowl. Even the greatest voices have done so ….

YES, Whitney Houston lip-synched this HISTORIC PERFORMANCE Hoes!

But it all balls down to the fact that she did! Why the need to persecute her when it’s a common practice at such historic events? We KNOW she has the vocals, so why the uproar?

Here’s my two cents, SHUT UP!

She’s human, and I wish not to ridicule her for such a common practice (again at historic events), when others do so without so much as a pat on the wrist. We all know she has the pipes, and after all SHE pre-recorded the vocals.

Case Rested.

And give me a call when The First Family hand picks your favorite artist to sing at their Presidential Inauguration.

Your thoughts?

-Stay Fly!
